- CAPTCALAMITY, on 10/11/2007, -1/+47Regardless of real money being able to be bartered for virtual assets. cheating by game developers is disgusting. This isn't the first time this has happened, so why would anyone pay money to these scoundrels? I for one am not going to be playing EVE anymore or purchasing any future CCP products.
- Jacobey000, on 10/11/2007, -11/+56Dear CCP,
Once again, it seems that several of your employees have been up to no good. We'll get into the details a little later, but the highlights are quite juicy: CCP employees abusing their roles to join player corporations and give themselves director access, RP-events being rigged and what I really thought we were over, further fraternization between your employees and members of BoB and the subsequent cover-up. These latter two events actually stem from the same source, a former ISD member.
Let us begin with CCP Sharkbait joining the corporation "DarkStar 1" and giving himself director access. This was not preceded by a customer service request that would in any shape, way or form require a CCP employee to join the corporation. Less then one minute after joining the corporation, he added the role "Director" to himself, roughly fourteen minutes later, he leaves the corporation and surrenders the role.

* http://images.goonfleet.com/images/ccp/CCP%20charkbait%202.png
Upon learning of this, corporate officers from DarkStar 1 immediately filed a petition in an effort to discover the reasons for this. This petition was promptly deleted and CCP Sharkbait would not respond to in-game conversations.
Why would a CCP Employee ever join a corporation without being asked to do so or any prior communication indicating that this would take place?
Why was the petition filed by officials from DarkStar 1 deleted with no response or reason?
The second part of this sordid story is best told "as is". Below I've included the account of one Raekhan, a former member of ISD. His story is two-fold and will encompass both the rigging of RP-events, as well as the fraternization between members of BoB and CCP and its cover-up.
Without further ado, here is Raehkan's Story:
My apologies for the long delay.
I promised myself not to get involved in what, at the time, I called "An internet nerd revenge scheme' that was this issue, I felt that bringing this stuff to light would be cheap, and silly, and completely beneath anyone who was actually able to 'move on'....
Months after, I planned to re-evaluate....that time has passed, I still have no desire to play EVE, and thus, I can tell you some things....
please PM me with an email address (any email you so choose) to attach a file or two to...
Now, my story....
I am also known as Graelyn, a (once) big RP-community-guy. I was the executor of the Aegis Militia Alliance. (We kicked the Bloodraider NPC group out of the Bleak Lands Region, and recently stomped those StarFraction people.)
The AM guys guys are great GREAT people, and since the below incident ocured, they have safeguarded a very bad secret for a very long time, one that would ensure the dissolution of the RP community we tried so hard to maintain....
Mirial, once the executor of my Alliance, was banned, the center of what would be referred to as the 'Tetrimon OOC affair'.
What occured was this:
Several members of the alliance Aegis Militia were ISD members (completely in regulations and living that double-life as it was intended to be played, by the rules), however, Mirial, who was once an ISD member, managed to get the login/PW info to an ISD forum from a director of her corp who happened to be in ISD. (How this happened is still a mystery even to me, I am still inquiring)...
Basically, Mirial was accessing an AURORA website illegally, and was banned for it (Something I cannot in any theory disagree with, NDA was broken, and similarly, I can't argue with YOUR banning from EVE, sir...try to understand....), but it was the nature of the thing that caused so much distress....
You see, ISD claims that events are not rigged, that RP groups can influence the events in the world. This is a lie, and one that, after discovering, I did not reveal, in the fears that it would demolish the already on-the-ropes RP community in EVE.
AM already had suspicions, as by the end of the Tetrimon affair, we had been involved in more events that ANY other group in EVE without exception. In the course of this we often 'succeeded' in events that we later realized were not meant to be won, then watched as AURORA actors deperately lost the scenario (when actors have to resort to self-destructing thier own ships in the middle of battle, you know you have an ulterior motive underway in the story...*groan*...)
Mirial was in browsing (illegally) one of these ISD forums when one of the 'recommended' story paths was mandated by CCP, namely "_____ side must win, see to this immediately."
Upon reading this decree by CCP, Mirial showed his cards and revealed all on our alliance's Vent server.
2 hours after bringing this up in our Ventrillo channel, Mirial was banned from EVE...for telling his Alliance members what was up. Turns out I was only one of many members of ISD in my Alliance, and the others had hit the alarm to the ISD dept heads as soon as this talk beagn in our private Vent server....
Within 30 minutes (of the reveal in vent) I had 2 AURORA members convoing us INGAME, OOC, trying to play down the fact. The two in question argued with Mirial, but did NOT deny that rigging was going on, rather emphasising that it was all for 'The Greater Good'.
At the same time, Nebulai, Head of the ISD program, convoed ME (I was second in command of AM, an ISD-InterstallarCorespondents member, and a Mirial banning process was already in motion by 10-minutes into this, I was the primary focus of all damage control efforts), telling a different story, namely that RIGGING NEVER OCCURS, that all I had been hearing was nonsense....
AT THE SAME TIME, the document that I will give to you, was being sent to me by SEP-DOGAL, the AURORA tier 3 producer in charge of the Tetrimon Arc. He was sending it to me to show how much work had been done/lost with the arc, not realizing that the last paragraphs SPECIFICALLY DETAILED HOW THE ARC COULD BE RIGGED TO SUIT THE FINAL CCP DESCISION.
The only hint anyone else who played EVE got as to what had occured, came from this post:
http://myeve.eve-online.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=405843
With that, all said 'compromised' arcs were completely terminated, and all events in the matter hushed up quickly. The RP community has longed cursed Mirial's name for 'ruining' all of these arcs, unaware that he was banned for trying to bring this to the community's attention....AM held thier tongues for the good of that community, even after months of *****-talk...they never spoke....bless-em....
It was a serious palm-to-forehead moment. It was the day I relized how ***** up the game was.
It did not stop there.
Eventually, RP being ruined for me, I focused explicitly on my ISD char (His name was Raekhan, a reporter with the ISD for 1.5 years at his termination)
Complaining about the way Raekhan was banned seems odd to me, considering how much I was able to use him to understand 0.0 realities in a way Alliance leaders can barely approach (I was an Empire-space RP-alliance leader, so conflicts-of-interest never became a problem, and with Raekahn, EVERY DAY I was able to simply jump and watch, from perfect safety, any offensive any Alliance happened to be engaging in. I used my jumpdrives more than any other person in CCP for sure....), but the day I lost Raekhan?
Sickening and Stupid on the part of CCP, seriously, how could you ever accept the following as proper and effective damage control???
I was floating around in my Polaris frig, watching one of the massive, 270+-in-local battles in the south, BOB vs COALTION, BoB had already destroyed thier second POS in the system....when I 'text-jumped' (using admin "tr/ 'playername' jumpto command) to a certain Dread pilot I knew was in the action. Doing so teleports a polaris frig to that players ship...at 1 FOOT distance. I jumped to this position and immediately orbitted the gaggle of 20 dreads at 80KM, standard operating proceedure for ISD reporters....
A minute later, Daakon, of BoB, began yelling in local "Hey, Reporter, you bumped our dread!!!" This was a falsehood, since the dread I jumped to was on the outside of the group and I made sure not to do just that.
I ignored him. A year and a half of Reportering and you get used to ALL BoB members trying to order/bully you around. It is a common practice (WAY TOO GODDAMN COMMON) that ISD members are ordered to completely ignore.
Eventually, Mr. Daakon began giving me DIRECT ORDERS. "You must leave the system. Now. Move, you *****!!"
My response?
"Um...no?"
Their response was pretty indicative of the manner in which BoB is used to ordering CCP personnel around...in LOCAL CHANNEL of 250+, Daakon replied:
"Well, I guess I'll have to call up my friends in CCP and get you dealt with."
I was sitting in ISD's IRC channel, as is required anytime you are logged in as an ISD char, and I decided to inform my dept. head of this development. He seemed amused....
Until 40 seconds later....
ISD IRC acounts have a lot of symbols in their usernames. They signify time-in-service, department membership, and other things, but after 40 seconds, a BRAND NEW userID appeared, bereft of any such demarcations or designations...an illegal and brand new ID...
"Hey, anyone know some reporter named Raekhan!?"
Me:"Um, yeah, that's me."
"LEAVE THAT SYSTEM NOW, YOU ARE EMBARRASSING THE ISD AND CCP THE COMPANY!!"
< Me: ORLY!?
My ISD BOSS: 'ORLY!'
the next minutes were interesting, as my ISD-IC dept head began briefing me on the minbute-by-minute actions of the internal affairs team (formed after your T-20 revelation I should point out) LEAPED on this matter in seconds.
Me: "So I guess a BoB director claiming he has CCP buddies at his beckon call, and the fact that said buddy showed up 40 sec later, will raise some heads at CCP?"
Boss: "Oh, I think it already has...."
Me: "Well, at least something good will come from all this mess..."
Boss: "We have his IP address."
Boss: "He's posting from CCP, he's Staff."
Boss: He's in the QA department...."
*after long pause*
Boss: Well, I'll tell you how this goes tomorrow, take care, Rae..."
I signed off.
Turns out, within 3 hours, every ISD-related account I had was banned.
ISD-ingame char, banned. Forum-ISD, banned. EVE-Online.com Admin access, banned. AURORA-TEAMSPEAK, banned. The freaking ISD-COUNTERSTRIKE server, banned. I never recieved an email explaining it.
Every email I have sent to the comany politely asking for even a corp-speak explaination for this has been ignored. The company refuses to admit I exist.
I was banned for reporting a serious conflict-of-interest to my 'chain-of-command' within the company....
My character, free to play as a side-benefit of doing work for CCP, was disabled, asking for funds to restart....
...and that's the day I walked away....I have never looked back , and the games and projects I've become involved with since then have made me wish I hadn't wasted the 3 years I played EVE....
Everything I speak of here will be very 'circumstantial' evidence, un-totally-backable events that fanboys will decry as the bitter musings of another EVE dissident.
Let them think this. I truly do gain pleasure from the axiom of 'a fool and his money are soon parted' and would wish nothing from the majority of the EVE community than to keep sending thier money to this once-great-company-now-conglomerate that I once recruited dozens of players to with conviction.
It took a lot to convince me of the truth, and not even the 'caught-red-handed' events that YOU exposed to the community could break my fanboy shell....till I saw it myself and kicked myself for being a naive idiot...
I do not fear CCP's NDA prosecutions, as they possess no hard copy of said document...thank goodness for premature admissions to the program (I never mailed them the required paperwork, but got in anyway, a move I am glad now to have done).
Anyhow, that's my story.
None of my enemies ever realized just who I was, and what I could have abused to hurt them. This too is alright by me. Video games are a stupid thing to measure one's dick-size with, a fact that many seem slow to realize....
(You may quote the entirety of the preceeding text verbatim if you wish. My time in CCP/EVE is long over,. All preceding text is your to use as you wish. I actually do feel a bit dirty being a cog in this very crooked 'crowd control' system, and attempts to reveal it as such to anyone will escape my notice, I am too involved with other projects to care. Best of luck in your efforts....you were right...I was a fool....)
If you print anything, print this.
"Graelyn: I was naive. Istvaan, you were right, too damned right, more than you may ever realize, you *****....."

Orange Species merely needs MSN to get CCP help, according to this log.
Employees of CCP are conducting themselves in an unbecoming manner with regards to interfering in the game world. First there was the T20 incident in the past, with the creation of Tech2 blueprints by an employee who also happened to be the leader of RKK corp's capital fleet, which were then handed to members of BoB. After the debacle this caused, I was quite shocked, nay stunned to learn that this relationship is still ongoing and quite healthy indeed. Then we discovered that Nebulai, head of the notoriously corrupt Aurora RP department, was a member of EVOL corp by the name of M Hoshi. And now today we discover that CCP Admiral Chamrajnagar is at the beck and call of BoB capital pilots.
I won't bore either of us with whiny details of how you enable cheating, stealing and an unbalanced environment, we've been over that. I will however try and instill a sense of urgency in you. This is a serious situation and it warrants the highest levels of attention on your part.
Sincerely,
The Customer. - alphex, on 10/11/2007, -0/+39As a long time eve player, from the beta even, the scandals that have rocked the community recently are reaching a critical mass.
Its time CCP does something, for real this time, about the abuses the players are facing. - jwl23, on 10/11/2007, -5/+42Band of Developers amirite?
- jbob2000, on 10/11/2007, -0/+31Really unfortunate to hear this. It was bad the first time around, but a second time?
This just in, as a result of the link posted in the article being spammed on the forums, the moderators have disabled the forums. - Brackhar, on 10/11/2007, -0/+30With issues like this, I don't know why people still give CCP money.
- yenrich, on 10/11/2007, -0/+26CCP are now banning every account that has spam ingame/outgame about this story. Now WE WANT ANSWER!! Why Mods are Cheating, Why Devs are cheating!! Now all they do is trying to shut this down by closing the forums, closing the rookie channel, closing the help channel. Is this normal to pay for this when all they are doing is giving BOB a BIG advantage and letting to use all Game Mechanics exploit!!
- Alphabet, on 10/11/2007, -2/+26I don't play eve, but I'll digg this story because the drama + ensueing trolling will give massive lols.
- traveler19, on 10/11/2007, -3/+24outrageous!! Please help this by digging! Although It isn't WOW related, it's newsworthy to me.
- kabojnk, on 10/11/2007, -0/+21Update, EVE Online's website temporarily shut down its forums. Don't know of this is to prevent reposting of the open letter, but the timing sure is funny enough to make note of this.
- zapgun2358, on 10/11/2007, -1/+22I cancelled my Eve account after the first Scandal involving BoB having access to advanced tech. I'm sorry to hear that things haven't changed much. This game has a lot of promise. I don't think that thier employees should be allowed to have characters. They clearly can't control them.
- notjaykay, on 10/11/2007, -1/+22And from the files of SUPERIOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.....
hahaha, wait a sec.. - Nichael, on 10/11/2007, -0/+21The saddest part about all this is EVE is by far the best MMORPG in existence. It actually attempts to give the player true freedom, something other MMORPGs replace with grinds, levels, and fancy end-game uber loot. But, I have absolutely no respect for CCP anymore. It's obvious that EVE is rigged, and CCP apparently is hell bent on destroying their own masterpiece.
- Owenby, on 10/11/2007, -0/+20Yes, they shutdown their forums because they had a lot of players posting about this. So shutting down their forums and giving bans out is their way of dealing with it.
- SultanTravi, on 10/11/2007, -2/+22Yeah, that's dirty. It's a shame because EVE always intrigued me. It just looks so awesome. It's like everybody's dream--to guide a ship through space and make your own way selling things, mining, or being a PIRATE.
The monthly fee is what used to prevent me from playing. This scandalous behavior only reinforces that. - Lyme, on 10/11/2007, -1/+19CCP resolution methods only include: deleting posts and banning players that are not in Band Of Brothers.

Disband BoB and all member corps.
Delete all physical assets.
ISK assets are split evenly among member players.
Fire any devs who are discovered in the future to be cheating or using exploits. - FuckTheSystem, on 10/11/2007, -1/+19Events that shocked EVE community after Kugutsmen got busted are the main of ever happened on the backstage in the world of EVE since its creation.
- Guilty?
- Oh yeah, he is. But he is the first and the last., - said CCP.
Well, thats a typical form of sacrifice to stay untoched by potatoes and eggs that can be thrown at the big man.
We all have people that we like, and some that we hate or ignore. So, don't you want to help your beloved in any way?
So, there some people that have enpugh power to make some dreams come true. In EVE they be GMs and Devs. We will call them super-pilots in this story.
They can help theirselves, by the way, too. But they have to operate "the masquerade" ( o/ White Wolf) so the Kugutsmen's fate would not repeat.
T20 wasnt punished for his deeds but for his fail to remain stealthy. One director loved to say phrase "I fire you not because you got drunk but beacause you got caught" before firing an employee that came to work drunk.
So, stages of big love and most beloved.
In the beginning of the EVE there were not so many strong corporations and time was needed for some corporations and pilots to fade others.
And the super-pilots was in need of a corporation that could be their hands in EVE. That existed and were famous as skilled and strong. Like legendary m0o Corp or unnoficial Stain Alliance.
Do you remember antic Greek myths? The one where gods argued which mortal is the best? Well, you got it right here.
But the war needs to be supported materially.
Its hard to imagine a PvP pilot sitting on his barge and chocking on veldspar so he could make himself a battleship.
"Pfft", you will say, "you can get 'nuf money to buy a bs just killing npc in zeroes for 12 hours!". Yes, you can. Nowadays.
But in 2003 year the best bounty you could find in zeroes was... 50k isk! This isn't too much, i'll say you.
The favourite Apocalypse' price was floating around 125m isk and the BPC's one was 9m isk. But m0o had no problems with stuff. They were not hunting or mining. Their work was to shoot people.
And the supplies were made by powerfull industrial corporation Asgard Industries, that had all the ship BPOs within the first month of EVE running official. Far before the Hadeyan Drive Yards.
And the CEO of this corp was just an Iceland guy named Mjolnir. m0o was and still is a legendary corporation, famous for their's actions like mass genocide of CONCORD and other fun :)
They were banned for such "exploits". But who said that they were removed from the game? Super-pilots understood that these guys saw EVE's world from the different position. Hell yeah, they even did that CPP wasnt thinking about when they were creating the game.
But m0o could not tackle a whole alliance, if there would be one. So a triad was made - m0o/RUS/Sinister, that could not be defeated by any force in known EVE. Except the Stain Alliance... That was a "favourite" too, but for some other big men...
So, what was the Stain Alliance? It was a pack of corportions that controlled three regions: Stain and two other regions, that were named with letters and digitals (they are known now as Estoria and Paragon Soul).
And there were no lots of ways to get from one region to another. Everyone had to go through DSS-EZ system, that were blobbed for 23 hours in a day.
The strongest of the alliance were MASS, The Collective, Omega Corp, Seraphin Technologies, Everlasting Vendetta and some others. Heh, The Collective was 95% icelandic corporation and one of the first in SA (Stain Alliance).
The Hand of this alliance wasnt too silent and stealthy. They even killed some Jovian admiral that dropped an item called Miner V "Nibelung". Yes, V is for 5. FIVE.
He was a main figure in the event that was planned for explaining of how this item got into EVE. But admiral got lost 50 jumps away from his target system and was ganked. Noob :P
Are you sure that it was the only such item in EVE? Think twice. Everyone that was accepted into SA received a gift - fully fitted battleship.
Well, that lasere was soon traded-in for Miner II BPC. A very, very worthy item.
I bet noone knew about Techell corporation before they received a Miner II BPO for their "great sucess in production and science sphere".
Online database of items that Taggart Transdimensional had looks even more strange. There were info's of ALL devices, through to tech level 5 (five) ones. They did a long way to kill the Jovian guy too. From their home region Venal to Stain, to assist MASS in the "event". But the superiors of this alliance soon abandoned SA, so they could focus on other, more interest people.
Sinister and RUS soon joined the CA (Curse Alliance). And their struggle with SA got some new fuel to burn.
Some even forgot about the earlier deeds, done by the super-pilots. m0o was flying around with their old friends for some time and then flew to Querious and future Delve and Period Basis regions. Now thats familiar, isnt it?
There lived the "flower children" - hippies of EVE named Coalition of Free Stars. Deafeated by 30 pilots, alliance consisted of 1500 members, had to give up their terrytory. m0o sold the regions back for 4 billion isk and went into cryogenic sleep for unknown time.
Meanwhile corporations named Reikoku and Evolution (Evol was the main corp in Fountain Alliance, along with BIG and Xanadu) became very powerful, really fast. Well, they had some smart guys at the wheel from m0o, Finite Horizon and CoW. Two of them were second and third m0o's labels.
So, why m0o was closed? "Personal motives of their leader". Then, part of m0o quits it for other corporation that lives in Fountain. Thats 40 jumps from m0o's home systems that were located in south. So, what for?
This looks very strange. If you dont know future.
Time - the day before THE patch. It will add trans-regional "highways" and captureable outposts (three for every region).
In the very southern part of Fountain where highway will be opened three hundred pilots are waiting for something. Maybe for another Jovian admiral? Nope.
Shortly after the server was brought online the spot divides and captures all the three regions, under the claim of Reikoku and Fountain Alliance. CFS tried to resist, but they were dealt with swiftly. So they had to mine under 50% refining tax. Thats when BoB started to hoard money.
Soone, Evolutions quits FA to make a new alliance with Reikoku. Band of Brothers be its name. Fully official, baby yeah!
CFS splits into corporations that create two new alliances, Firmus Ixion and Xelas. They still serve their master, BoB.
Now the empire had to raise their finances. Delve was ideal for it. It had NPC and plexes (bugged as we know now) and all the deep zeroes minerals like Ark, Merc and moons fully stocked with resources. Just 5 jumps between these money bags.
Say hello to Delve region. Why not Esoteria or Detorid? Well, maybe someone didnt like their names or something?
Here comes ISS and MC. ISS (amen) was a hydra with a very sharp eyes and sensible ears that could support empire with info of whats going on in every region, every outpost and plex. Also, ISS maintainined web of jump POSes that can take BoB fleet of any size to any end of the galaxy. Now thats an alliance that can satisfy a super-pilot!
Meanwhile, war raged on south-east. After the end of CA, RUS Team lagalized its existance as Red Alliance. Aracane Technologies, Black Omega Security, Black Reign, Shinra and Supremacy created an alliance named The Five [5]. They were believed to be the future second to BoB force. Well, they were believed.
XETIC was done with by The Five, fast enough to boast. Some XETIC survivors created Ascendant Frontier [ASCN] alliance.
The Five was supposed be the enemies for BoB in future. But. Their greed was the spark that started the war with RA. It was the war of great dedication, fore some. But other saw the faded side as one-way lagfest and chained POS shutdowns. I do not believe in coinsedences or server's priorities in processing of data. The Five lost the war anyway, and ATUK (that believed to be the main losers) rename as Destructive Inluence and goes to BoB.
Also, the Lotka Volterra alliance was formed out of ruins. Lotka and Volterra are second names of scientists that found out predator bacteries' reproducing mechanics. Soon after they returned to their homewolrd they set up a coalition with Veritas Immortalis (former SA) and some forceless alliances like KOS (trash from SA, mostly Omist MASS' slaves), RISE (remains of former FA that simply died without Evolution) and so on. The Story repeats - war with REDs including old and proved lagfests, pos shutdowns and GMs all over the battlefield. Lets wave them.
So, who is the puppetmaster? SirMolle? Hah, he is a very odious figure, famous for its alomost Gebbels speeches. But he wasnt a good PvP pilot, neither he was a good leader. HE is the puppet.
Strategy is still made by smart boys from m0o like DigitalCommunist, TWD, Stavros and some others. They are trusted to make an empire that must crush even new formed anti-bob coalition (we all know "who is who" here).
And, if something goes wrong they always can handicap the system :) - AztecD, on 10/11/2007, -0/+17I have ben playing EVE for 1year now and i can say that BoB=CCP is just bad for bussines
- rueben26, on 10/11/2007, -0/+17Can we update - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eve_online#Developer_Misconduct to account for today's findings? CCP may block stuff on their forums, but they can't deny wiki.

- kingdead, on 10/11/2007, -0/+14As I wrote somewhere else earlier today, perhaps they'll just add a new internal internal affairs dept. to make sure that the existing internal affairs dept. isn't up to no good.
- RadicalPoultry, on 10/11/2007, -0/+14I'm amazed at their response to this coming up on the forums. When they start locking and deleting all threads that expose them and eventually shutting down the entire forum when they cant control it reeks of corruption. CCP has some explaining to do.
- i88gerbils, on 10/11/2007, -0/+14CCP's problem is no longer just cheating, but a complete and utter failure to listen to their players. Although it is a good PR gimmick to ignore and delete bad press on your own forums simply deleting healthy discussion is poisonous in the long run. CCP has created an environment where few players will trust them. Instead, CCP should NOT have immediately deleted discussion about this incident.
That's all they had to do. NOT delete a forum thread where people could discuss the merits and flaws of a situation. When they deleted that thread it just pissed people off to the extent that they took down CCP's ability to manage their forums. As well, banning players for linking to this very DIGG link in a help channel where players were discussing the situation was pretty immature.
This sort of thing will repeatedly happen until CCP realizes how to respond. No internal affairs committee or dev blogs will stop this. To rebuild trust they need to promote *healthy* discussion of situations when they do occur only deleting posts that serve to spam. - Brantoc, on 10/11/2007, -0/+14I have been though crap at one MMO,
Star Wars Galaxies was a game destroyed by it's developers because they were not Star Wars fans, and wanted a WOW-Galaxies. The game went to 20% of subscribers it had, now it's part of the multigame pass, so numbers are misleading.
Now I'm an EVE player, and the game developers again are destroying the game, this time from the inside. My accounts run out in July July July July Aug Aug Aug, and that will be the end.
Sad thing is, this is by far the best MMO I've ever played, and it's destroyed because people in high places want to win at all costs. - XivGNP, on 10/11/2007, -0/+14This is incredibly entertaining to read, especially if you've never, ever played EVE. You do realise that, in a previous witch hunt, the fact that many of us speak to the devs / gm's / employees of CCP on a regular basis as friends is already common knoweldge?
**********************************************************************************
nooooo. a lot of us Do Not speak on a regular basis to the devs and GM's.
a lot of us do not have the devs / GM's on MSN
Not everyone ingame is the leader of a large alliance / corporation.
The fact that BoD can get an ISD reporter banned for an alleged bump is sickening and needs to be fixed.
I didnt know that BoD pets will come defend BoD on digg. - Bruddah, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11Even the most amateur public relations wonk would know better than to respond to something like this with bans and forum closure. I always thought that Iceland was a pretty progressive country, and hoped it would spread to business there, but it seems that CCP is instead taking their strategy from the PRC and USSR. It isn't like this is some kind of anti-EVE propaganda, this is an open letter regarding what appears to be serious ethical lapses by their staff. The only answer is complete transparency and disclosure. After the last episode, this could be a killing blow to what was an incredibly intricate and enjoyable game.
- laserblazer, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11You have to be a pretty huge loser to cheat your own game into oblivion.
- Fmaar, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12Again?
Completely disgusting.
If CCP doesn't come up with good answers fast, I think its time to move onto another game. - ColonelCornhole, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11"Corporation petitioned CCP GM's to fix one of their POS, which was bugged. GM did so and now GoonSwarm is trying to use this event to damage their enemies. Way to go goonies, but you still cant win this war, regardless of how much real life money you sank into buying all the dread pilots."
erm, have you even read anything on the forums? DS1 didn't even have a POS at that time and absolutely did not file a petition to have a GM come fix their POS. Go check DS1's CEO's In Game Bio then try to come up with another explanation defending the GM's actions. - nreisan, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11everyone in game already hates bob
and for most of you who comment here and dont actually play eve online, most of the actions taken by BOB/developers wouldnt even affect you unless you were quite a hardcore player/been playing for some time - lewsid, on 10/11/2007, -2/+12Diggnaught achieved. Commence Slashnaught.
- eeagain, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10It must be nice to be able to just join whatever corp you want to find out what your rivals are building and where. I think its about time the players organized a mass cancellation...give ccp a nice black Thursday like the SWG players did to Sony a few years ago.
- Suplyndmnd, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10Heh, apparently CCP doesn't visit Digg. Else, they'd know the dangers of censoring and deleting posts :)
- BannedFromEve, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10I just got banned for posting a link to this page. I am a newb who has never had anything to do with BoB or anyone else. BS. I was paid up three months in advance.
- retral, on 10/11/2007, -5/+15"Yeah, that's dirty. It's a shame because EVE always intrigued me. It just looks so awesome. It's like everybody's dream--to guide a ship through space and make your own way selling things, mining, or being a PIRATE.
The monthly fee is what used to prevent me from playing. This scandalous behavior only reinforces that."
FYI, the only players really complaining about this are the players from the huge alliances. As a loner ingame, I don't depend on any friends to get my riches - and that basically means that this issue is really a non-issue when it comes to my concern.
Yeah, bury me now because I'm debunking this stuff. - ningyoushi, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9I am shocked CCP has sunk so low. :(
- Darkwolfie, on 10/11/2007, -1/+10And for ppl who don't know eve and don't know who bob are and how big it is.. http://dl.eve-files.com/media/corp/crii/20.05.109.jpg

- animex, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9Was looking for a new MMO -- I guess EVE won't be it.
- radi0w0mbat, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9They can't even run the one they have properly and they're starting another one? Unbelievable.
- OttoMaddox, on 10/11/2007, -1/+10Admiral_Chamrajnagar: ok anyone know an ISD named rekan?
Macayle: why?
[IC]Raekhan: I'm right here.
Admiral_Chamrajnagar: you need to leave that system
Admiral_Chamrajnagar: you are making an ass of yourself

[IC]Tsuki facepalms
Admiral_Chamrajnagar: the local player base asked him to politly stop pushing dreads
Admiral_Chamrajnagar: that were undergoing a siege operation
[IC]Raekhan: I was not pushing a dread.
[IC]Raekhan: I'm 70KM away.
Admiral_Chamrajnagar: it does not matter.. posting in local "no"
Admiral_Chamrajnagar: and that "your not going away"
Admiral_Chamrajnagar: and that all you hear is "static"
Admiral_Chamrajnagar: and to complain to eris discordia
Admiral_Chamrajnagar: is not helpfull at all
Cortes: which wouldn't do much good given I'm the IC VA - patch6, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9The devs are stupid for mixing business with pleasure like this. Their bottom line is to generate user interest and profitability, and tilting the game in favor of the dev team's cronies is guaranteed to alienate its existing customer base, while tarnishing the game's image.
Idiotic, all around. - CaptainGordon, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9eve-o is down ahahahaha
Threadnaught havent brakes - Rrroot, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9Somebody stop CCP from rigging the game like this.
