Awesome New Red Alert 3 Screens Revealed
blog.wired.com — We're still months away from the release of Command And Conquer: Red Alert 3, but that's not stopping EA from trying to work fans into a lather with these new, gorgeous screenshots of the series' trademark Soviet war machine in action.

- digg it
- dwilljo, on 03/18/2008, -8/+43me want
- Akaji, on 03/18/2008, -16/+5Meh. Doesn't even look as good as Supreme Commander.
- BuzzardB, on 03/18/2008, -2/+12Id say it LOOKS nicer than supreme commander, but if its going to be anything like C&C 3 it wont be nearly as good in any other catagory -_-
I miss good C&C Games ;_;- theyt, on 03/18/2008, -0/+3CNC3 was ok, EA went overkill with the fast pace though which made for a fast paced spamfest online.
- stretch611, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2I agree, C&C3 was ok. I was happy with NOD and GDI, but I don't like the SCRIN side/units. To me all the scrin look the same and I can never tell which where the anti-air units, which are the anti-personnel units, or the anti-vehicle units.
- wattersm, on 03/18/2008, -1/+2Since EA owns Westwood now that's never going to happen, they'll just keep releasing sequel after sequel.
- seejunaid, on 03/19/2008, -0/+0I loved Dune2000, the game play was very very nice....
- falkonv7l, on 03/18/2008, -0/+5Red Allert is probally my most played game! years upon years or C&C fun for me.
- prophetpimp, on 03/18/2008, -1/+9in one of the screen shots i think they might be returning to grid based building placements like in the old games. Thats would be ***** awesome and would really make base building easier. I hope the bring back walls.
- Terr01, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2IMO a better trick would be to design maps so that you *could* get by with grid-based placement and rotation, but maintaing the ability to tweak things to try to wedge something in where it might matter.
Examples include having defensive fortifications of different ranges sharing a kill-zone, managing to fit in two things where you could normally fit one, etc.

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?i ... The storyline for CNC: RA3- bbardlbradd, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1moar screenshots on link.
- booshack, on 03/18/2008, -1/+8I don't know if anyone mentioned this but notice that there are different buildings in the water including refinery and power plant. RA3 looks to be very naval based, could be a very cool and innovative aspect to have to balance between land and water rather than water just being an added gimmick.
- falkonv7l, on 03/18/2008, -0/+7Yes, I miss the Naval stuff
- niceyuk, on 03/18/2008, -0/+4cool and innovative? This is an EA game, I doubt it.
- falkonv7l, on 03/18/2008, -0/+4Download entire MP3 version of Hell March http://compuball.com/av/hellmarch.htm
- bbardlbradd, on 03/18/2008, -0/+3They should have NIN redo the Hell March. I would cream.
- antdude, on 03/19/2008, -0/+2Heh, I still have that Best Buy C&C soundtracks CD set (free with Red Alert 2). Does anyone still have that?
- JettaMan, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2I WILL get this once I'm done with C&C 3: Tiberium on the Xbox 360. I'm just praying that they let Joe Kucan direct the live video for it. He did a way better job with the actors than this studio hack who did C&C 3. Michael Ironside turned in the wost "where's my check" performance I've ever seen.
- JayD16, on 03/18/2008, -0/+45I love me some Kirovs.
- Klarth, on 03/18/2008, -0/+11Bombs away.
- MSstar, on 03/18/2008, -3/+5testacoil ftw
- anagoge, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1L, not T.
- neomillenium, on 03/20/2008, -0/+1No, these ones fire male genitals instead of lightning bolts.
- Dundasbro, on 03/19/2008, -0/+2Leslacoil? ;-)
- anagoge, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1L, not T.
- EvilGunOwner, on 03/18/2008, -0/+6The Patriots! They do nothing!
- dsmx, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2Send a army of IFV's then.
- EvilGunOwner, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2I always do when I hear, "Kirov reporting."
- bbardlbradd, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1The patriots on the Aegis cruisers pwn't Kirovs. Now all I have to worry about is keeping my Aegis's from being destroyed by all of this new water *****. Pls have cannons on Aegis... PLS!
- dsmx, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2Send a army of IFV's then.
- Dundasbro, on 03/18/2008, -0/+12Kirov reporting.
- clamum, on 03/19/2008, -0/+1***** yeah. I'd get a bunch of them airships together and just bomb the ***** outta the enemy's base. Used to play it in PC Tech class in high school, lol, good times.
- hektur, on 03/18/2008, -3/+11Nice, it shows you where you can place so you dont have to search to make sure every danm part of the contrution area is green.
- NavS, on 03/18/2008, -7/+29Ughh... it looks cool and all but it's just not the same...
- arcooke, on 03/18/2008, -5/+29Agreed.. the units and structures look like toys. This game will probably be great in itself, but it's not the same old Red Alert.
- saxreturns, on 03/18/2008, -1/+6I'm not sure I'd buy it if it was the same old Red Alert... I want developments and improvements! Anyway, let's not judge purely on preliminary screen shots, I'm reserving my verdict until I get some gameplay in.
- norman619, on 03/18/2008, -3/+4So far the graphics aren't an improvement. I want the units to look like military units not toys.
- alenox, on 03/19/2008, -0/+1man i learned so much about history from the original Red Alert game! it was like one giant blur of WW2, the cold war, Albert Einstein + tanya was smokin' hot
- saxreturns, on 03/18/2008, -1/+6I'm not sure I'd buy it if it was the same old Red Alert... I want developments and improvements! Anyway, let's not judge purely on preliminary screen shots, I'm reserving my verdict until I get some gameplay in.
- unreg, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2I loved playing the originals. The programming was tight and the graphis were just good enough. Now days the gameplay is about the same, really, how much can it change, but the graphics have become bloated.
- bbardlbradd, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1Yeah, actually RA2 didn't look too bad. I liked the rugged look that everything had, I hope everything gets a tighter, deadlier, and more serious look to it. The buildings look silly.... :^/
- arcooke, on 03/18/2008, -5/+29Agreed.. the units and structures look like toys. This game will probably be great in itself, but it's not the same old Red Alert.
- loganhid, on 03/18/2008, -10/+56Red Alert 2 has so far been the best game in the C&C series. This looks like a potental match to the game
- Llanowar, on 03/18/2008, -6/+11I disagree, Tiberian Dawn remains the best.
- ElectroBot, on 03/18/2008, -0/+3It it were done by Westwood, then it would've been the best game of all time. Since EA did it, it was great. (changed the shortcuts, didn't increase the maps significantly, etc.)
- Llanowar, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1What are you talking about? Tiberian Dawn was made by Westwood, and didn't change anything as it was the first. ;)
- Superman7507, on 03/19/2008, -0/+2yes that was a good one, but i would have to say Tiberian Sun was the best
- Alfadir, on 03/20/2008, -0/+1I liked the first C&C, RA and TS the most
- ElectroBot, on 03/18/2008, -0/+3It it were done by Westwood, then it would've been the best game of all time. Since EA did it, it was great. (changed the shortcuts, didn't increase the maps significantly, etc.)
- norman619, on 03/18/2008, -8/+3How can you say that based simply on some screen shots? I would hold that kind of judgment until we get to see some actual game play.
- hektur, on 03/18/2008, -2/+8Red Alert 2 came out a long time ago. Where have you been?
- falkonv7l, on 03/18/2008, -3/+8Original Red Alert and Generals are my favs
- stretch611, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2My favs are similiar... RA2 and Generals...
- warriorscot, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2The original was far better than two, it was good it just wasn't as good as the original to be honest it was a little too cartoony sometimes kind of went over to the over the top.
- bbardlbradd, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1RA is a great game but better than RA2? No. RA would be a great model to base RA3 off of though, I liked the feeling of RA more than RA2 but RA2 is so much more fun...
- dsmx, on 03/18/2008, -0/+4I would feel more confident about 3 if westwood were still together however RA2 was the last game made by westwood before EA gutted it. Hence why everything westwood have done since then hasn't been as good as RA2.
- Angus5, on 03/18/2008, -0/+3It sure looks good, but what can we really expect now that Westwood is gone?
- Alfadir, on 03/20/2008, -0/+1True that:/
- Alfadir, on 03/20/2008, -0/+2RA2 was the best? Haha, you have no clue man:P
- Llanowar, on 03/18/2008, -6/+11I disagree, Tiberian Dawn remains the best.
- spvn, on 03/18/2008, -14/+9Holy *****... now that's what i call screenshots. From the screens it seems to be one of the best looking RTS games ever..
- JlmAWP, on 03/18/2008, -13/+17Right behind Starcraft 2.
- dbug, on 03/18/2008, -14/+4And it will be way behind Starcraft 2 in every other aspect as well for sure.
Pretty stupid move of Westwood to compete with Blizzards new RTS game if you ask me.- frmatc, on 03/18/2008, -1/+17Westwood no longer exists, which is why this will be another pitiful attempt from EA to cash in on a purchased, formerly great franchise.
- FTLJohnson, on 03/18/2008, -5/+2Really? Tiberium Wars was pretty much the best RTS game I've played to date... I hate EA too, but not unthinkingly so.
- Bean945, on 03/18/2008, -2/+4Westwho?
- bbardlbradd, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1WestWOOD.
- frmatc, on 03/18/2008, -1/+17Westwood no longer exists, which is why this will be another pitiful attempt from EA to cash in on a purchased, formerly great franchise.
- dbug, on 03/18/2008, -14/+4And it will be way behind Starcraft 2 in every other aspect as well for sure.
- JlmAWP, on 03/18/2008, -13/+17Right behind Starcraft 2.
- DrDragun, on 03/18/2008, -0/+31I like the steampunk style of the blimps and buildings. I always liked Red Alert 1 the best due to the more historic setting. Remember the Yak aircraft strafing with machine guns? The german shepherds with instant infantry kill? The naval cruiser with artillery guns?
- JayD16, on 03/18/2008, -0/+17Watching a group of dogs ravage infantry was awesome.
- norman619, on 03/18/2008, -0/+3But I never got how a dog could beat a man armed with a machine gun. It made me laugh.
- Bean945, on 03/18/2008, -0/+8Especially them eating your James Bond spy guy...
- leerayIG88, on 03/18/2008, -0/+13@bean
For King and Country!
- norman619, on 03/18/2008, -0/+3But I never got how a dog could beat a man armed with a machine gun. It made me laugh.
- falkonv7l, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2I loved the Yak aircraft, and the whole naval idea is something I really wished for in all the following C&C releases (fail), it is good to see potential again. I miss the submarines and Cruisers.
- bbardlbradd, on 03/18/2008, -0/+3That's one thing that RA did better than RA2. The naval fleet in RA was awesome... in RA2 it was all too complicated w/ trained animals and such... the ships in RA2 look cartoonish too... something that I hated about RA2 when I picked it up.
- JayD16, on 03/18/2008, -0/+17Watching a group of dogs ravage infantry was awesome.
- evozero, on 03/18/2008, -2/+7I really hope the ps3 version has KB&M support. that would make my day.
- WhereAmI, on 03/18/2008, -0/+4And to make it even better: Mod support.
Why is it so hard to do what Epic does? - BenKenobi88, on 03/18/2008, -2/+16Hey guess what, the PC comes with mouse and keyboard standard. Just a tip.
- evozero, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1My powerbook won't run Red Alert 3.
- bbardlbradd, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1Orly? I hate RTS's for consoles, always have, always will. They really should sell small limited keyboards (w/ only keys that you need) and mice for RTS's though because that's the only real way to play an RTS.
- WhereAmI, on 03/18/2008, -0/+4And to make it even better: Mod support.
- renagadex2, on 03/18/2008, -9/+1Kinda looks like Generals level graphics...
- nirav72, on 03/18/2008, -1/+4Its the same engine. The graphics will be similar to C & C3 Timberium wars. Generals graphics are a few years old now.
- innerpenguin, on 03/18/2008, -0/+61Need more Hell March!
- saxreturns, on 03/18/2008, -0/+12Everyone needs more Hell March. I'm not ashamed to say that that is the tune that first got me into heavy rock/metal...
- JayD16, on 03/18/2008, -0/+18I always loved the over the top cut scenes and music. Its what separates CnC from he pack.
http://objective.ytmnd.com/ - DrDragun, on 03/18/2008, -0/+9If the intro doesn't include some variation of Hell March with at least 3 tanks blowing through brick walls then I would say C&C has jumped the shark.
- TRScheel, on 03/18/2008, -0/+5I have that song permanently stuck in my head as well as my friends
- Klarth, on 03/18/2008, -0/+4Klepacki had better be doing the music for this.
- chlupululuu, on 03/18/2008, -0/+3klepacki works for petroglyph now, along with most of the rest of the original c&c team
- legoalert33, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2And 'A Path Beyond'
- Bean945, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2Frank Klepacki is a video game music legend.
- hektur, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2Ehh, am I the only that prefered Hell March 2 better than the first?
- YumYumKittyLoaf, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1Hell March, Big Foot, Hell March 2, and Grinder I think are the best RA songs.

- kmckanna, on 03/18/2008, -1/+13*sets aside C&C 3*
*waits patiently* - kingofinternet, on 03/18/2008, -13/+3red alert was always tacky
- saxreturns, on 03/18/2008, -2/+12This is obviously some new definition of the word 'tacky' that I'm not aware of. Try using 'awesome' or 'legendary', we might understand you better.
- norman619, on 03/18/2008, -2/+3Yes because those are the only words fanboys can understand when someone who is being objective is speaking about their obsession.
- DrDragun, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1You are too serious about video games calling this tacky. Yes this game is unrealistically awesome in its excesses like a cross between Jerry Bruckheimer and this video clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDu0NWa2Iws but seriously this is a video game about blowing things up and listening to rock music that doesn't fit the time period and so obviously has been one of the greatest game series of all time.
- saxreturns, on 03/18/2008, -2/+12This is obviously some new definition of the word 'tacky' that I'm not aware of. Try using 'awesome' or 'legendary', we might understand you better.
- MetalLizard, on 03/18/2008, -4/+93I wish the original westwood devs were making this game. ***** eagames.
- mike42979, on 03/18/2008, -1/+5Heh C&C Red alert was the ***** back when Kali was the #1 gaming platform and V3 was the best map ever made for C&C.
- Cerialthriller, on 03/19/2008, -0/+1yeah, i wonder if the Verizon FIOS billboards in the little towns will be able to be knocked down or if they will be the only structure in the game you cant blow up.
- Affiniti, on 03/21/2008, -0/+1Actually, the game is being developed by EA Los Angeles which have some of the original Westwood developers. So it's not all bad.
- shank2001, on 03/24/2008, -0/+1Not exactly. EA worked the original Westwood Developers into the ground long ago, and 99% of them have long since left EA. The team making this game has nothing to do with the teams that made the other C&C games.
- Grahamcracker, on 03/18/2008, -0/+5Awesome, I'm really looking forward to the Allied tank/cruiser.
- sensor, on 03/18/2008, -4/+4They still haven't fixed the crashes in the CC3... I won't buy anything from them. (if you don't know what crashes I'm talking about... just go look at the massive thread at their forums)
- norman619, on 03/18/2008, -2/+4Maybe there is something wrong with your computer? I updated then C&C3 then played it twice all the way through and mine never crashed.
- LogicBomB, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1Just because yours works doesn't mean there isn't a problem.
- norman619, on 03/18/2008, -2/+4Maybe there is something wrong with your computer? I updated then C&C3 then played it twice all the way through and mine never crashed.
- simplistics06, on 03/18/2008, -10/+2It looks the same as red alert 2. If anything it will end up like tiberium sun which sucks balls.
- prophetpimp, on 03/18/2008, -5/+2***** You. Tiberium Sun was awesome. The story rocked and the weapons were awesome.
- toxicityj, on 03/18/2008, -2/+35Tanya better be in this game... I need something to look at in between missions.
- nirav72, on 03/18/2008, -2/+12Hopefully its Kari Wuher who plays Tanya. But she might be a milf by now.
- prophetpimp, on 03/18/2008, -1/+7Even better. :D
- leerayIG88, on 03/18/2008, -3/+1Peter: She was with some guy going, "Bam bam bam bam bam!"
Peter: Hang..Hang on I'm not done. "Bam bam bam!" And she's all, "Oh yeah oh yeah." "Bam bam bam!" Wanna take it from here Bam Bam?
Bam Bam: Bam bam bam bam bam! You wanna take it from here Emeril?
Emeril: Bam!
- leerayIG88, on 03/18/2008, -3/+1Peter: She was with some guy going, "Bam bam bam bam bam!"
- LaughingDjinn, on 03/19/2008, -0/+1Never saw much of her after Sliders, shame.
- prophetpimp, on 03/18/2008, -1/+7Even better. :D
- antdude, on 03/19/2008, -0/+4"Shake it, baby."
- nirav72, on 03/18/2008, -2/+12Hopefully its Kari Wuher who plays Tanya. But she might be a milf by now.
- whatthefu, on 03/18/2008, -3/+20I don't know you guys...Red Alert 2 was amazing. It would be very difficult for them to ***** this one up.
- MillionsLivio, on 03/18/2008, -1/+24It's EA, they (sadly) will inevitably ***** it up.
- nirav72, on 03/18/2008, -2/+6They ***** up C & C Generals. It is EA - therefore they will ***** it up badly.
- stretch611, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1IMHO, the only thing bad about Generals are the occasional resource slowdowns crashes due to some type of memory leak that was never fixed. I play it on a Athlon x2 6000 with 2GB RAM and a nvidia 8600GT card. The system far exceeds the requirements for a game from 2003. Yet the slowdowns and crashes still happen occasionally.
- BenKenobi88, on 03/18/2008, -0/+13Uh...Red Alert 2 was amazing. Thus, it's very EASY for EA to ***** it up. I can't see them beating RA2.
- lolwutpear, on 03/18/2008, -0/+0RA2 was amazing, so I think that would make it very EASY for them to ***** this one up.
- Dunhamzzz, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2The people who made RA2 are not the same people.
- iPood, on 03/18/2008, -0/+23Affirmative.
- booshack, on 03/18/2008, -2/+3Affi-ri-mative
- falkonv7l, on 03/18/2008, -2/+4ha ha ha ha
- wetard57, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2Engineering.
- Raisedshoulder, on 03/18/2008, -1/+16I don't give a hootin nickel about your legacy.
- LogicBomB, on 03/18/2008, -0/+3GOD did that line annoy me. It was as if TBS was dubbing over the lines.
- anagoge, on 03/18/2008, -0/+3Is it done, Yuri?
No Comrade Premiere, it has only just begun. - IntelSoap, on 03/19/2008, -1/+1isnt it "wooden nickel"?
just a thought- DrIce926, on 03/29/2008, -0/+1I really thought it was that as well, like some sort of old Russian saying. *shrug*
- Darkhowling91, on 03/18/2008, -4/+7FTA:
It is a modified Generals engine. All of the RTS engines by EALA (or however the team is called now) originate from the original Generals engine. In fact, the engine has evolved from Generals->BMFE->BFME2->C&C3->RA3.
I did not list expensions because I dont think they tweeked the engine itself in those, but I might be wrong. Anyway, to get a better idea of the engine check C&C3 because that is the closest thing to RA3.
For more info check http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SAGE_engine- nirav72, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1The original Generals engine had some serious performance issues. But it was much improved in C & C3 and worked flawlessly. I was surprised it was the same engine.
- stretch611, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1If that is true, it would be nice if EA backports the code fix to Generals. Many people still play that game. (I like the gameplay better than C&C3)
- Mishkin, on 03/18/2008, -1/+2you're wrong, RA3 is running on a newly developed engine at EALA, dubbed RNA. Visually, it's similar to SAGE, so it's easy to mistake them.
Source: PC Gamer - prophetpimp, on 03/18/2008, -1/+2Err. No. Sage has been retired. RA3 will be using another eingine.
- spect3r, on 03/18/2008, -1/+1The Source engine would have done this game wonders as well... there are a few good RTS mods for Source (check out moddb.com); but Sage isn't being used for this game, from what I've heard
- Narpas, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1Forget that noise. They need to buy the Tactics engine from Activision and use that vanilla.
That would be the best thing.
- nirav72, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1The original Generals engine had some serious performance issues. But it was much improved in C & C3 and worked flawlessly. I was surprised it was the same engine.
- SimianE, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2The shots look amazing, but it's all about the gameplay... Remember Chaos on the Spectrum? Proof that graphics don't make the game!
- jake8689, on 03/18/2008, -1/+7i hope they allow mac and p.c. to play together in multiplayer like warcraft does and starcraft
- prophetpimp, on 03/18/2008, -1/+2And CnC generals does.
- CheeseburgerBro, on 03/18/2008, -5/+4Why don't the explosions have shadows?
- ilves7, on 03/18/2008, -1/+11cause they're bright.
- CheeseburgerBro, on 03/19/2008, -0/+1Not too familiar with optics, eh?
If an object is opaque to the point one cannot discern the background through it, it is blocking light and therefore casts a shadow. Even light-bulbs cast a shadow. Brightness is irrelevant.- ilves7, on 03/27/2008, -0/+2Not too familiar with jokes, eh?
- CheeseburgerBro, on 03/19/2008, -0/+1Not too familiar with optics, eh?
- leerayIG88, on 03/18/2008, -0/+6maybe the game isn't done?
- ilves7, on 03/18/2008, -1/+11cause they're bright.
- TheSabre, on 03/18/2008, -10/+2Red Alert is okay, but I wish they'd make more Generals games (not necessarily for the actual "Generals" game mode, but for the China/GLA/USA weaponry). I absolutely hate the Tiberian versions. Am I the only one that can't stand those? I just think Red Alert and Tiberian games are too... cartoony.
- lfernandez91, on 03/18/2008, -0/+4WHAT? RedAlert just rules. And Tiberium is cool too.
- nirav72, on 03/18/2008, -0/+8Thats the point. Red Alert had some very funny one liners in the game. Plus the cut scenes rocked!
- TheSabre, on 03/18/2008, -0/+5Eek. I guess I offended too many people. Sorry to all the Red Alert and Tiberi*um* fans that took offense to my disliking of those games.
- mataranka, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2generals and zero hour is the reason i bought my first computer. my mate had it and it opened up pc gaming to me and the internet in general. still play it online occasionally now.

- stonklit, on 03/18/2008, -19/+3They REALLY need to stop making these games. They stopped being fun.. oh, about 10 years ago.

- neojinge, on 03/18/2008, -1/+5this might actually get me back playing on the PC instead of the xbox
- musntSurfatWork, on 03/18/2008, -0/+0if RA3 doesn't do it for you, then bury your PC forever. I know I will. That is also why I have 5 PS3's.

- withremote, on 03/18/2008, -8/+3looks a lot like SC2
- BenKenobi88, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2Not really. They're similarly quick RTS games, with sci-fi-like weapons, if that's what you meant.
- Syphon8, on 03/18/2008, -2/+3Except no where near as good.
- sparrowkc, on 03/18/2008, -1/+6Please... PLEASE work in wine!
Preferably without going through the nocd crap that RA2 required...- Dunge, on 03/18/2008, -4/+9Why won't you just install Windows if you want to play games?
- sparrowkc, on 05/27/2008, -0/+1It costs money, the benefits of Linux outweigh playing the few games I would like to play that don't work in wine for me, and I can't afford the space to make dual boot.
- Dunge, on 03/18/2008, -4/+9Why won't you just install Windows if you want to play games?
- Nanolight, on 03/18/2008, -3/+11I smell another lazy game from EA, all the recent RTS games are just a mod of the generals engine and have all been *****. C&C3 was a joke and EA screwed over all its loyal customers by not supporting Generals or RA2 on-line only months after release. ***** EA! If they fail RA3 (which I'm expecting) then they will lose 1 more customer for ever.
- leerayIG88, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1do you mean, forever?*
- musntSurfatWork, on 03/18/2008, -0/+0EA lost me at Zero Hour maphacking.
- IntelSoap, on 03/19/2008, -1/+0wherever you do business, please, PLEASE stop threatening someone with "losing a customer". i get that stupid ***** all the time at my job and guess what, no one cares! your last effort at trying to make me feel sorry for you has failed, and now i laugh at you
- Nanolight, on 03/19/2008, -0/+1You might not care about profits, but some companys do.

- musntSurfatWork, on 03/18/2008, -0/+3I will knock out one of your power supplies and take over your whole base with 3 rangers, an ambulance, and $500.
- mwomorris, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2"EA has yet to reveal a proper release date for the game, but they have mentioned that the title is planned to appear on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as well as its native PC platform."
Nice.- Dunge, on 03/18/2008, -0/+7How could you ever want to consider playing a RTS with a gamepad?
- ultraJesus, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1Its really not as hard as you would expect it to be. Of course its no where near as good as a mouse, but it in no way breaks the game.
- lolwutpear, on 03/18/2008, -0/+0not nice. i've seen games go to hell when they try to accommodate platforms besides PC. EA wants a few extra sales, and we PC gamers will pay the price in lost quality.
- Dunge, on 03/18/2008, -0/+7How could you ever want to consider playing a RTS with a gamepad?
- lfernandez91, on 03/18/2008, -1/+3Please please be this available on Mac as a port or something! If not, well then Bootcamp will finally come in useful!
- UKsHaDoW, on 03/18/2008, -0/+3C&C 3 was, so this probbly will.

- Exodin, on 03/18/2008, -5/+3These screen shots were released almost exactly a month ago. A crappy website is getting free hits for old material, nice one digg.
- Trollmaster, on 03/18/2008, -1/+5you just registered in digg didn't you?
- Exodin, on 03/18/2008, -1/+1I don't know, did you? All it takes is one click on my name to see when I registered. And stuff.
- Trollmaster, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1yeah I know, just was too lazy to do it..... you registered in 2006 and complain about how digg makes crappy websites get free hits for old material?
- Exodin, on 03/18/2008, -1/+2Usually a person or two calls it out in the comments, nothing of the sort this time though. Plus the design blows hard and the game is going to suck. Ok, vented.

- ant9821, on 03/18/2008, -1/+2In Soviet Russia, water does not conduct electricity.
- HarryLeeSmith, on 03/18/2008, -4/+1Buried for the use of Awesome before screenshots, seems like all new game screenshots are either Awesome, or Cool, or Spectacular.
- postalblowfish7, on 03/18/2008, -0/+7wow, i'm excited for a new C&C game AND a new starcraft game - it's like the 90's RTS boom all over again!

- Nickface, on 03/18/2008, -1/+12There seems to be a lot of people hating on Generals. Am I the only person out there who liked it? I mean, I loved RA and RA2 and such, and I wasn't happy with C&C3 either, but man, I LOVED generals and its expansion.
- Exodin, on 03/18/2008, -0/+4I hated generals because it was the beginning of EA's development and changing of the C&C brand into what it is today. Crap.
- Dunge, on 03/18/2008, -7/+2C&C3 was 10 times better than Generals
- ant9821, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2I didn't like the way that construction was changed up in Generals. I was used to having a side bar with my construction choices. I did not like having to click on the buildings themselves.
- Narpas, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1It was... alright? I remember, though, in the last mission, I was playing it at my friends house, and he couldn't beat it to save his life. I played it once and beat it, because I didn't consider the super weapons necessary - not when my planes were doing the job nicely. You see, the game waited until you started built your super weapons to start building theirs, which were faster and more dangerous (biological SCUDS over expensive nukes). Theirs would be done first, and they'd slam your silo, and then continue slamming your base every few minutes. I accidentally gamed the system and the mission was, besides that, very easy. Playing it later - after completing the entire campaign myself, that mission was nearly impossible, because I valued the nukes more and, subsequently, got hammered by SCUDS. Advice on the internet was unanimous - don't build nukes. When I realized exactly what had happened, I realized the bum job they did balancing the game. I give the overall experience a C.
- musntSurfatWork, on 03/18/2008, -0/+0Generals and ZeroHour was my favorite game on PC, after Leisure Suit Larry of course...
but EA killed the gamer in me with the lack of MAPGEN MAPHACK fixes that Generals so badly needed online. I lost total respect for the gamiing community when so called Pros and "Moderators" of famous websites accusing others of cheating... were cheating themselves. o_O- Dunhamzzz, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1thats because it was so easy and discreet, the map hack actually crashed if you tried to attack units you weren't suppose to see.
Also, Generals Rocked, but it wasn't C&C.
- Dunhamzzz, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1thats because it was so easy and discreet, the map hack actually crashed if you tried to attack units you weren't suppose to see.
- ThaDRD, on 03/19/2008, -0/+1I also loved Generals and Zero Hour...I had never played the others in the series, so that's all I knew. I ended up not playing C&C3 because it appeared to be unlike Generals.
It was tons of fun to play at work...***** would we get each other pissed over that game. Goddamn Colonel Burton. - falkonv7l, on 03/20/2008, -1/+1I really liked Generals, the concept was great, China vs. Middle East vs USA!
