- dasdef, on 06/11/2008, -0/+5Budget gaming machines are nothing new to a bargain hunter! and you can save alot more money by buying USED. i built a machine for around $330 and im able to play crysis on 1024x768 with details at medium high at around 30 fps.. It sometimes dips lower, but i dont even play crysis that much. TF2 runs at 1680x1050 with most specs up high with a good 45 fps.
The specs arent even 'entry level' at this point in time but for $330 the price is right for the performance that i get.
generic 600 watt PS
Antec p180b
amd 3800x2 (Will eventually upgrade to 5000+X2 BE)
AM2 mobo
2 GB Ram
ati 3850 (thinking of upgrading to a 9600 GT, they can be had for $100)
and a 320 gb sata hard drive
This set up runs most of the games that i throw at it with most details turned up! I am able to play Grid on native resolution (1680x1050) with all details on highest, save for MSAA, though it is still playable at 4xAA, i do not prefer it.
PC FTW. Buy used, save LOTS of money. - nothugo, on 06/11/2008, -0/+4Who'd've thought it? PC gaming on the cheap FTW!
