- bukiyou, on 06/21/2009, -2/+46"Realtime strategy in the future. With rocket tanks. That's a thousand times cooler than sharks with laser beams on their heads."
this writer has lost all credibility to me. - passedoutghost, on 06/21/2009, -1/+30Damn straight, nothing is cooler than sharks with frikken' laser beams on their heads. NOTHING.
- doctorinfierno, on 06/21/2009, -4/+22These are not awesome.
- jeremymccurdy, on 06/21/2009, -3/+20Six ***** pages? Seriously? It's a good list, but come on.
- Dermbrau, on 06/21/2009, -0/+14That's just an addition to the core concept. Besides the fact that the sharks would be flying fighter jets is a given.
- Dermbrau, on 06/21/2009, -2/+13No Marathon? It's open source and was developed by actual professionals at Bungie.
- passedoutghost, on 06/21/2009, -2/+13Correction, it's: "*Aren't* all games free?"
- jman583, on 06/21/2009, -0/+9What about flying sharks with frikken' laser beams on their heads?
- stormspire, on 06/21/2009, -0/+9Don't know why you are being dugg down - those aren't spam links like most people might think...
- Philbert, on 06/21/2009, -0/+8The article, which I already read, showed me screenshots without asking me to click a bazillion links to see them.
- stk198323, on 06/21/2009, -1/+8He's probably getting dugg down because he could past all of those link but couldn't even add the small line:
Direct link to all the games in the article.
And also because the article already has direct link to the games or download page with an image of the game and a short description contrary to just a random link to a game without even the title of said game. - Virgule, on 06/21/2009, -0/+5...and have many worthy mods like Eternal and Rubicon.
- chilemaniac, on 06/21/2009, -0/+4Wow, I had completely forgotten about Enemy Territory, I used to play that game constantly. I would highly recommend it to anyone, it is a really solid shooter, despite being a bit dated. I'm going to go download it right now.
- AEnkryption, on 06/21/2009, -5/+9You sir, are old.
- newl, on 06/21/2009, -0/+4FreeCiv is indeed a time waster. I used to burn 8-10 hours on a single multiplayer game with mates back in the mid to late 90s. Might have to take it for a spin again. Thanks for the reminder! =)
- analreceiver, on 06/21/2009, -0/+4Phun sounds like a fun game
- fuzzyllama, on 06/21/2009, -6/+9Nice list! thanks for posting it. can't wait to try a few of these out.
- MikeCollie1990, on 06/21/2009, -0/+3No Runes Of Magic love?
- kevisazombie, on 06/22/2009, -0/+3Awesome list check out http://www.digizal.com/categories/Fun+%26+Games/al ... for some more that they are missing. Toribash is awesome
- ImYourRealDad, on 06/21/2009, -0/+3I love ET. Too bad it died years ago :'[
- mrboojangles04, on 06/21/2009, -1/+4late 90's was only 10 years ago. How does that make someone old? Unless the Digg userbase is now comprised of 16 year olds.
- antdude, on 06/22/2009, -1/+3Boring games. :P
- aforsberg, on 06/21/2009, -0/+2BRB, playing Enemy Territory.
- Nephersir7, on 06/22/2009, -0/+2Dugg for Neverball/Neverputt
- kevisazombie, on 06/22/2009, -0/+2This site has a good listing and a bunch the article overlooked
http://www.digizal.com/categories/Fun+%26+Games/al ... - Pxtl, on 06/22/2009, -0/+2Yay, a website I built just got a mention on an article in Digg's main page (I helped build Quadropolis, the Sauerbraten content website).
I feel so special! - Masterful1, on 06/30/2009, -0/+2FTA: "Want more RTS action? Check out the list of games built on the Spring Engine, which feature themes like Star Wars, Gundam, and WWII (Spring: 1944). Thanks, Waldo!"
- Pxtl, on 06/22/2009, -0/+2No mention of any Spring games? I mean, I realize that most of the TA-based ones are abandonware/piracy, so that's out, but there's still good ones like Kernel Panic, Gundam, and Spring:1944.
- Bic823, on 07/09/2009, -0/+1desktop tower defence.
- klitzbtc, on 06/22/2009, -0/+1Sauerbraten is quite possibly the best FPS EVER for Linux. Best instagib gameplay in any game I've ever played.
- shanesemler, on 07/01/2009, -0/+1This is just another "awesome" Linux games list in disguise. The only thing keeping it from being one of those is the exclusion of Tux Racer. And no, none of these are awesome.
- paulsmith288, on 06/25/2009, -0/+1dugg for ET and FreeCIv
- svensksvamp, on 07/06/2009, -0/+1I'm adding Teeworlds to the list.
http://www.teeworlds.com/ - 2Bnor2B, on 06/22/2009, -1/+1Spring keeps getting better. I just wish some of the mods had better voice acting.
Since I learned that Supreme Commander 2 is going for smaller (console compatible) "Demigod like" battles, I recently returned to Spring to check it out. There are a lot of nice improvements. - Kewickviper, on 06/24/2009, -1/+1Buried for being spread over 5 pages. Thanks alot.
- suiraCLAW, on 06/21/2009, -2/+2And they forgot another awesome one: http://www.dofus-arena.com/en/ (open beta, but gold version will be free as well)
- gastly, on 06/21/2009, -4/+3cool list! I'm gonna download some of them right away! :D
- Jonathunder, on 06/22/2009, -3/+1but you can download ANY game for free
- worseforwine, on 06/21/2009, -4/+2That ain't no word
- mrdeadhead, on 06/21/2009, -4/+1that looks like a bunch of bad games.
- tonychenyj, on 06/21/2009, -7/+2LinCity?? Copy version of SimCity? I remember there is a Snake Game which is cross-platform as well.
- c00per, on 06/21/2009, -5/+0My bad. You is really good at english grammar I guess.
- kleon777, on 06/21/2009, -7/+0What about Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time?
- c00per, on 06/21/2009, -20/+1Isn't all games for free?
