- AgonThalia, on 10/28/2007, -1/+5Oh yeah, LotRO definately deserves this honor.... since launch, the games expanded by 20% and added hundreds of new quests and stuff. Its an amazing game i could play for years.
- Big_H, on 10/27/2007, -1/+4Yeah LoTR:O is an awesome game. It is so much fun running around Middle Earth, taking part in the adventures of the Fellowship of the Ring. And the world looks awesome, even on a sub-par system. The in-game community is generally really friendly and helpful. The official forums however... they're normal official forums, lots of whining and bitching, with some good people mixed in.

- Jrr6415sun, on 10/27/2007, -0/+1If you want an mmo with a great world this is it. I actually feel like i'm helping when doing quests and I enjoy reading them. It is definitely the best new mmo i've played this year. That being said, it does have MANY flaws, that will hopefully be fixed... but when that will be I don't know.
- kazamx, on 10/27/2007, -0/+1This isn't a good MMO for people who don't like to read. I have friends who play wow who boast about never bothering to read quest text. LOTRO is very story driven. the individual quests, quest chains and epic quest series are VERY story driven. If you don't like reading your missing out on a huge part of the game.

- Courdar, on 11/15/2007, -0/+0Are you kidding? Unless your computer is a Mac or an Atari, you can play LotRO. You just have to turn down the graphics. They are still really beautiful on the lowest setting.... better than DX10 AoC... but your field of vision is very limited and it would be advisable to team up. Something you DON'T have to do in this game except for the Epic Book Instances... and they are HARD.... No little WoW Warlocking around them at lower lvls. BUT thanks to the in-game voice chat you can easily assemble a group (most servers are WAY over-populated) with almost everything you need ... not sure about Minstrels... they were in short supply a while ago, but everyone I know is now playing a Min.

I totally agree though, it's something new, fresh, updated quite frequently with new chapters and really amazing. I think they have followed Tolkien lore quite well considering. - Courdar, on 11/15/2007, -0/+0It may be for YOUR style of game playing but it's nothing innovative or NEW compared to LotRO... It's the 1st game to dice up the dumber than mud WoW crowd and bring those with a few brain-cells to a more intelligent game. They're very comfortable in Middle Earth since they are using the familiar interface Blizzard STOLE years ago from Turbine.
In Middle earth you won't be subjected to insults from 1337 h4XX045 if you're new to gaming.

It's NOT going to be surprise when and where ever LotRO picks up all the big prizes.
This is just a little early pre-cursor. LotRO has only averaged about 9.9 out of 10 on EVERY gaming site, mag and forum.
