- Evilblobs, on 07/26/2008, -5/+38PC wins again.
sure i had to wait a few months, but now i get
a) good graphics at real [not upscaled] HD resolutions
b) mods
c) keyboard + mouse or 360 controller (whichever i feel at the time)
in before someone says you need 4000$ PC to play modern games. - inactive, on 07/26/2008, -6/+34I was thinking about the cost of PC gaming the other day. People always go "A decent system is over 1000 dollars just to play a game. Then you need ti upgrade every year if you don't buy high end"
The reason that is so false is because you NEED a computer anyway. I usually spend at least 600 dollar on a machine(I buy prebuilt), and these days if you look for a good deal you can get a quad core with 4GB ram with integrated graphics for that price. After that, spend 200 bucks on the high end ATI card and you have a hardcore gaming system. You had to spend the 600 anyways, so the 200 bucks is like the price it takes to get the "gaming console" part of your PC. Way cheaper than a 360, or even a wii. Sure you won't be able to play all games on high for the next 4 years, but you will be able to at least play games on low then. And low settings in 4 years will still look pretty.
You can buy crazy ***** for over 2000 bucks, but there really isn't a need. - yotomote, on 07/25/2008, -6/+27It was pretty obvious it was coming, they just know PC gamers have more patience and dont rush to preorder stuff at the first viral marketing video so they leave us for last.
- inactive, on 07/26/2008, -4/+22Yes. PC gamers are smarter than console gamers. It's a fact, you can look it up.
- jordanlgta, on 07/26/2008, -1/+14I'm Jordan from IGN's PlanetGTA and GTA Hood. A PC version will happen in the future, but the Malaysian magazine made up what they said. And yes, I realize that me saying who I am might sound egotistical, but I'm just identifying myself to bring more credibility to my comment.
- PhreedomX, on 07/26/2008, -1/+10Best news I've heard all year.
- zdiggler, on 07/26/2008, -0/+8Me and my kid played GRA:SA on both console and PC. PC version is much much better! Especially with mods and hot coffee!
- Alfonzo, on 07/26/2008, -0/+7About god damn time, Rockstar! It's a shame that a series that started on PC's now makes PC users wait almost an extra year for a release.

- lordtyros, on 07/25/2008, -2/+8YOUS A BUSTA ROCKSTAR
- seldon452, on 07/26/2008, -0/+5No. And why do you care? Do you really need to have sex in a video game to say you got laid?
Because I do... :*( - hurricanewane, on 07/26/2008, -0/+5Keyboard and mouse > 360 or PS3 controller. Nuff said. Fanboys ***** off.
- CalcProgrammer1, on 07/26/2008, -0/+4XBOX 360 gamepads are 100% Windows XP and Vista compatible, and I'm sure a big game like GTA4 will support the use of a controller. You can also use Wiimote and PS3 controllers on PC using unofficial Bluetooth drivers or programs.
- medfreak, on 07/26/2008, -0/+4PC Gamer's issue is just pure speculation. We still don't have a confirmation because Cockstar still can't swallow its pride and give us a hint.
But there was a better hint to the PC version than this, and it was the fact that the official ESRB site listed GTA IV platforms as: "Windows PC, Xbox 360, PS3} on their website, but few hours after it being discussed on GTAforums.com, it got removed. - artofwot, on 07/26/2008, -0/+4Everyone does realize this is from PC Gamer ... Malaysia... right?
I'm guessing that GTA IV will definitely come to PC, I'm just not sure a gamer magazine from Malaysia of all places is the most credible source. - jordanlgta, on 07/26/2008, -1/+5Batman.
- ZombieKiss, on 07/26/2008, -0/+4Awesome! Now I can play it in 1080p!
- NiGHTSChao, on 07/26/2008, -0/+3I miss the old PCGamer T__T
- fxu1989, on 07/26/2008, -1/+4Excuse me, who did you say you are?
- medfreak, on 07/26/2008, -1/+4Alright, let us play a cross platform mutliplayer GTA IV you on the console me on the PC. Have fun getting owned 100% of the time.
- norman619, on 07/26/2008, -0/+3They don't rush to pre-order? Talk to Gamestop and other retailers. PC gamers pre-order just like console gamers do. I happen to be one of those PC gamers that do pre-orders. Also remember Bioshock?
- Henaro, on 07/26/2008, -1/+4This is nothing new. We've been superior for quite some time.
- DynamiteMonkey, on 07/26/2008, -0/+3Coconut monkey would fix it.... but he has no hands.
- inactive, on 07/26/2008, -1/+4he SAID "buy a card after you buy the original system".
oh, and his method sucks. why? retailers overprice their memory, but they're good deals in that they give you an entire pre-built PC, often with a nice LCD monitor and keyboard/mouse and speakers, and their CPU prices are pretty good.
So buy a pre-built E8400-based system with the least amount of ram on it as possible (512MB? 1gb?) then upgrade it to 4GB yourself, it'll be much cheaper.
Then get yourself an HD4870, and you should be all set for GTA IV (i BET it'll max it out at 1680x1050 at 30fps+) - blankoboy, on 07/26/2008, -0/+2Agreed. WASD + mouse cannot be beaten for any type of first/third person gaming.
- Shaflugi, on 07/26/2008, -0/+2Keyboard+Mouse+Controller is win. In GTA:SA, I used the controller for in-car controls and keyboard+mouse for everything else.
- EvilFerret, on 07/26/2008, -0/+2Yep....I was just looking at a article about it a couple of days ago and apparently it just talks about the console versions of GTA4 and a brief history on the series. So even though we all know GTA4 is going to come to PC eventually, I don't think they have any more info about it than the average consumer....
I wouldn't hold my breath on it coming to PC this year, probably mid 2009. I just wonder if the exclusive 360 content could possibly be included on the PC version.... I mean Microsoft did pay for most of the development..... Lets just hope. - horsepie, on 07/26/2008, -0/+2Thank God. No more jaggies (I've only played it on PS3, the Xbox 360 version could have antialiasing and I just don't know about it)
- gibler, on 07/26/2008, -1/+3The PC version is better because you get a much better frame rate making controlling the cars easier. Of course, breaking out a mouse makes any shooting just ridiculous easy. Then there are the mods.
One problem was flying stuff such as the helicopter but I guess you can just use a game controller e..g XBox 360 for such things. - dsmx, on 07/26/2008, -0/+2They can deny it all they want, the fact remain if it comes out on the xbox 360 then almost certainly it will be coming out on the PC
- BlackCow, on 07/26/2008, -1/+3Let the modding begin!
- Asianwaste, on 07/26/2008, -0/+2Both he and his kid dropped out of highschool and live in his mother's basement.
- inactive, on 07/26/2008, -0/+2Yeah you didn't fully understand my post. What I was saying was adding the "game console" part to the computer is 200 bucks, which is cheaper than any current gen console, and will probably last as long.
Also, go to bestbuy.com, PC's come with at least 3GB of ram if you buy over 600 bucks. If that still isn't good enough for you, buy from newegg. - Ramzy, on 07/26/2008, -1/+3Yeah, seriously. If a ***** little mod team can allow a game, that has absolutely no multiplayer component, to support 125 player online battles, then Rockstar should be able to ***** do it.
- SmellyGeekBoy, on 07/26/2008, -1/+3A ninja.
- Psythik, on 07/26/2008, -0/+2I really hope this rumor has some truth behind it. Because eventually all the multiplayer issues that R* is too lazy to fix on the consoles (like the lag glitch where your character will stand around for 5-10 seconds before getting into a vehicle, making you an easy target; or the problem with Cops n' Crooks being two rounds too short) will be taken care of by the modding community in the PC version.
- SmellyGeekBoy, on 07/26/2008, -0/+2I did for Max Payne and then Half-Life 2, and quite a few other games I've forgotten about. Perhaps some PC gamers need to get their heads out of their asses?
- Shaflugi, on 07/26/2008, -0/+2It's pretty nice that you don't have to deal with loading screens when entering buildings in GTA:SA PC. :)
- EviLiu, on 07/26/2008, -0/+2Just don't have any stupid ***** sound bugs in the PC version. San Andreas is not finished to this day. The final pc version has to be restarted every hour or so, unless you like to play in silence. I may have even purchased it, if it had worked.
- medfreak, on 07/26/2008, -1/+2Reality is superior.
- nonslip, on 07/26/2008, -0/+1good news but why still no word from rockstar, the lack of comunication from rockstar is realy taking the piss now.

Not a highend gamemachine but will play Crysis at 1920x1200 on medium and will blow any console away. - inactive, on 07/26/2008, -0/+1The Xbox version is just as bad.
- zdiggler, on 07/27/2008, -0/+1He's old enough. he don't know about Hot Coffee mod thought.
- inactive, on 07/26/2008, -0/+1You should read PC Zone then :)
- Asianwaste, on 07/26/2008, -0/+1It's very inaccurate. Yea I know it's coming, but nevertheless it's not coming yet. It's counting chickens before they are hatched.
- inactive, on 07/27/2008, -0/+1no it'll play it on high, averaging 25-30fps
up the processor to a 6000+ and it'll be a good solid 30fps minimum, (which is the official line of, you know, goodness).
oh and you dont need a 640GB hard drive, suggest a standard 80GB just to keep the price down, and its HIS option if he wants something bigger - Atomic1fire, on 07/26/2008, -0/+1batman+copkiller
