- woulok, on 03/18/2008, -2/+30wake me up when BioWare makes KOTOR III
- inactive, on 03/18/2008, -5/+23PC gaming is dying?
I think not, it has stood the test of time compared to every other console - kelerian, on 03/18/2008, -2/+16For this website, having a sentence about the sex scenes in Mass effect and daytime TV equals to talking about porn. Bad headline.
- boxybrzown, on 03/18/2008, -2/+16Wow, this was dull. And nice 3 page format where the screenshots take up more space than the text on each of your pages, ad-whore.
- orb_nsc, on 03/18/2008, -2/+15Bit: Has the game been improved in terms of graphics and DirectX 10 content for PC and so on?
Matt: Yep. There are texture upgrades and hi-res visuals which you’ll be able to see. We’ve upscaled all the visuals because of the power of the latest PC hardware.
Gee, I'll get upgraded visuals, better game save options, and a $50 retail price (instead of the usual $60 for Xbox360 games)? Yeah, it really sucks to be a PC gamer these days! - inactive, on 03/18/2008, -1/+12Maybe its just me, but I think competitive gaming is just stupid >_>
But I probably think that because I mostly play for the single player part with a storyline - masterthiefster, on 03/18/2008, -0/+10Worse yet, they might go the BioShock route. Why yes, I'd LOVE to use my internet connection to double-check that the DVD I just picked up from EB Games is indeed genuine. Waiting several minutes because the registration server is overloaded by others experiencing this great new system only enhances my enjoyment of my purchase because I can read through the manual another three times! Having to do this all over again if I reinstall is wonderful because it takes me back to that first time I eagerly opened the box... ahhh...
I would hope that no company would be foolish enough to go the BioShock route after the entirely negative feedback it received, but then again BioWare is now controlled by greedy EA... - Shogi, on 03/18/2008, -0/+10Less talk, more releasing the PC version.
- jhuebel, on 03/18/2008, -2/+11Competitive gaming tournaments have never lasted long. That's not indicative of the health of the PC gaming industry.

"We’re very concerned about piracy and we put steps in to stop people doing that."
*braces for the Starforce* >.> - Arramol, on 03/18/2008, -0/+7It's really not that expensive. Buy yourself a decent computer (which most people need anyway), and slap in a video card. The Radeon 3850 and 3870 as well as the GeForce 9600GT and 8800GT are all available for under $200 and will provide a solid gaming experience.
- wafflesomd, on 03/18/2008, -1/+8Ha, listening to what Epic says, thats a GREAT idea.
- DrMonkeyLove, on 03/18/2008, -3/+10How many competitive gaming tournaments are there in console gaming? Competitive gaming leagues are lame.
- DDRRE, on 03/18/2008, -0/+5NO RIG CAN MAX OUT CRYSIS*
Enough with this crap. Maxing out Crysis for most people is running it at 1680x1050, DX10, all settings on Very High, AAx4, AFx16. (AAx8 is just too much to be practical)
*Unless you're running at least two 8800 Ultras or GT's in SLI mode, and then still your FPS will drop below 20 in some points of the game. - inactive, on 03/18/2008, -0/+5Wake me up when they make MDK 3
- inactive, on 03/18/2008, -1/+5*shrugs* even though I just blew 2000 dollars on my new PC I'm very happy with it, not JUST for gaming but for video/graphics editing as well
When I buy a computer, I buy it to do everything I need it to do, not just gaming, not just general work - sotthapana, on 03/18/2008, -1/+5Yes, we need KOTOR 3 !
Lucas really dropped the ball and probably missed some big profits by waiting so long. A whole new league of games has come out since KOTOR 2 and it will be harder to compete now. Some of the big-wigs like Lucas are failing to address the needs of the gaming community, because they're really just out of touch. I feel that the Star Wars franchise, in general, has just become a big, cheesy, Jar Jar Binks, because Lucas is more interested in business deals now, than the actual storytelling that made Star Wars.
He's not a geek anymore... Just a businessman. - noctu, on 03/18/2008, -0/+4news flash EA has been making this claim forever all the while not having the balls to leave the PC market! and I wish they would because they have destroyed so many good games, especially MMO's just look what they did to earth & beyond and UO!
- metroidragon, on 03/18/2008, -2/+5Neither PC gaming nor console gaming are dead or will die anytime in the forseeable future. They are both great platforms with their own strengths and weaknesses. I prefer Console gaming because it's much cheaper and usually much more social.
- i4mt3hwin, on 03/18/2008, -0/+3I've looked and search for actual profit numbers on World of Warcraft but never really came up with anything.
They have about 10 million active accounts at $15 a month (Yes I know some countries have different payment methods/you can opt for 1 year purchasing which reduces costs) so a ballpark figure would be $150M a month $1.8B a year. - Shogi, on 03/18/2008, -6/+9I agree, but you also have to admit that getting into PC gaming is getting more and more inaccessible because of hardware demands, confusion, and cost. I know a number of people who love PC games, but now play more console games than PC because of the cost of maintaining a gaming rig versus the one time purchase of a console.
- JagoX, on 03/18/2008, -0/+3Obsidian made KotOR 2...and you can blame LucasArts for the game coming out the way it did.
- deviationer, on 03/18/2008, -2/+5that has to be one of the worst gaming related interviews. Mass effect this and that. Blah Blah Blah. Also where's the next NWN. Oh yeah I forgot you guys are too lazy and will probably contract it out to a ***** company like with NWN 2.
- Shogi, on 03/18/2008, -1/+3As did I.
- antdude, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2They dropped to ball on KOTOR2. :(
- transeth, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2"n fact, later on, the critics from Fox News came out and admitted that they hadn’t played the game at all and that they’d just asked someone. That’s just the nature of the media – a right-wing conservative heard something dramatic and it snowballed from that."
- Arramol, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2Heck, even without Photoshop, I'd hate to be rendering video on such a machine.
- masterthiefster, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2I play Crysis on a mixture of medium and high (to maintain a silky smooth frame rate) and it still looks absolutely amazing. Maxing it might give the black dude's face a few more pockmarks and the water a few more ripples but it isn't really going to enhance the overall gameplay experience.
- masterthiefster, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2Piracy is mentioned on the "ports" page. They obviously got things a little mixed up.
- DDRRE, on 03/18/2008, -1/+3Wow. This interview sucked. I usually tend to see good interviews making the front page, but this one was just awful. I think you could sum most of it into a paragraph, and it would still be too stretched.
And EA is evil. You can't really expect a BioWare public relations employee to say what he thinks about the evil empire that buys other small companies, leading them to the path of destruction by rushing them to release unfinished games, and then closing them because their games sucked. RIP, Origin, Westwood and many many many more studios. - logandurand, on 03/19/2008, -0/+2There are tons of those, the standards exist and are followed by almost everyone.
- cardjoe, on 03/19/2008, -0/+1If I needed the clicks I wouldn't have been one of only two people in the UK to get an invite to interview this guy (along with Eurogamer). It's splint into three pages because, in the past, we've done it as one long page or as two pages and just got complaints that it is too hard to read and would be easier if it were divided. There is a balance to be found between making content accessible and readable as well as presentable and providing a commercial basis for a site to thrive. There is a total of three or so adverts on every page and none of them are intrusive. None use pop-ups. None use under-pops. None link in to the text or use in-line links. None use sound. None of them expand. Instead there's two stationary banners and an MPU which are easy to ignore. Thus I struggle to see this as a case of ad-whoring. If more clicks and views were needed then we'd have much more intrusive adverts.
- leerayIG88, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1in other words, cha ching!!! $_$ WHOO!!
Raise the house! Pwned! OWNED!
W000t! - pegisys, on 03/25/2008, -0/+1Compare to buying a high end PC that will play all the latest games it is cheaper to get the cheap PC and the console
- praisethelard, on 06/06/2008, -1/+2The page that is labeled "Bioware on Piracy" mentions nothing about piracy.
- BugMeNot2, on 03/19/2008, -0/+1I just bought myself an 8800 GTS 512 recently for $180.
I'm blown away at how much better the visuals are compared to the consoles.
The games are better, too. =) - Arramol, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1Oh it's entirely possible to spend a ton of money, I'm just saying it's not necessary. My own gaming machine cost me around $1100, and as others have mentioned, is very well suited for anything from doing homework all the way up to 3D rendering or video editing.
- Azriel7, on 03/18/2008, -1/+2We all know EA is going to frak up bioware sooner or later, it is just a waiting game.
- pegisys, on 03/25/2008, -0/+1Read what I wrote. Write paper and read emails, if the only high end thing that they were going to do was play games a cheap PC and a console is the cheaper option
- bagboyrebel, on 03/19/2008, -1/+2no more stupid than competitive sports.
- polywaffle, on 03/19/2008, -1/+2A console just plays games (and yeah movies and music too i guess) and it costs more than 200 bucks..why would you expect a new pc to cost less than a console?
- nireus, on 12/15/2008, -0/+0Nice, thank you
http://www.efeturan.com - Shogi, on 03/18/2008, -1/+1I blew $1500 on my current rig, PC gaming is my life.
- cardjoe, on 03/18/2008, -1/+1If I was an adwhore then we'd have pop-ups and google ads, in text ads and so on. The latter pages have much more text than pic, so read the article first.
- pegisys, on 03/18/2008, -3/+3If everything you wanted to do could be done on a $200 Dell system would the price still be justified. You have to look at both sides someone who might want to play games, write papers, and read email may just get a cheap PC and a console and come out cheaper
- boxybrzown, on 03/18/2008, -2/+2I read the whole thing. The 3-page format for an article of this size is the definition of ad-whoring. I shouldn't need to click 3 times to view content that is this short, and you wouldn't put it in that format if you didn't need the clicks.
- mrc22091, on 03/19/2008, -1/+1pfft. the witcher has way more sexual content.
- inactive, on 03/19/2008, -0/+0RIP pc gaming, it was fun while it lasted
- inactive, on 03/18/2008, -2/+2A 200 dell will not do very well with Photoshop AND premiere at the same time
