Dana White always said that T.U.F. was Kimbo's only way into the UFC. - shinda, on 06/02/2009, -1/+36dude had no real fight experience and he was getting his opponents spoon fed and lost to someone who barley made the cut to begin with... now if anything else is a chance for him to really prove himself.
- inactive, on 06/02/2009, -1/+30It would agree except he lost via baby punch to the face. Kimbo is going to get his beard punched off and everyone knows it.
- smashblu, on 06/02/2009, -4/+29Kimbo is a joke. It takes skill to be a fighter, it doesn't matter how many bums you beat up (or if you look like a bum).
- mnemy, on 06/02/2009, -0/+23We didn't judge him on one fight. We judged him on all his fights, in which he looked sloppy and out of shape. Pretty much the black version of Tank Abbott. MMA is a legit sport now. There's no place for bar fighters anymore.
Go look for a place in WWE kimbo. - sinurgy, on 06/02/2009, -0/+20I don't really see a problem with this, why not give Kimbo a shot? He's never been the bad guy here, it was the EliteXC douche bags who used him as a marketing tool. While I would agree Kimbo shouldn't be handed a contract, I think competing on TUF is perfect for him. If he gets spanked then that's the end of it, if he does well then kudos to him and great for the UFC.
- inactive, on 06/02/2009, -1/+20LoL at Kimbo being knocked down by the weakest punch ever thrown in MMA, by a guy in a lower weight division who was supposed to fight on the undercard. Whats even more funny is that EliteXC had to declare bankruptcy after that show.
Kimbo failed so hard that he took an entire organization down with him. - m3arvk, on 06/02/2009, -2/+16Kimbo can brawl but that doesn't (as we all know) mean he can last with a seaonsed MMA.
- lincolnparkx, on 06/02/2009, -1/+12Kimbo vs. Jose Canseco, now that would be a fight for the ages
- TheBigBad, on 06/02/2009, -0/+10now he's really gonna get his ass kicked.
- inactive, on 06/02/2009, -0/+10Kimbo wasnt defending himself, even if he wasnt out of it just yet, he wasnt even experienced enough to know what to do in that situation.
- TheBigBad, on 06/02/2009, -2/+11Compared to MMA, boxing is, well, boring.
- arthursk, on 06/02/2009, -2/+9This isn't a movie, it's real life.
- Brassbud, on 06/02/2009, -1/+8"The kids; they call me Mr. Glass."
- alexforcefive, on 06/02/2009, -1/+8You want fedor in TUF?
- inactive, on 06/02/2009, -0/+7Why would you even dream of inviting those guys into TUF? They would just steamroll the TUF fighters. It wouldn't even be interesting. The whole point of the show is that supposedly anyone in the house can win.
- inactive, on 06/02/2009, -0/+6no, we were judging him on the fact that he was fighting burnouts from 10 years ago who were on humongous losing streaks. Kimbo isnt even a top 50 HW.
- dolemite01, on 06/02/2009, -0/+6Ratings boost for TUF, granted anyone with any beans of MMA knowledge knows Kimbo is a hack but it will def boost ratings, how many TUF contenders were on late night talk shows prior to TUF.
- snowrail, on 06/03/2009, -1/+7TUF is perfect for Kimbo -- Kimbo has potential, but he needs training. Which is what goes on on that show. And if Kimbo is serious about redeeming himself, you can bet he's training very hard already, since the EliteXC fiasco must have been quite a wake-up. That said, he's pretty old...
- ViciousFishes, on 06/02/2009, -0/+6Makes me wonder if Dana will stack the cast to punish and embarrass Kimbo, or if he will put him in there with a bunch of creampuffs so he can have another marketable heavyweight.
- sterlzbd, on 06/02/2009, -1/+6Just curious how did Kimbo get cheated at Elite XC?
- ZzFDKzZ, on 06/03/2009, -0/+5LMAO @ Fedor not being the best P4P fighter.
- Super6, on 06/03/2009, -1/+6I don't care if he's not a good fighter, we all know he sucks on the ground, but he looks scary and I enjoy watching him fight. I'm not into MMA but I've watched every time he was on.
- TrevorBelmont, on 06/02/2009, -0/+5This is true, but at the time neither man was champ. They have a rematch to consolidate the title scheduled.
- snowrail, on 06/03/2009, -0/+5I think you (and many other posters) are not understanding the difference between being offered a spot on TUF (the TV show about trying to break into the UFC) and actually being offered a fight/contract for a UFC event. They're very different offers, and one is totally appropriate for Kimbo, and the other isn't.
- TrevorBelmont, on 06/02/2009, -0/+4As I recall, that little pink haired white boy knocked him the fug out!
- snowrail, on 06/03/2009, -0/+4A solid percentage of people on TUF are not seasoned... that's the whole point of the show.
- jinjin, on 06/02/2009, -2/+6Don't hate something that your feeble brain doesn't understand.
- phenom2k7, on 06/02/2009, -0/+4hardtoconfuse
The UFC bought Pride. The opportunity was there to have brought all of those fighters into the UFC. It was all down to contract negotiations. It's a damn shame that we aren't going to see the best heavyweight in the world fight against the best heavyweights in the UFC. Also, why the hell would the UFC want Sakuraba and Fujita, they are way past their prime. - Tunic, on 06/02/2009, -0/+4Agree with above, yet there are so few reasons to go to the ground if you can take your opposition out while standing, and it makes for a much more entertaining show, why do you think they enforce the rule?
- ionelementz112, on 06/02/2009, -0/+4Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Tim Sylvia fought for the UFC Interim Heavy Championship while Randy Couture was trying to get out of his UFC contract so he could fight Fedor Emelianenko. When Randy came back after failing to leave the UFC, the UFC had a 4 man bracket with the interim champ, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira defending against Frank Mir, and Randy Couture defending against Brock Lesnar. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Randy Couture were the favorites to continue and unify the two belts, but Frank Mir and Brock Lesnar were spoilers. They'll be unifying the titles at UFC 100
- ZzFDKzZ, on 06/02/2009, -0/+3Kimbo was out.
- inactive, on 06/03/2009, -0/+3But you fail to recall everything that has taken place since then.
- ZzFDKzZ, on 06/02/2009, -0/+3There's tons of elite level GnP fighters.
- snowrail, on 06/03/2009, -0/+3There have been people on TUF who've never had a pro fight before...
- cheddaro, on 06/02/2009, -1/+4This will be the first season of The Ultimate Fighter that I will put on the DVR. Kimbo Slice may not be a great fighter, but he sure is fun to watch.
I'm sure a lot of people like me and will be tuning in for the first time. - chaos7, on 06/03/2009, -0/+3lyoto machida and anderson silva are the best
- mulling, on 06/03/2009, -1/+3Kimbo needs to get out of fighting and get into films. He would be awesome as B.A. if they made a fresh A-Team reboot.
- cr0c0dile76, on 06/03/2009, -0/+2Wtf does that have to do with anything?
- globalnomad, on 06/02/2009, -2/+4This is all for marketing.
Kimbo was in the largest televised fight...
Fedor ftw! - Frnnkdlxx, on 06/02/2009, -0/+2Seth Petruzelli proved that. As well as grizzly, unformed, police officer, ***** fighter "Bear"
- DannyDriffs, on 06/02/2009, -0/+2Evans and Rampage coaching as well.
- ZzFDKzZ, on 06/03/2009, -0/+2He hasn't train with Bas in almost 1 year.
- ZzFDKzZ, on 06/03/2009, -0/+2I heard him and Rampage try out for B.A.
- Tunic, on 06/02/2009, -0/+2More like Great Move Dana, a lot of people who watched Kimbo on youtube, tuned to EliteXC on CBS and have never even seen UFC (I know some of these people, who thought EXC was "MMA").
This is a great chance to use a pawn (Kimbo) turn those eyes to the pinnacle of MMA which is UFC and then keep their eyes trained on real fighters after Mr. Slice gets his teeth stuffed into the back of his head during the show. - inactive, on 06/02/2009, -0/+2There are a few decent fighters that came from the street. Kimbo can be a great fighter too if he's given adequate training.
- silvern88, on 06/03/2009, -0/+2down digged for using ***** bing
- adorkable81, on 06/02/2009, -0/+2yeah, but bozzzzing is too long, too boring, and not enough knock out, and it last freaking 12 rounds.... I got ***** to do, i like to go "ohhhh *****" when somebody knock the craps out of somebody on the floor....
bozzzzing is mildly fun when there is pacquiao in it - ZzFDKzZ, on 06/03/2009, -0/+2Bas no longer trains him. Bas said that he won't train him no more.
