- philomatic, on 10/20/2009, -2/+66More excited for Diablo III than Starcraft 2
- nevetando, on 10/20/2009, -0/+31That's all well and good, how abouts telling us when the freaking game is coming out??? I need to plan my life, and start stock piling energy drinks...
- frousfroud, on 10/20/2009, -0/+20I can't wait for this game. Playing Diablo2 with friends during middle school was fantastic fun.
- GrammerPants, on 10/20/2009, -0/+13And WoW caters to a much more mature, sexually endowed population?
- vanishedlight, on 10/20/2009, -0/+12I'm still waiting for the new patch on Diablo 2
- GrammerPants, on 10/20/2009, -1/+12Two different games completely. Also I wish I could look into the future like you apparently can.
- Baconation, on 10/20/2009, -2/+13All I have to say is this -
If the Diablo 3 (or even SC2) release date is pushed back any further due to something WoW related, I am going to convince Glenn Beck to publicly endorse Blizzard, which will in turn destroy Blizzard's global reputation, forcing them to shut down operations...
***** WOW, give me some D3 already. - inactive, on 10/20/2009, -1/+12Necromancer > Witchdoctor
- snareguy17, on 10/20/2009, -0/+11I almost don't want to read this just because it'll make me too giddy for the game.
- GreatSunJester, on 10/20/2009, -0/+7and a mouse with titanium re-enforced button mechanisms guaranteed to handle the harshest D3 click-fest. (Come on... you know we'd buy the damn thing)
- KMartSheriff, on 10/20/2009, -0/+6WoW doesn't even deserve to be put in the same sentence as Diablo (yes, I know I just did it, but it was for explanation's sake).
- akwok, on 10/20/2009, -1/+7When did ten year olds start invading Digg? Jesus!
- GrammerPants, on 10/20/2009, -0/+6Yeah, larger space in the inventory would be nice, or was it in the chest I can't remember anymore.
- inactive, on 10/20/2009, -2/+6Not at all. The Draenei being Eredar? Blood Elves joining Horde? "Just a setback?" Pure rubbish.
- kordend, on 10/20/2009, -0/+4those aren't changes to the lore, they're continuations of it. big difference.
- Tarhish, on 10/19/2009, -0/+4So all that ruckus a year ago about its new graphic design was just reflexive horror after viewing the Colors Out Of Space? I thought that rainbow looked odd...
- Baconation, on 10/20/2009, -0/+4It was revealed that Diablo 3 would not be seeing a 2010 release at the same time that Cataclysm was announced for a 2010 release.
Maybe you're right (which I almost hope isn't the case, god forbid D3 feels at all like WoW) but I highly doubt that Blizzard is in any way going to put the single largest MMO of all time on the back burner.
Oh, and calm down? Did my comment seem abundantly serious? haha - TheLordOfBlah, on 10/20/2009, -1/+5I want this game more than I've wanted any other game in my life.
- birdvsworm, on 10/20/2009, -0/+4just tell me who Jordan is and where I can get his stone.
- KMartSheriff, on 10/20/2009, -0/+3Reported, *****.
- bigp3rm, on 10/20/2009, -0/+3Can't wait! Anyone have a link to the audio?
- Gregus1032, on 10/20/2009, -0/+3"And it's all in the already existing lands of Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms"
Almost all of the 10-60 areas are being completely changed and I think a good portion of it is supposed to be changed via phasing. It's not like they're just changing some mobs and a couple new quests. - Grizzleyt, on 10/20/2009, -0/+3While the skill trees in D2 weren't perfect, I hope D3's are still as customizable. I fear that Diablo III will follow WoW's direction, where you are using every skill available with 2-3 cookie cutter specializations per class.
While there are definitely popular/standard builds in D2, the fact that sparklers or singing barbs or summoning necros could still be fun for 60 levels is a testament to the variety the system accommodated. - InsaneWookie, on 10/20/2009, -3/+6I don't feel the interviewer did a very good job
- Gizza, on 10/20/2009, -0/+2I love how he continually referenced the horror and atmosphere of the first game. Gives me hope at what they're aiming at. Because as great as Diablo 2 is, it really didn't have that same feel to it as the original. A lot of it I think was due to the increased pace, but I'm hopeful that they can retain some of it in 3.
- Thepirateking, on 10/20/2009, -1/+3It's their game, their lore. That means the lore can't be ***** up, just changed, when Blizzard makes changes.
- PlasticHotDog, on 10/20/2009, -0/+2It's good to know that they're trying to preserve the horror elements of the game as much as they can for a fast-paced action game.
- dawgma, on 10/20/2009, -0/+2lol.. you may be in for a disappointment grammerpants. the latest news as of last week is that the patch is delayed again because there are problems server side with an increased stash. they dont think diablo ii's old architecture can handle it. there is a possibility that it may be scrapped now.
- n3rrd, on 10/20/2009, -0/+2I played prior to and after the synergies were introduced. I enjoyed them. Diablo II ALWAYS suffered from cookie cutter builds, but it was fun to see some near useless builds (fun, throw-a-way builds) become feasible to some extent. Just another view-point though.
I work with a guy who hates the synergies too... meh. - Gregus1032, on 10/20/2009, -0/+1Frenzy Barbs... so fast and fun.
- lolerskate, on 10/20/2009, -5/+6I just hope they wont ***** up the lore like they did the Warcraft universe.
- basickly, on 10/20/2009, -0/+1They kind of ruined that in D2 when they introduced skill synergies.
Then it's like... If I don't use the synergies for this skill, I'm gimping myself.
Of course that was better than having to put points into skills that you weren't even gonna use...
D2s skill system was pretty crap.
<--- (loves D2) - basickly, on 10/20/2009, -0/+1Well, I wouldn't say I hate them. I actually prefer it to not having synergies. I was just saying that it made crazier builds even less feasible than they already were. I have no idea what the cookie cutter builds were though. I never looked up stuff like that, or played much mp.
But the Diablo skill system was just not very good to begin with.
They improved on it greatly since then.
Titan Quest, WoW, Hellgate London. It's best when you can get many skills and ALL of them are useful in different situations, imo. I've heard that's how Diablo 3 will be.
In Diablo 2 you could just get one skill and spam it like crazy, and really there was little incentive NOT to do that. - Jakerzon, on 10/20/2009, -0/+1Middle School??? I'm getting old.
- HackieWackie, on 10/20/2009, -3/+3You have to wait for it.. Even the beta won't be coming out before 2011
- bigp3rm, on 10/20/2009, -2/+2They have pulled people from the WOW team to work on those 2 games plus their new MMO. The next expansion only has a boost to level 85 cap. And it's all in the already existing lands of Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms. Another hint that the team is shrinking is the simplification of loot stats. Calm down and wait like the rest of us are.
- djnforce9, on 10/21/2009, -0/+0Me too. I don't play WoW so Cataclysm doesn't interest me in the slightest and Starcraft II is nice and all but I like RPG's (Single Player, not MMO) far better than real-time strategy games.
It's just too bad this will be the LAST game to come out between the the three and it'll be at least a year (or more) before we can play it. - inactive, on 11/03/2009, -0/+0The video interview of this can be found at ....
http://diabloiiikore.com/apps/videos/channels/show ... - basickly, on 10/20/2009, -5/+5omg Diablo 3 I'm gonna nnnnnnngggghhh....
- poptami, on 10/28/2009, -0/+0I can't wait. Diablo 2 is a great game.
- andychris, on 10/21/2009, -1/+0good 非常不错的游戏··
- noumuon, on 10/20/2009, -4/+3actually... warcraft consistently stays with the lore they set down in the RTSs.
- chaos7, on 10/20/2009, -3/+1i'll get diablo 3 on release day, but i don't really care about the lore at all.
- musntSurfatWork, on 10/20/2009, -7/+2When Diablo3 goes gold, that's when I'll upgrade to a 16 Core CPU, with 256GB of Ram, and RAIDED USB 3.0 SSD drives, with Crossfire ATI 9990's, I can't wait for D3! (sigh, comon 2015 already!)
- kensai111, on 10/20/2009, -7/+1Well that's nice and all that you're trying to preserve the story, the horror aspect while and the fast paced action. Your art director/team ruined it with cartoon-style characters and rainbows.
