- roosterjm2k2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+45Its not luck or devine intervention.
Its common sense on his part, and its exactly why he was standing where he was.
If you've ever had the chance to watch a rally race in person (well, watch one turn, its quite boring, i'd rather watch on tv) ... you would know that space around structures is a premium. People make a point to get into or around any kind of solid structure...thats why. He even waited till the last second to decide which side to move to, which is also the best course of action...
Smarts, not luck. - belfastbiker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+35Damn, tree didn't even flinch. I'm making my next car outta trees.
- pufuwozu, on 10/12/2007, -3/+30Anyone else notice 'kevin=tool' in the URL?
- Helois, on 10/12/2007, -0/+21He used Ninja skills no fluke involved, see how it didn't even effect him he just turned round to help?
Ninja style. - S1L3NTC, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18Yeah, he definitely used his ninja training on that one.
A pirate wouldn't have seen it coming because of their eye patch. Even if they did, all they could have done was stick out their peg leg and yell "Avast!". - Wonkanobi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16That dude is gonna celebrate Arbor Day so hard.
- bakagaigin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16@S1L3NTC
This may be true, but extra injuries/amputations don't really bother a pirate; if anything it adds to his character! - TeCuervo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15Wow, I've never read comments like that one before... /moron
- Sabin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14Also a lucky bastard.
- GOJOE, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12Fluke

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8087007899058958385&hl=en - astrosmash, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6The guy was watching from behind that tree for a reason.
- konig12, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5What happened to the guy in the car??
- ryanonfire, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5O.o that's one strong tree
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3he got a dui
- rally1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3No, that is why you never spectate on the outside of the curve at a rally race. The only exception being race officials, or marshals, which he appears to be.
- TeCuervo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4If I were him I would become a tree hugger...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2they cut the video he chokes on the whistle and dies
- dawtcalm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yeah the #2 one is even better!
- ahughes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This just goes to show you how stupid our instincts are.
This guy starts running in line with the car's trajectory. The best way to avoid something is to run 90 degrees, or perpendicular to an object's trajectory. But we never seem to do it. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2@mlwarr I'm not being a ***** but how many times did it take before that comment
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1the bastard was lucky as hell and he still called a foul on him
- m3mn0n, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1watch the video above.... dude almost got owned on the inside of a turn
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@toasty tell them I'm not here
- antgoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Enough with the non-descriptive titles people. It's getting out of hand. Every other day I see a video post with a title and description that doesn't explain what it is I'm looking at. That's real lazy on the part of the poster.
- allholy1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2dugg because it's google video instead of youtube
- toastybuns, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22004 called, they want their video back
- truman48, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I would dry-hump that tree after that
- hsbsitez, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If he is a bastard, he could use some luck in his life.
- monkzero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1digg for after that wreck people were letting off air horns. and on the lucky 2 video, you hear laughs. guess cause it was an old man flippin out.
- nick34, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Holy. *****.
- mlwarrior, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3I wonder how many times I've seen this on digg now....
- brnkstyle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0thats ill is all i gotta say thank god for mother nature and her beautiful trees lol
- Mushroonaut, on 07/11/2008, -1/+1Now he has to worship that tree for life!!!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1is it luck or skill that this made the front page. go to utube I'm guessing that their are 100 more videos similar to this, i will try to miss it
- Salgat, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Not luck, skill.
- hunter360, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Why do people stand around most dangerous part of any race course, the outer turns? The outer turns are pretty much the only place where a driver can loose control. I've seen this a bunch of times in ralley races, but with outcomes not quite as lucky as this
- deviouskoopa, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3Nothing that amazing... He was standing behind the tree in the first place. He's just lucky a tire or something didn't come off and decapitate him.
- vanguardanon, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0If you watch auto events at all you'll know standing by something to protect you is normal behavior. It's not luck, it's experience.
- Johnpaine, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1I'd say that tree dropped a few apples
- KirbyAWD, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0Great clip. I've probably had it on my HD for 3 years now and I love watching it every time. I hope that guy stil counts his lucky stars lol.
- cipl, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0Good one
- MBX1, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2first
- effinboy, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0lmfao.
- MikeZ, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1God put that tree there for a reason
- Adrianc333, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1O L D!
- nooreazy, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1I think the tree should've moved/broken
- TeCuervo, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1A tire would decapitate him?
