- angrytortilla, on 11/05/2009, -14/+672Welcome to the suck.
- wutname1, on 11/05/2009, -33/+607I for one will not puchase this game but i will pirate it and give it to any one i hear is thinking of buying it, or i may just burn tons of copies and leave them on store shelves
- doshindude, on 11/05/2009, -50/+521This game will be the biggest tech failure/blunder since Vista.
- FormerBabby, on 11/06/2009, -5/+389***** THIS *****
GO TO HELL IW
I only use Mays lock on my most hated enemies. - tcwjonny, on 11/05/2009, -3/+373Hope this doesn't turn into a trend. Thanks for calling them out Ars.
- Pecheckler, on 11/05/2009, -2/+371Not allowed to kick players from games? HA
The PC version will be unplayable due to cheaters in no time at all. - pagno, on 11/05/2009, -16/+366Despite all this, it will still sell 2million copies. Why? Because people are stupid.
- tehhambone, on 11/05/2009, -3/+327FTA: "This is the amount of work that went into the PC version: you are given the ability to use a mouse, to use text chat, and to adjust graphical settings. Are your fears now put to rest?
We thought the lack of dedicated servers was bad, but now we can add the lack of console commands, the inability to have a say in who hosts the game, a lengthy pause while the game migrates to a new host if the currently selected host quits, no leaning, no option to record matches, and no way to kick or block trouble players, hackers, or cheaters."
This is a giant middle finger to pc gamers. Give them one back - don't buy this game. - quentinp, on 11/05/2009, -6/+296I was a pretty big MW fan, played tons of online. In the past few weeks IW has seen me go from pre-order must have, to concern, to a raised eyebrow/suspicious look, to forget it.
They remind me of Tracy Jordan from 30 Rock - trying to connect to the "common man" a few episodes ago. This is how IW sounds when they try to connect to PC gamers.
I never thought I'd say it, at one point MW2 was my #1 game purchase for the year, I'm not even a get all upset and boycott a purchase sort of person usually, but now I don't think I'm going to buy it at all. - SpeedSteamBoat, on 11/06/2009, -2/+288I've got 2 to 1 odds that when the PC version of this game sells like ***** Activision blames piracy.
- EnergyFlash, on 11/05/2009, -4/+253Gives the term 'Crippleware' a whole new meaning. IW's message to PC gamers = Console yourselves.
- Exodin, on 11/06/2009, -3/+239We're gonna raise the price $10 for no reason, and then give you less for your money.
Signed, Infinity Ward - MatzahMan, on 11/06/2009, -9/+245Hey IW! Say hello to my little friend. *Opens up uTorrent*
- AndrewDB, on 11/06/2009, -4/+188Hey IW:
I can change my resolution in Doom 2, it now has mouse look AND it has chat.
Guess what it has as well..
MOTHER ***** LEAN.
I'd rather play Doom 2 because believe it or not, it actually has dedicated servers !
*Go look up Skulltag, if you care to join the fun people. - TyIzaeL, on 11/06/2009, -6/+187While the console version will remain unplayable due to 13 year olds.
- OblivionMage, on 11/05/2009, -3/+182Who would bother developing cheats for a game that nobody plays?
- Dugglous, on 11/06/2009, -10/+179Vista was just misunderstood. MW2 deserves all the bad press it gets and then some.
- Titan615, on 11/06/2009, -3/+172I just found their contact info for their corporate offices. I tried the number and it does go to Infinity Ward.
I think we should voice our complaints directly.

Phone Number +1.818.386.0072 - Edgers, on 11/06/2009, -2/+158I cancelled my preorder last week. There's an awesome lineup of games for the next 12 months that will actually give a ***** about PC gaming, and i'll save my money for them thanks.
- Chainheart2, on 11/06/2009, -4/+155And Left 4 Dead 2 just earned another previously hesitant customer.
- MasterInsan0, on 11/06/2009, -3/+118I would say something like "it's because of people like you that PC gaming is dying", but that's not really true. The reality of it is much more simple. Whether people pirate it or not, the sales of the console versions will be much higher, especially since they're butchering the PC port so badly. Because of this, Activision will declare that piracy killed their sales, resulting in even more butchered PC ports.
Bobby Kotick is a sinister mastermind of business. He's created a paradox of profit for himself. By butchering a PC port, people will pirate it rather than pay for it. This will allow him to blame piracy for low sales, meaning that he will be able to save money by making studios pump out more butchered ports (since, after all, why give the pirates more features?). People will pirate those butchered ports and the cycle will continue until PC gaming, which Kotick views as unprofitable (except in the MMO market, with WoW), is dead, allowing him to make even more money from his console franchises that are already printing money. (Since some of the PC gamers will go to consoles.)
I'm not a hateful person, and I don't want anyone to die. Except Bobby Kotick. Only good things could come from his death. - Katana314, on 11/06/2009, -27/+141OMGWTF quit complaining you can CHANGE YOUR RESOLUTION.
Whiner. - Kisama, on 11/05/2009, -1/+113I disagree. I think it would be better to compare this to Daikatana.
- S2000, on 11/06/2009, -4/+112***** IW. Retards.
- TwwIX, on 11/06/2009, -7/+112This pretty much confirms that the PC version is a lazy port. All i can say is, ***** Activision, IW and the morons who'll be throwing their money at them.
- 0biKwiet, on 11/06/2009, -2/+94It's clear from the arrogant attitude of IW's PR, that management is sitting around are talking about how much PC gamers whine, and claiming that it happens to every release, and how they've all seen it before. It's true that you see PC gamers whine on forums more than console gamers, but that's only because more PC gamers get on forums more. The thing is, this is not a couple of losers sitting on the game boards complaining about trivialities they don't understand. This is *everyone* pointing out moronic, easily avoidable flaws in the game's implementation. Yet whoever is in charge will continue to insist that this is all meaningless whining, because he's too much of an insecure tool to admit that he was wrong.
- mark076h, on 11/06/2009, -2/+94Any news on a PC leak yet?
- ronintetsuro, on 11/06/2009, -0/+84THE CIIIIIIRCLE OF LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIFE
- angrytortilla, on 11/06/2009, -4/+83Or people are uninformed. There will be sad faces when they discover the multiplayer features the hard way.
- SpeedSteamBoat, on 11/06/2009, -2/+78Dugg for most people missing the sarcasm.
- thebreach, on 11/06/2009, -1/+76Dugg just for Mays Lock
- Khast, on 11/06/2009, -4/+78Yeah, problem is, at least Vista grew out of it's problems and actually turned out good.
MW2 on the other hand...from the way the designers are telling it...won't be "improving" any of the gamers' concerns any time soon. - Telekenesis, on 11/06/2009, -9/+78InfinityWard/Activision is *obsessed* with Microsofts XBL and the control it gives MS over monetizing EVERYTHING. They want that ability, they do not want your friends or community making mods or content and giving them to you for free, they want to *sell* it to you, they want you to pay for everything and monetize every last little bit and give you absolutely nothing for free...or let anyone else give it to you.
MS's XBL has been the curse of freedom, just like in the real world freedoms are disappearing from corrupt globalists, so in the electronic realm they want to create an Orwellian nightmare in the same thread where everything is monitored, controlled, and most importantly monetized.
Boycott it, it's the only thing these money grubbing penny pinchers understand. - AndrewDB, on 11/06/2009, -2/+69Something else I forgot to mention here:
It's ***** FREE, not sixty bucks. - freezo1994, on 11/06/2009, -0/+67http://www.ppc.bz/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/billy ...
- allfatherblack, on 11/06/2009, -2/+59When I found out there would be no dedicated servers, I said to myself "that sucks" and giggled as everyone threw a *****-fit, because I assumed that they must be confident in the efficiency of their code and I was tired of playing online matches with ***** rules and settings anyway. I still intended to buy the game asap and I'm NOT a CoD fan by any means.
When I found out the maximum player limit was 9v9, I decided that I had no reason to buy the game as I would only be bothering with the single-player. 9v9 is a massive step back for PC games and I could certainly find a better experience in any number of already released games. Then they topped it off with the console *****, the dickish answers that pretty much confirm this is a console port, the lack of a demo, and finally I understood that Infinity Ward simply wasn't even trying.
This one's getting a spite-download just to show them what a ***** move this is, and this time I won't even kid myself with the notion that I might buy it in the future to make up for it. There was so much going for this game and yet IW and Activision managed to ***** utterly destroy it. Let me know how IWnet works against that pirating thing, 'cause something tells me it's not going to be very well. - Jamizzy99, on 11/06/2009, -3/+60where's your shop? I wanna come buy from you
- wutname1, on 11/05/2009, -0/+54i could not agree more
- cecil1knight, on 11/06/2009, -1/+52I Blame Robert Kotick.
- 3nder99, on 11/06/2009, -0/+49Especially with all of the people who are going to pirate it just out of spite.
I don't give a ***** about single player or crappy multiplayer if they get it working, so I'm just going to ignore the game completely and wait for Bad Company 2. - Bulletbillx, on 11/06/2009, -0/+48if possible get 3 friends and split a 4 pack. then you each pay 33.75.
- 3nder99, on 11/06/2009, -9/+56"Why the ***** would the spend a butt load of money on PC Gamers, half of who will be using a copy they didn't pay for anyway."
To play online with a pirated copy of COD4, you have to play on a cracked server with no PB. Which means hackers... Then there is the fact that cracked servers account for less than 2% of all servers... 50% my ass. FYI, there are more pirated copies being run off of the Xbox 360, in fact MW2 is already being pirated for the 360.
Why would you spend a butt load of money on PC gamers? Well besides the fact this decision will cost them at a minimum 10 million dollars, you might wish to consider that just about every single idea that was adopted for COD4, which made it such a "great" game, was actually stolen from the modding community. MW2's new features like the AC-130 and the Nuke were stolen from, you guessed it, the modding community.
Enjoy the stagnation of the Call of Duty series. It will be nothing but prettier graphics from here on out, and stupid new features that will leave you scratching your head.
In 5 years or so another franchise will have benefited from the modding community COD is throwing away, and will parlay their new title of PC FPS leader into the console arena and Bobby Kotick (Activision CEO) will be left wondering how they ruined a Billion dollar series. - skim1420, on 11/06/2009, -0/+45That's Activision's headquarters. IW's HQ is located in Studio City:

(818) 386-0072 - mark076h, on 11/05/2009, -1/+44this article is about a Q&A that happened a few days ago.
- Tubal22, on 11/06/2009, -6/+48Not likely. Probably will be one of the top selling games of 2009. Even though it's releasing in November.
- roflmcwaffles, on 11/06/2009, -0/+41The real joke is when they reveal that there's no mouse support, and you'll need to plug in a controller to play.
- budbud83, on 11/06/2009, -2/+42You know what, we don't need Activision. There are plenty of other PC game developers out there that deserve our money. I WILL BUY FROM THEM.
- Kettek, on 11/06/2009, -9/+49"Modern Warfare 2 shock: No servers or mods for PC version"
If the contards can't have it, you can't either! - Sux4Bux, on 11/06/2009, -2/+41I doubt it will break 100k on PC now. Anyone who's a fan and has got the rig to run it would know about this by launch and give a big middle finger to IW. Almost everyone will pirate it for the single player out of spite.
- Expl0siv0, on 11/06/2009, -0/+39Using a mouse AND changing resolution? That's not balanced! TAKE OUT THE MOUSE!
