Matt Hughes is IN HIS PRIME!!! Royce Gracie was pushing 40 when that fight occured. Back in the early 90's royce gracie defeated anyone he encountered both in pride and in the ufc in any weight class! No one will be as legendary as Royce gracie. Do you remember what it was like back in the day, when nobody took grappling seriously for a real fight and thought that Kung Fu and Karate were the ultimate martial arts? How long did that go on? That's SO true, Crocop was seriously pissed - rjam710, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The Gracies revolutionized BJJ and all of martial arts, so even if you don't like them, give them the respect they've earned. If it wasn't for Royce kicking everyone's ass back in the early days of UFC and Pride, no one would've realized the importance of good ground skills. While you can't base your whole fighting style on grappling alone, as today's well rounded fighters have shown, you won't get anywhere if you can't hold your own on the ground. MMA today is based on three core elements: striking, wrestling, and grappling. Without the Gracies' influence, we wouldn't have the sport that we have now.

- Jerky1312, on 10/12/2007, -10/+4I usually don't mind Rogan's blunt comments on the fight and the organization, he tells it the way he sees it and usually I agree with him. After this specific knockout, his commentary was annoying. Constantly pointing out how CroCop's knee and ankle were mangled was too much, I and everyone watching the replays saw his leg. It was as if he got turned on by the gross disposition CroCop was it and wanted everyone else to see what excited him.
