- gmiley, on 04/17/2008, -0/+34Yay, shorter elevator rides!! =)
- theaceoffire, on 04/17/2008, -6/+35Lets hope they don't drm this thing like Bioshock and Assassins Creed.
- kevdude421, on 04/17/2008, -1/+2512gb? For a console port? WTF?
- TheHayze, on 04/17/2008, -1/+19Those rec specs look pretty.. good, considering how nice the game looks. Well, good in terms for me, as I have a bit of an older system. I'll probably end up buying this, as it will definately run on my system at decent graphical settings.
Don't screw it up, bioware. - DanteDefiance, on 04/17/2008, -1/+17Oh come on Hayze...when was the last time Bioware screwed up? They have a seriously impressive track record.
On topic, I thought Mass Effect was freaking amazing. It's sad that folks brushed it off because it wasn't epic enough. I mean it's definitely one of the best RPG's to come out this gen. - inactive, on 04/17/2008, -1/+17We don't have to keep discs in our drives to play the game. Everything loads off a hard drive that's faster than the optical drive in the console. Shorter loading times (if any) is what we get.
- ViRaZ, on 04/17/2008, -12/+28Why do game publishers even bother to wright the 'minimum requirements'? It's like saying "Hey, you can install this and possibly play it."
- MrManiac, on 04/17/2008, -2/+18Write
- Tiesto, on 04/17/2008, -1/+15Have the 360 version but deffo picking it up for the PC. Same with Bioshock. Things just feel... better playing on the PC. Apart from the 42" HD TV, comfy sofa, girlfriend giving me head, 6.1 Audio, nice lighting, closer fridge with beer, pouffe to put my feet on and erm... did I mention the girlfriend?
Oh ok the girlfriend is a lie but the other stuff is cool :( - inactive, on 04/17/2008, -8/+19All the "I need to upgrade my computer to play this" posts are helping me make my decision about a 360. I do have a computer that can easily run this game (and even runs crysis at medium-high settings) but the constant hardware upgrades when they don't add anything new or revolutionary (combined with me switching over to OS X and having to reboot into Windows to game) are definitely pushing me towards a console.
- Makaveli604, on 04/17/2008, -2/+11?? I'm waiting for a phone call, because I completed the game and it's still working.

- elbekko, on 04/17/2008, -0/+9That's because Halo 2 was used as an incentive for Halo lovers to upgrade to Vista.
- willr001, on 04/17/2008, -1/+10The recommended requirements would cost you well under 400 dollars, assuming you had keyboard mouse display and OS already. I wouldn't pay 400 dollars for something that only plays games, but 400 dollars for something i use for everything from school work to television via media center, and also for some gaming is not a bad price.
- Tainek, on 04/17/2008, -2/+11£25 for a PC game, or £40 for a console game? ugh
- Makaveli604, on 04/17/2008, -2/+10assassins creed pirated fine on PC?
- Dweller99, on 04/17/2008, -0/+8I understand your point, but "constant"? I have not touched this machine in probably 18 months and it meets the recommended specs just fine. Admittedly at the time I put most of the cash into video, but I am a gamer, that is what we need to do.
- gcnaddict, on 04/17/2008, -3/+11For those of you who are about to complain about Vista needing twice as much minimum ram, the reason is simple:
Vista automatically allocates a portion of the ram to the video card automatically (even if the card has its own ram). As such, there's less ram for holding the game's contents. - theaceoffire, on 04/17/2008, -0/+8I want to play my favorite games without having to steal them after purchase for stability.
- logicalnoise, on 04/17/2008, -0/+8Mass effects really never pushes a whole lot of polygons. The environments were always deceptively smaller than you thought.
- davidjunit, on 04/17/2008, -1/+8Even their "recommended" requirements usually don't run the game perfectly.
- FizixMan, on 04/17/2008, -0/+7Hey, at least it's supporting Windows XP. I like how Halo 2 (an Xbox game) "required" Vista, yet Mass Effect (and a bunch of others), which are Xbox360 games still run on XP.
:-D - Zemnexx, on 04/17/2008, -0/+7Runs Fine? With the constant slowdowns and delayed texture loads...thats fine?
- Chromatik, on 04/17/2008, -0/+7AMD Athlon X2 4800+ s939
BFG GeForce 8800GTX OC2
2GB Corsair XMS DDR 400
Creative SB X-Fi Platinum
Windows XP SP2
Yay me for system specs.
I just hope they don't DRM it to hell and back. I still haven't played Bioshock on ANY platform for that reason, which sucks because I heard the game itself is very good.
A note to all game-houses and affiliated publishers: It's my computer and not yours so don't try to ***** it up please. A serial key and even a CD check if fine and with this I will pay for your product. Any installed DRM (especially that requires any significant effort on my part) will be either subverted or more likely your game will simply be blacklisted and not purchased. You have been warned. - Beerduck, on 04/17/2008, -0/+7Sounds like you should tune your TVs color settings. Never noticed anything like that myself.
- Dubbsacc, on 04/17/2008, -1/+7Uh, multiple DVD's?
- widgetmaker, on 04/17/2008, -0/+6Except plenty of games still run okay meeting just the min specs (total war springs to mind), Recommended are only really needed for the eye candy.
- shakin, on 04/17/2008, -0/+5I bet the pirated version has the phone home code disabled so once again anybody who pays for the game will get a more obtrusive version than anybody who pirates it.
- CeeJayDK, on 04/17/2008, -0/+5$400 360 console for games and a $500 - 600 PC to surf the internet (digg perhaps?) , read mail , edit photos , watch porn , do work and stuff
or a $ 800 PC that does everything ? - twtmc, on 04/17/2008, -0/+5Overclock your processor and you are good to go. Why did you waste your money on something that is Fatal1ty though?
- BearinG, on 04/17/2008, -0/+5Looks reasonable to me..
- matthew26, on 04/17/2008, -1/+5The system requirements are actually pretty low. Most people who have upgraded their hardware last year would have no trouble running the game.
- hybridcreation, on 04/17/2008, -0/+4Newegg will be happy to help you with that problem.
- mrelusive, on 04/17/2008, -0/+4Ready for round two?
- goblindegook, on 04/18/2008, -0/+4"We don't have to keep discs in our drives to play the game."
That is assuming you crack the DRM or use some form of authentication like Steam. - ApokalypseNow, on 04/17/2008, -0/+4KotoR2 was still a lot of fun, though I agree that it would be nice if the extra content had been finished and added.
- ApokalypseNow, on 04/17/2008, -0/+4I only recently got NWN2 and it just isn't as... engrossing as NWN1. I don't feel myself drawn to play the game day after day as I did with the first. Maybe I'm just not far enough in, but the game isn't grabbing me like its predecessor.
- Coven, on 04/17/2008, -0/+4BioWare didn't make KotOR2. Obsidian ***** that one up.
- Toober98, on 04/17/2008, -0/+4I agree with you on KOTOR2. However, KOTOR2 wasn't done by Bioware, it was done by Obsidian. Same difference between Neverwinter Nights and Neverwinter NIghts 2.
- Chromatik, on 04/17/2008, -0/+4Nope. DDR 400.
My setup is a socket 939 (Asus A8N-SLi), AMD didn't do DDR2 until socket AM2 if I recall - inactive, on 04/17/2008, -2/+5KotOR1 was great. KotOR2 would have been great if they had finished it.
- lithera, on 04/17/2008, -2/+5That doesn't say too much. My system is well below the minimum recommended specs for Assassins Creed and still it runs that game very fine.
Pirate the game, try it and then buy it is the credo if you have an older system :) - gcnaddict, on 04/17/2008, -0/+3I know that, but that's not my point. I'm stating why the minimum for Vista is 2.
- widgetmaker, on 04/17/2008, -0/+3Uh, specs for a major pc release are very diggable, there is a lot more inane content on here than this.
- cesclaveria, on 04/17/2008, -2/+5"... on my 360 ..."
- Dweller99, on 04/17/2008, -0/+3"Neverwinter NIghts 2" Which was also a disappointment.
- BearinG, on 04/17/2008, -0/+3Aren't PC gamers always saying how you can play a wide range of games because you can turn down the settings?
Sounds to me like this is why they have minimum.. that and the fact that almost no retail store allows returns on opened software
At least they might want to up the minimum so that at least the experience is "enjoyable" -
