- IAreGamerDotCom, on 07/16/2008, -0/+2"Intelligent Design" vs Evolution? Except the Evolution side doesn't have anything to do with Evolution? I can't tell whether the creator of this video is deeply religious or just brings up a popular issue through Machinina. Either way, it seems skewed.
- inactive, on 07/16/2008, -1/+2Although... I seriously hope Azeroth wasn't created by a pink unicorn.
- BABusa, on 07/22/2008, -0/+0First off, I've gotta say that I am a huge fan of Oxhorn and his machinima, including this one. Please keep it up!
On the topic of the Creationism v. Evolution argument, I really do not see how so many people believe the two to be mutually exclusive. I'm a religious person, but I also have something of a science/math background; and it isn't hard for me to see the two working together. According to classical mechanics (You could say Newtonian mechanics, it sounds fancier) if you know enough about a sufficient amount of matter, you can determine its immediate future, its just A+B+C. Think about playing a game of pool, if you hit a ball into another at the right angle, you can know where it is going to go every time (Your own talent for billiards not withstanding). Now multiply that by the possibly infinite matter occupying the infinite space that some people believe to make up the universe, and yeah, it is infinitely more complicated, but is it unreasonable to assume that some omnipotent being was able to know and direct the position of every subatomic particle in the universe at the moment of creation, so that if God started the big bang, and walked out the door, he'd still know absolutely everything everyone and every thing ever does until the universe reaches maximum entropy?
Heh, I don't think I've ever outwardly expressed that thought before. Thanks, interweb!
Its not illogical, hell, it makes as much sense as anything else.
even 42.
BA - Draklor, on 09/28/2008, -0/+0Great movie Oxhorn, and people who don't get your message won't ever get it, and for that they will make fun of you and use big words to try to seem like they them self know what they are talking about. I like the tag you end all your movies in btw, it takes guts to express your self in today’s world. Keep true to your beliefs
But the bottom line is, you either belive in God and what the bible says or you belive in science and what other men say. In any event it's faith that you follow be it science or god.
If one cant tell by now=) I chose God --YIPPE!- - DCcomicsboy, on 07/16/2008, -1/+1I can see right off the bat how this video might rub folks the wrong way, as tackling the whole "Creationism Vs Evolution" topic can be tough at the best of times. However, despite what stance some might take concerning the underlying subject of the movie -i.e. The argument of Scientologists concerning the origin of life- I think a firm cudos has to be extended to Mr. Oxhorn for approaching the matter from his usual comical stand-point, and in so doing sharing his view with out making it into a hour long bash fest on another person's beliefs. Many of Oxhorn's other machinimas go about things in a similar fashion, taking the best of both worlds -i.e. WoW and real life concerns- and using them to tell his own opinion while giving funny food for thought. Even if this video went over anyone's head, I felt is was something that could be enjoyed with out taking it too seriously.
- sexualwasabi, on 07/16/2008, -1/+1lol WoW machinima is the funniest
- Varkelen, on 07/16/2008, -4/+0Hmm, I thought it was an interesting spin on the Intelligent Design vs Evolution Debate (Please ID guys, just say creationism for crying out loud? There is nothing foolish about believing in a creator)
I thought you kept the subjects just humorous enough to warrant a full viewing by those who would be offended, but your delivery of your opinions was spot on.
9/10 for an excellent work. Only issue I had was the unicorn slaying everyone, but then I bet God gets angry too.
