- lacronicus, on 06/06/2008, -0/+46I must admit that I'm beginning to question the legitimacy of the interview that said Crysis was selling poorly and that Crytek would no longer be making PC exclusives. We've heard news that Crysis recently hit 3 million sales, and is still selling well, so that part wasn't true. Crysis:Warhead is a PC exclusive, which means that interview was wrong again. Somebody screwed up with that one.
- seanthebond, on 06/06/2008, -1/+39After their bitching about PC pirates, I'm shocked Crytek is giving the Crysis series another go on the PC.
- krazyman, on 06/05/2008, -0/+20Hopefully by then I will have a Video Card that can play the game on high settings.
- Nobiting, on 06/05/2008, -2/+15you might need two
- betasp, on 06/06/2008, -1/+12Why must you think you need to run it on High when at Medium and Low it looks better than 98% of the other games on the market. They could have easily changed the settings and named medium as high, and high as ultra, and ultra and ubersupergreat. Would that have made you feel better? You could have run it on high...

- luckyguy2000, on 06/06/2008, -4/+14crysis:
graphics: A+
gameplay: A
story: C
multiplayer: C-
any of todays gaming pcs can run crysis fast enough. - SOS84, on 06/06/2008, -0/+8The consoles do not have enough memory to run Crysis nor the graphical muscle without really dumbing the game down and the 360 does not have the horsepower to to handle the physics.
- SOS84, on 06/06/2008, -1/+9Not true, on both counts. My PC is a a year old. I have an XFX 8800GTS, Intel Core 2 Duo and 4GB ram and I built it for less than $800. This does not include Windows or monitor. Just so you know, you can get an OEM copy of Windows to run on a custom build if you generate an install disk off of the restore partition. You can build a comparable computer now for a couple hundred less.
- jks139, on 06/06/2008, -0/+7I guess if you have spent that much money on engine development - you should milk as many games from it as possible.
- Schmich, on 06/06/2008, -0/+7In my opinion they mainly went wrong with the multiplayer. I enjoyed the single player but the multiplayer mode was too complicated (not the deathmatch one of course). They should have made it simpler (maybe battlefield 2142ish style) or just was FPS's usually have. As the multiplayer sucked most people only wanted to play the single player (which you can do when downloading the game through torrents). If you want to play multiplayer mode with games nowadays you have to borrow or buy (mostly).
- lamiaconfitor, on 06/06/2008, -0/+7Actually, I think you need to look up the definition of the word "optimized."
- politicalslug, on 06/06/2008, -1/+7You are retarded. Every game for the PC made in the last 5 years has the option to adjust the resolution to "true HD video options". That just doesn't make sense. Half life 2 came out in 2004 and you can set the resolution to 1920x1200 (which is greater than 1080p). What options are you talking about?
- Dustmuffins, on 06/06/2008, -0/+6Psyco is bad ass.
- Phil1ip123, on 06/06/2008, -0/+6Crysis was awesome and I hope this one is just as good or better.
- leftler, on 06/06/2008, -0/+6I wouldent be holding up fable as an example of a good plot game.
- SOS84, on 06/06/2008, -3/+9Piracy is not really the problem developers claim and they know it.
- Arramol, on 06/06/2008, -0/+5Nope, no more patches: "At this time, there almost certainly will not be a patch 1.3 delivered for Crysis. We are aware that this news will disappoint many of you, and we would like to apologize profusely."
http://www.crymod.com/thread.php?threadid=28968 - luckyguy2000, on 06/06/2008, -1/+6same here, since the first patch it runs very nice (before the iceworld was lowfps) with 30fps+, although i have an Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 3Ghz, 2GB RAM, 8800GTX 768MB. its also a year old. back then it was like 1000$ with windows license and everything. i think thats not a high price when you buy a new pc for gaming. i guess today the same rig would cost much lower.
just update your pc for 500$ and youre fine. - JohnnyXmas, on 06/06/2008, -2/+7Not to my PC. I've still got an Athlon XP 2800
- Johaen, on 06/06/2008, -0/+58900GT? That's amazing. Where can I get me one of those?
- Arramol, on 06/06/2008, -2/+6In terms of technical graphics, it's the best out there, although Bioshock is a recent example of a better use from an artistic standpoint. As far as gameplay goes, eh. There's nothing particularly wrong with it, but there's nothing that really stands out about it. The nanosuit is interesting, but even that's not particularly innovative - shooters have been adding special powers since the 90s. It's not a bad shooter, but it's really not far above average.
- Shadowgamers, on 06/06/2008, -1/+5Because it'll look just _awesome_ on a console, any console :V
- Shaflugi, on 06/06/2008, -0/+4See: Source engine
- MrTulip, on 06/06/2008, -0/+4i stand corrected. truly disappointing.
- deadbaby, on 06/06/2008, -1/+5Crysis was a nice tech demo... hopefully they remember to make a game this time.
- HoratioHellpop, on 06/06/2008, -0/+4Welcome to internet journalism. Don't believe most everything you read.
- reconflux, on 06/06/2008, -0/+4For Christ's sake, release it on STEAM! Add achievements and the ability to join a friend's game! Update it all the time with new features and and people won't pirate it for the most part. Who is pirating TF2? I don't know anyone... Crytek, you have no EXCUSES blaming piracy for your lack of sales this time.
- arunforce, on 06/06/2008, -1/+4 I had a 8800GT 768 ram, a quad core, and 4 gigs, and had no problem with full settings, including AA and physics, running at 30 frames per second. The only time when I had to turn off AA was in the Ice Zone area.
- lamiaconfitor, on 06/06/2008, -0/+3or have tons more cash then God...
http://youtube.com/watch?v=UXlR-Sjwg4w&feature=use ...
I hate this guy. - SOS84, on 06/06/2008, -0/+3It is fairly common for the informed to refer to the 8800GT as the 8900GT, because that is what it is. Nvidia jumped the shark on naming.
- TwwIX, on 06/06/2008, -5/+8This is the Battlefield series all over again. Instead of providing support and patching the actual game, we'll get ***** expansion packs instead. EA's done it again.
- Cepharos, on 06/06/2008, -0/+3Wrong. There will be no 1.3 patch for Crysis, Crytek are working on somthing else, which must be this :o
The decision not to release patch 1.3 is a stupid one imo, the game as it stands needs some balancing and an auto map downloader which would help the modding community loads. - RussellDovey, on 06/06/2008, -0/+3How many times? One - if you're a good shot.
Those aliens are ***** invincible though. - vpshockwave, on 06/06/2008, -1/+3Umm.. No.
- antdude, on 06/06/2008, -0/+2And no dedicated Linux server.
- Gonasadude, on 06/06/2008, -1/+3Sounds pretty ***** top of the line to me.
- kamikazecow, on 06/06/2008, -0/+2Your issue there is congress, major bottleneck in that system
- kamikazecow, on 06/06/2008, -0/+2Half life 1 has the option for 1920x1200 (or 1080P) and that came out about 10 years ago now.
- inactive, on 06/06/2008, -2/+4I enjoyed Far Cry much more than Crysis, even with those seemingly impossible to kill rabid monkeys.
- inactive, on 06/07/2008, -0/+2It's obvious you didn't even play the game then. The game was awesome. Or you have a ***** computer and it's all just sour grapes because your precious nex-genz consoles can't even run it.
- BryanG412, on 06/06/2008, -1/+3Ya, I found that the only way to get anywhere in the game without dying was to sneak around, and that got old really fast. The game pretty much sucked until the end when the action picked up. I didn't find myself immersed in the game at all. The story line was weak and the character development was horrible. Physics engine and graphics were very impressive.
- PATSCRU, on 06/06/2008, -1/+3Sins of a Solar Empire is an indie 4X/RTS game with NO DRM and was on the top 10 NPD PC sales figures for months on end. Piracy is a scapegoat not an excuse. On a related note, Sins is amazing and you need it now.
- Melodik, on 06/06/2008, -4/+6You guys need to stop sucking each other's e-peens long enough to realize that I could make up a much more impressive list of acronyms.
- logandurand, on 06/07/2008, -0/+2I imagine that would result in some major latency issues.
- Smills, on 06/06/2008, -2/+3I can run it all settings on very high but with no AA at 35fps at 1680x1050 resolution with nothing but a 7800GTX. Ok, maybe that is stretching the truth a bit, I actually have two overclocked 3870X2's, a 4ghz QX9650 and 4GB's of DDR3 RAM. A couple of 4870's should be able to run it on very high though and it looks like they are going to be very cheap cards. Additionally, one GTX 280 should be able to run it on very high. So by the time Warhead comes out it really won't be hard to get a system that can max out the graphics on CryEngine 2.
- TheSlayerIsBack, on 06/06/2008, -0/+1it would be nice to see it on STEAM but don't forget EA is behind this ***** game, and I'm more that sure EA inst going to let STEAM distribute Crysis unless STEAM pays some green
- inactive, on 06/07/2008, -0/+1Crytek is a company that has always pushed pc hardware to the limit. This is why they will continue to focus on the pc, anything the consoles get will be downgraded scraps such as farcry instincts etc.
- SOS84, on 06/06/2008, -2/+3So that I can get my big raging PC erection from it. (thanks for another gem Ben)
- Biznarie, on 06/06/2008, -0/+1Thats probably the most notable place, besides that theres not too much so its worth the extra FPS you get on XP. Excessive motion blur is annoying anyways.
