- bdickason, on 09/16/2008, -1/+8Rock band 2, duh.
- amitlu, on 09/16/2008, -0/+6Gotta back Harmonix over Activision. Go RB2
- hokeywebb22, on 09/16/2008, -1/+6Rock Band 2 because they actually release DLC. Guitar Hero 3 promised a lot but they barely released any.
- mywhitenoise, on 09/16/2008, -0/+4Seriously.
Do I take the game with close to 200 DLC songs (that all transfer onto the next game) available already, 55 transferable disc-based songs from the first game, 20 free DLC songs, and as much as 500 songs for the franchise out by the end of the year...or do I get the franchise that plans on making more Aerosmith like spin-offs, that are likely not to support a vast DLC library?
Easy win for me. - mywhitenoise, on 09/16/2008, -0/+3so buy the instruments, and play Rock Band. duh.
- hokeywebb22, on 09/17/2008, -0/+3Yea but they promised that for Guitat hero 3 also. Yet "regular" meant every 2-3 months.
Until they actually do it i will stick with RB2 - fluidfoundation, on 09/17/2008, -0/+1I don't think $300 is that much for the ion kit, especially when you can hook it up to a drum brain (DM5 or really more any other that takes 1/4 inputs) and have yourself a basic electronic kit. Add one more cymbal and you're even better.
And personally I prefer the rock band guitar to the guitar hero ones. - schmiggyjk, on 09/16/2008, -1/+2This is incorrect. By the time both new games are out cross compatibility should patched and rolling for all the main instruments, and for free.
- kinseyincanada, on 09/17/2008, -1/+2i thought everyone on digg was boycotting EA? so i guess its GH:WT for everyone
- primussucks, on 09/16/2008, -3/+4Getting both,
Rock Band is from better developers but GH4 has Mars Volta and Tool - MaxMWood, on 09/17/2008, -0/+1If you have a 360, buy Rock Band 2 and all the instruments etc and then buy a copy of Guitar Hero World Tour. I'm quite sure the instruments are compatible with both.
- Groovester, on 09/17/2008, -0/+1World Tour has the best "instruments" hands down. But there is something to be said about all the additional songs Rock Band has... It's a hard decision.
- inactive, on 09/17/2008, -0/+1I'll take World Tour. I can't stand Rock Band mechanics.
- schmiggyjk, on 09/17/2008, -1/+1If you read the article, that was the conclusion the author made. :)
- etgoboom, on 09/17/2008, -2/+2yeah, we were, but Activision is the new EA
- WhereAmI, on 09/16/2008, -2/+1Depends on how well this feature works in Guitar Hero WT:
http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/54762 - schmiggyjk, on 09/16/2008, -2/+1Activision has promised to do the same, regular DLC, so it all comes out in the wash.
- Nekura20x6, on 09/16/2008, -3/+1Rock Band 2 - despite the production issues they had with RB1 instruments, the software and music selection is better.
Plus, they didn't pull the dick move of forcing their competitor to pay them before allowing them to patch their own software. (Activision [Guitar Hero] told EA [Rock Band] they would have to pay in order to release a patch for Rock Band that would make PS3 Guitar Hero instruments work with their title.) I haven't purchased a single GH3 download since, but own *every* piece of DLC released for Rock Band. - voomfoo, on 09/16/2008, -4/+1GEARS 2... IMA GET ME SOME CHIEVOS!!!
- schmiggyjk, on 09/16/2008, -7/+2It is all about quality hardware, and that means GHWT.
