- spatimouth, on 10/29/2008, -0/+5I would seriously start a toon on a classic server if blizzard offered the option
- picosan, on 10/29/2008, -0/+3I remember when EQ did the same thing and man was that server packed. Think this should be a good move on their part and bring back the nostalgia of the older hardcore folks. Besides how much harder would it really be to maintain this type of server? You just install the original pack and never have to worry about updates or adds again, only PM's.
- famicom86, on 10/29/2008, -0/+2I'd be more than willing to reactivate my account if this were an option. It's basically the only way I'd come back. The Burning Crusade killed WoW for me.
- bluebomberman, on 10/29/2008, -0/+2I would also restart WoW if they opened an origins server. Read this site Blizzard!
- jcm91186, on 10/30/2008, -0/+1I could only see this bringing more revenue to Blizz. I do not have any intention of playing the xpac, but I would play old school WoW if I could again with my friends.
- elmuerte17, on 10/30/2008, -0/+1Aye... Blizz should read up. Even if people go out and buy a 6.99 copy of WoW on Boxing Day it's still added subs that might not happen otherwise from people that don't want to get screwed over when they don't buy the xpacs.
- Exhibitionist, on 10/30/2008, -1/+2You mean the good old days when less than 1% of players got anywhere near the end-game PVE content and when those same players dominated all aspects of PVP because of it? I've got news for you champ: those weren't good old days for 99% of the WoW player base.
- Noxy92, on 08/08/2009, -0/+0Ah yes, the time where it was big to lvl 60. When it took a long time with adventuring thorugh azeroth, a harder time, a time where you ahd to rest after each mob, not multi pull 20 mobs and one hit them. Epic was so big that i jizzed my pants when any of my firends got it and the old 60 instances were acctually challenging without any kind of heroic mod. You had to build up from greens, to blue, to your dungeon 1 set, farm fire resistance gear and do lot's of prequests to even get to go to your first raid. ( after getting a solid 40man raiding guild). In addition the brilliant rank system in pvp which made you keep at it and look foreward to the ranks where you could start gettign BLUE gear...:) ah yeah world pvp in the plaguelands... ah good time, good times. And tyrs hand and heartglen farming? mmmm. Well i will deffinetly start playing if bliizard made offiicial origins servers for us, and I hope they will in the future, now LET OUR VOICES BE HEARD AND TO THY BIDDING BLIZZARD! (whatever that means...)
- lvitriol, on 09/14/2009, -0/+0I would play if there was 60 and 70 servers.
- jayman17, on 08/03/2009, -0/+0World of Warcraft at it's finest.
- looke1234, on 12/15/2008, -0/+0The good old days..... loved the time when it was hard to get a epic, when you could be proud when you got it and brag to your friends in rl about it. and the pvp.... stupide resilience! hate it, cant to ***** with pve gear in pvp anymore.... and the pvp epics are so easy to get, just fix a AV bott and you have full s2 in 4-6 days -.-
- faidwen, on 10/29/2008, -0/+0FOR DAGMARN
- bluebomberman, on 10/31/2008, -0/+0To a certain extent you got a point, PvP gear when it came out was junk bested by Tier 1 gear, but I think what these guys got in mind is to pick and choose features to put into these "origins" servers. When I quite TBC things were the opposite of what you described, PvP gear was king, and PvE gear was a joke, but if the ethos of great PvE gear *and* PvP gear were to be put together there could be a dynamic environment for players in a level 60 server. Of course this requires a great amount of balancing on the part of the developers, so it's important to recognize that this origins server is not to simply turn back the clock and plop us into March 2005, but to take a measured approach that addresses the problems of Raider Vs. Battlegrounder, Honor system Vs. DKP, and Gear Vs. Ability and wrapping it all up in the definitive World of Warcraft package, that is, through pre-expansion content.
- grawss, on 04/15/2009, -0/+0Loved pre-BC to the core and put up with BC, but Wrath absolutely killed the game for me. If they want me $15 a month back, they're going to have to do one of two things: Remove Death Knights, or create a classic server (and I mean classic, not with those horrible as hell arenas).
Death Grip is so incredibly annoying, and try moving as a shaman against a death knight--impossible.
