Jeremy probably couldn't hit a bus with a sledge hammer let alone a flying car with projectile weapons. But we'll assume he did, as it's more fun to enjoy it and take things with a pinch of salt.

And yes we do let our crazy ass presenters do insane stuff like this in the UK. This is just one of many totally crazy things Jeremy Clarkston has done through the years.
He gets to do things for a job that most men can only ever dream about - and he gets paid (a lot) for it too.

- Hutch863, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6I think you're right andrewman, the Carl Gustav is a recoiless rifle -- it doesn't use rocket assisted rounds (although it can use a round that uses a rocket to boost the range in mid-flight). In addition to that, if he was shooting a true rocket at the car, the camera man (who's standing right behind him) would have been burned badly, or killed, by the hot gasses coming out the rear of the tube.

You might be seeing the trail of smoke that falls to the ground quickly and think thats where the rocket came from, But if you look at the trajectory of the missile everything is in order. - drschloss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Top Gear is bloody fantastic!

Secondly he would never be able to hit the flying car targets on his first go, if at all. And thirdly the real impact of those weapons, expect the third one maybe, wouldn't be at all visually interesting (eg. not giving much of an explosion).

- mugdecoffee, on 10/12/2007, -5/+6He actually didn't shoot any of the guns. When he shoots the shotgun, it is from his waist even though he's shooting at a moving object that is far away. When he shoots the machine gun, he doesn't line it up either but instead just leaves it on the ground. And when he fires the rocket, he is not looking through the scope.

As we all remember from mythbusters, shooting a car anywhere will not make it blow up, and the rpg actually LOOKED fake. (besides the fact that he was extremely accurate with all the weapons without even aiming)
