- Zero2aHero, on 01/13/2008, -0/+1It's interesting how people thought WoW was going to lead us to a new frontier where it would be popular and acceptable for online games to justify the $15 per month subscription fee. Publishers expected people who played WoW to latch onto other games with subscription fees. Three years later that still hasn't happened... so it looks like publishers are in the end going to have to make games have no monthly fee in order to STEAL WoW players back.
So WoW ended up having an opposite effect on the rest of the industry.
