- MagnumVP, on 10/11/2007, -4/+98It's not because of his stone skipping ability he gets the ladies, but because of the high class shirt he wears.
- Calculon, on 10/11/2007, -0/+52I like how this is in the "sports" category! :)
- dantidote, on 10/11/2007, -0/+46...27, 28, 29, 50!
- mannymix03, on 10/11/2007, -3/+49"get out of them ripples!"
- BrokenWind, on 10/11/2007, -0/+36obviously steroids were involved
- op12, on 10/11/2007, -1/+26Site's not loading, but this appears to be the same thing (in just 9 seconds):
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5986428421505937857 - taintedzodiac, on 10/11/2007, -1/+24Yes, yes. We all know that stoners get all the ladies.
- hammerton1, on 10/11/2007, -3/+26Damn hippies...
- cr4ft, on 10/11/2007, -4/+22hey, leave them alone, they're just "stoned" happy people
- snowpatrol, on 10/11/2007, -0/+16Penis.
- scuzzman, on 10/11/2007, -3/+18So I take it you have a better world record? Oh, no? Then shut the ***** up.
- lechatron, on 10/11/2007, -2/+13Not steroids, weed.
- cvrefugee, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9Thanks for that, Uncle Rico.
- dsmatrix, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9i bet he does :(
- falstaff, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Rock paper scissors strategies, stone skipping, more RC vehicle videos than you can shake a stick at....
Digg Video section, where were you when I was 8? - ladofdestiny, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6what's the go with all the little skips at the end....there must be some quick counting going on...seems dodgy.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5performance enhancing drugs nonetheless. Take away his medal!
- ngandy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Next on FoxSports. Beyond the Glory: Kurt Steiner. Watch as we see his world crumble as his 40 skip record is broken. From near obscurity to total obscurity, this man was a legend for 5 years...to exactly 12 people. In a world where backwoodsmen and hippies collide in a peaceful stone throwing battle, a country boy can survive...but not for long. Welcome to the wondrous world of Stone Skipping.
Previous record and it's title holder: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yzBjsSR4kmE - sully213, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6I don't think it's that impressive. It's next to impossible to get an accurate count with this as the skips at the end are so close together. I remember doing throws with similar number of skips as a kid across a good sized creek, often going completely across and onto the land on the other side. If you get the right stone, they can skip just as much as that guy's did.
What I did enjoy, however, was the NSFW section on that site. It just needs some more videos ;) - theheights, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5I would have liked to see the stone so I know what kind of stones to be looking for.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3flat, smooth, round, about the size of a silver dollar (big enough to wrap your index and thumb around and leave an inch or two gap); actually silver dollars themselves are just about the perfect thing to skip if you don't mind losing them. Of course, everyone has their on particular taste....
I sure would have liked to see that rock though, I bet it was a real beauty... - Heyseuss, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I'd like to take him fishing with me. 50 beaned fish floating on the surface a minute later, easy pickings.
- TheLsh, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2he's hacking nature
- 99Casimir, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1At the end of the article there is an equation on skipping stones.
http://discovermagazine.com/2003/aug/featscienceof - mjfitzge, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2it's all in the wrists...
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3Hips.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1can -> can't (missed the edit (by a longshot...) )
- ersatzphi, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Have you people not heard of slow mo?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Sure brings back childhood memories. I still can walk by a nice round, flat stone on a riverbank without skipping it across...
- EricCiccone, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Right on with the tie dye!
- galapagos, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1It doesn't really seem fair; that man is obviously gaining some kind of stone-skipping power from his mystical swirling hypno-shirt. I for one am not sure I trust him.
- marchaos, on 10/11/2007, -3/+4That's was she said.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0My Life would be so much more complete if I could do this.
- filmbandit, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1i could totally beat that -- where do i sign up
- NefariousX, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1horrible! I love it!
- deadparts, on 10/11/2007, -5/+4Holy!
- Ratking, on 10/11/2007, -7/+6The "World Champ" is wearing a tie-dye shirt, and the video was posted by "bongripper". I don't think that French for "Good Jam".
GET A JOB HIPPIE!!! - scal71609, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0pretty nice throw
- DiggUmFrog, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1*****, i once skipped a stone a quarter mile back in my day.
- andergriff, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1I only counted 49. Just kidding.
- Ratking, on 10/11/2007, -4/+2It's really more of a news story... World Championship and all.
- tomazkovacic, on 10/11/2007, -3/+1cool
- taintedzodiac, on 10/11/2007, -5/+2Is it at all important to do it at all?
- cfelde, on 10/11/2007, -6/+3holy!
- esotericguy, on 10/11/2007, -6/+1i dont care how horrible that was, it made me laugh, dugg up!
- nottidredd, on 10/11/2007, -8/+3there's not many categories under the video section. Do you have a better suggestion where it should go?
- Hermitwise, on 10/11/2007, -7/+2Is it really important to do that better than everyone else in the world?
- thcobbs, on 10/11/2007, -13/+8The only reason he gets ladies is he bounces a rock off their skull and THEN has some fun.
- witte, on 10/11/2007, -7/+1Lame and inaccurate. Lame because anybody can do this if they rotate their rock so quickly. Inaccurate because there is no evidence in the video that any official world record judge is present.
- anonatron, on 10/11/2007, -11/+3Skip to 0:42 of any other video for the interesting part.
