- DeathJux, on 10/11/2007, -2/+144In other news, Duke Nukem Forever and Spore will be packaged together and given the comical title of "Evolve and Destroy."
- deathromp, on 10/11/2007, -2/+106Duke Nukem Forever is exactly that, I don't care what anybody says, this is a running joke, a way for Duke Nukem to last forever. Even if they did come out with another real game I think it would be impossible to live up to the hype. That said I would still be happy to see it. Hail to the King Baby!
- AwesomeMonster, on 10/11/2007, -0/+66They got balls of steel...
- passivejj, on 10/11/2007, -9/+61Wow, 10 years of development and all we get is this lousy scan? This is pathetic. What have they been doing all these years? I'm sure they'll release this game soon, right after they change to the Unreal engine 3, then Doom 4, Unreal 4, 5, 6, etc....
- str3ama, on 10/11/2007, -2/+51wow it looks exactly like Half Life 1 played at 640x480 (like opening scene where enter the experiment machine)
- charlescheese, on 10/11/2007, -1/+44Why the hell would they even bother to release a miserable screen shot like this? It doesn't make any sense. I call shenanigans.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+42DNF is the Big Foot/Loch Ness monster of the internet. People want so badly to believe it's real, yet all evidence points to it being fictitious, if not a complete hoax. Every once in a while some tourist (blog) pops up with a new picture of one of it's humps (screen shot) or a blurry video of it running through the woods and everyones' hopes are restored..for a little while.
If they keep this up, DNF could easily become the greatest hoax in the history of the internet. It's followers would certainly make for a great case study in psychology. - BrandonMills, on 10/11/2007, -0/+39Duke Nukem was 90s :P
- Nazuel, on 10/11/2007, -0/+38Fallout 3, Starcraft 2 being announced to release in 2008 after being waited for a decade each. I wonder if 3D Realms will actually release DN:F the same year.....it could cause a rip in the time-space continuum!
- enivid, on 10/11/2007, -8/+403 words
Duke. Nukem. Forever!!! - BZKyle, on 10/11/2007, -4/+30"And we're all out of kick ass."
- mookiemookie, on 10/11/2007, -2/+27What the ***** are you talking about? It's a game that never been released. It's become THE defining piece of vaporware. How can a "***** benchmarker" play something that's never been released?
- Miche1987, on 10/11/2007, -1/+26No, they're being for real this time. They mean business. Really.
But next year, they'll really REALLY mean business. - Vrail, on 10/11/2007, -1/+20We, and I speak of the generation of video game players that played duke nukem, who are now all through college, deserve much better then this.
- macaddct1984, on 10/11/2007, -0/+18Haha, http://duke.a-13.net/ is an awesome site (stolen from the destructoid comments)
"The Beatles formed, released every single one of their albums and broke up. During this time they also toured the world several times." - realyst, on 10/11/2007, -0/+17Obviously he must draft cows.
Cloning truly did change the industry... - bigbadgoat, on 10/11/2007, -1/+18Thats funny, I though DNF stood for "Did Not Finish".
still seems to describe the game appropriately. - j4son, on 10/11/2007, -2/+19I love it.

'They really mean business this time.'
lolz - Urusai, on 10/11/2007, -0/+16No, Daikatana got released.
- mookiemookie, on 10/11/2007, -0/+16I, for one, will buy Duke Nukem Forever when it comes out. Just so I can be the talk of the nursing home and pick up all the old widow skanks.
- fantasticFlan, on 10/11/2007, -0/+15Yep, Balls of Steel from 3D Realms: http://www.3drealms.com/balls/index.html
- jrbrewin, on 10/11/2007, -2/+16everyone wants it to suck, of course, whilst secretly hoping its as cool and as refreshing as earlier versions are.
- DollaDollaBill, on 10/11/2007, -0/+14DNF is either going to be the greatest game of all time, or a mediocre piece of *****.
- praisethelard, on 06/06/2008, -1/+12Relax, dude. It's just a *****' game.
- Dragular, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11An open letter to the guy getting dugg down:
Roddy Piper's quote is "I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick ass."
"It's time to kick ass and chew bubblegum" is Duke Nukem's variation of the quote, used at the very beginning of E3M1 while cracking his knuckles.
... the more you knowwwww - Thorox, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11I, for one, never get tired of Duke one-liners, or the fan boyz going ape-***** over low res pictures. They always make me smile!
- alexforcefive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11You said he was a cowboy!
- ICSU, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12@jrbrewin
Sucky engine? You are kidding, right?
Build engine was a huge step forward compared to Doom. It was the first FPS with diagonal slopes. - FloppyLlamaDigg, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12Why would a redneck cowboy use autocad?

- Ndiggnation, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9I was in early HS at the time of the first game. I've since left my hometown, moved from state to state, came back to my home town and been working with a company for nearly 10 years. Every job I've ever had, since I was 15 has come in this time frame. I'm now nearly 29 and have a 2 1/2 year old son.
I expect him to be at least old enough to play games, by the time the sequel comes out. - totorototoro, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9"BUT when someone poor college kid or teen has to pick between Crysis or Duke Nukem Forever....which one do you think he will pick?"
At this rate, what college kid will even know who Duke Nukem is? :p - igoratwork, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10"Time to kick ass and chew bubble gum"

- welk, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8quote from dec 2006:
And yet 3D Realms claims it's still working on Duke Nukem Forever. We asked CEO Scott Miller to give us an update on the game's progress.
"Thanks to the overwhelming success of Prey (our latest IP, and another game that took 10 years to release), we have been afforded another five relaxing years on the making of DNF," he says. - daridave, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Yeah.
No chicks, no bubblegum, no kicking ass !? Why do they call it Duke Nukem then ? - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6"Get cultured" and learn about professional wrestling???
- Godlesswanderer, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6@deathromp
I've never thought of it that way but I think you've got something there. - aqualung857, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7*sigh* 3d realms has lost there minds it will never be released
- Zippo, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5What the hell? What is this a scan OF? How can we even be sure it's even Duke Nukem Forever?
- Zzone, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6duke nukem > the easter bunny
- Matt174e, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Just like Chinese Democracy... does anyone really care anymore?
- Gir53457, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5He don't ride much no more.
- Gir53457, on 10/11/2007, -4/+9It's Duke Nukem dude, Even my redneck cowboy father who hasn't played a video game since Castle Wolfenstein on his AutoCAD box got exited about DNF.
- drakenlot, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Wazzzzup!!!!!! All Your Base Are Belong To Us
- LordSkywalker, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6A friend recently commented about the fact that he is always asking me when games are going to be released. I told him DNF was going to be released within the next couple months. That was back in 2001, six years ago. That didn't really work out.
- compgeek, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Duke Nukem Forever has been in dev cycle forever. heck I remember reading about it in 1996 when voodoo 2 was just on the edge of being released and DNF was going to be optimized for that card now fast forward 11 years later. What have they been doing? How have they been keeping up? have they rewritten the entire graphics base every time a newer faster shinier card comes out? I figure if it's been in dev this long the answer to that last question must be yes. I say 3D Realms get off your ass and release the damn game or just put us all out of our misery tell us that it's pointless to release cause you'll never make your money back take the hit lose all credibility and finally go OOB but honestly do SOMETHING!
- stublag, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6Yawn.
