What he highlights on the first page, about people who don't know what they want but ask for help anyway, is something I actually understand. Some of my friends are like that, they see me doing these things and they want in. Bleh, they think it's as easy as opening an exe in notepad and typing in 'make cool warp effect screen show!'.
Even other indie teams are a bit like that, they bight off more than they can chew. The most successful indie games tend to be the ones that are as simple as possible,r ight to the point cut through the ***** sort of things. Stragenly enough coming up with an original idea is becoming impossible for me, thanks to years of Nintendo and whatnot. I'm like 'a game that uses advanced physics where your sole goal is to destroy everything!' oh wait, that's blast corps 'only better', and it's pretty much like that all the time :( - RoninRa, on 04/10/2008, -0/+0It's a good article and I can't wait for part 2+ to come out too.
Inspired by this article, I also plan to do a research-sweep on the net to see other sources where this question has been answered, and post it on my blog.
