Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 Attacks Starcraft in Viral Ad watch!
kotaku.com — I'm not gonna try to guess the viral marketing policies or in-house/contractor authorizations of Electronic Arts to determine if this really does constitute EA taking potshots at Blizzard. But that is undeniably the actors for President Ackerman and Field Marshall Bingham calling out RTSes set in space. It's Starcraft or Star Trek: Online.

- Whitebeard, on 09/22/2008, -3/+1Won't stop me from getting Starcraft 2! But I'll probably get RA3 too anyway.
- OstrakonX, on 09/22/2008, -2/+2Ha! That's awesome. I can't ***** wait to play this.
Besides, it's not like SC3 isn't going to be equally awesome. - JickBahTech, on 09/22/2008, -3/+3I'm just so happy to see a return to cheesy video cut scenes with known actors. C&C3 was SO much more fun with them than Generals was without them.
I'll probably end up snagging RA3 just to see what they do with the story. - bakkouz, on 09/22/2008, -3/+8***** Kotaku and the rest of the Gawker spam sites. Link directly to the original source article, I think they're entitled to it:
http://www.sc2pod.com/news/Red_Alert_3_disses_SC2/- badwithcomputer, on 09/22/2008, -1/+2i was going to digg that url but it was already submitted and only had 2 diggs in 17 hours. btw- i like how you posted this but still didn't digg that original post that's now 19 hours old and still only has 2 diggs. instead you dugg this submission. oh the ironing.
- bakkouz, on 09/22/2008, -0/+1ironing?
Anyway, to be quite honest I dugg your submission before I was aware of the source article. It was a reflex: red alert 3? dugg!

- KokomoNYC, on 09/22/2008, -1/+3Wow, J.K. Simmons looks exactly like he did in Burn After Reading.
- JessicaSarahS, on 09/22/2008, -3/+1Cute. But I haven't been impressed with the latest C&C games. I will still give this one a go, but I'm more excited about SC2.
- RyanPatrick, on 09/22/2008, -2/+2C&C owns.
- palehorse864, on 09/22/2008, -2/+4This is going to be saddled with Crysis Warhead/Spore DRM unfortunately.
- LimeParrot, on 09/22/2008, -3/+1Obligatory: ***** EA (for killing my favorite game -- RA2/YR)
- TotalHalibut, on 09/22/2008, -3/+1I'm not buying RA3 on principle, or any other EA titles until they rethink their DRM policy. This is a great campaign though, very original.
- spencemitch05, on 09/22/2008, -2/+3omg, c&c vs. starcraft battle. i haven't wanted to play video games this much since junior high.
- teotbote, on 09/22/2008, -3/+2It's too bad that there will be a massive boycott of this game. ***** EA. They have killed 4 of the most anticipated games of the year with their limited activation / SecuROM *****. They won't be happy until nobody wants to buy another PC game ever again.
- latova, on 09/22/2008, -2/+1Too bad RA3 is going to have DRM.
SC2 automatically wins. - Hercules, on 09/22/2008, -0/+1I liked Kari Wuhrer as Tanya more.
Oh well. - ligyron, on 09/22/2008, -2/+1They call StarCraft copy-cats? Why, because they expanded on the idea of RTS and revolutionized the industry selling way more than C&C?
- iancgi, on 09/22/2008, -3/+1EA is full of complete morons. You think a lame little viral add for a rehashed game is gonna gain you any ground against a cult classic like Starcraft? Which is still being played by millions. Whats your current user base for Red Alert 1 and 2 again?
Go die in a corner EA, you're like the corrupt oil company of the gaming world. - shcon, on 09/22/2008, -0/+1I like EA because they make great games. They're a big company though, and some of the games do indeed suck. Mainly because bosses ruin everything. The Red Alert 3 team looks to be making a great game for the fans this time around. Who cares really if it becomes adopted as sport measured by how fast you can hit hot-keys?? I certainly don't.
I want a mirage tank that turns into a tree.- TotalHalibut, on 09/22/2008, -0/+1Yeah, because everyone knows sports are never measured by how fast you can do something....
- shcon, on 10/03/2008, -0/+1When they add typing to the olympics... umm maybe I'll agree with you.
