- rhinopig, on 10/12/2007, -2/+98only NSFW if your boss is a turkey.
- DayTime, on 10/12/2007, -3/+92As ***** up as this is...I bet it's actually less painful for the turkey than a shotgun blast to the chest/head.
- crapu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+71I love how this is under "Pets & Animals" on youtube.
- Gryffydd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+57Yeah, because the turkey you get from the grocery store was raised at sugarcandy mountain and then died peacefully in its sleep. At least wild turkeys get to live a little before they *maybe* get killed by a hunter.
- rqwhitaker, on 10/12/2007, -5/+60Does it make me a racist that I thought the people in Turkey had developed some ***** up way to speed up their executions?
- rhinopig, on 10/12/2007, -2/+51Someone needs to edit in the UT "Head Shot" and/or "Decapitation" voices.
- zeno60, on 10/12/2007, -8/+49Am I the only one worried about Dick Cheney getting his hands on this?
- hawk0168, on 10/12/2007, -11/+49Based on your comment I could probably make an attack against conservatives, but I know not to make generalizations.... unlike SOME people
- fivestarsoul, on 10/12/2007, -12/+49Don't worry hawk, I will.
@ Crillbilly
I'm sorry, but you can't just decapitate anyone opposed to ***** your relatives. - reyvehn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+33BOOM HEADSHOT!!!
- np374, on 10/12/2007, -1/+31As sick as it looks, this method seems humane because it's head is cut off immediately, it's better then being shot in the ass with an arrow and dying slowly.
- Factionrider, on 10/12/2007, -0/+30Or if you work for Peta.
- DarthTurducken, on 10/12/2007, -1/+30It's good to see that someone is taking the zombie turkey menace as seriously as I do.
- xtmno3, on 10/12/2007, -2/+26You might want to mute the video to avoid the Futureweapons sounding voice over.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -8/+32It takes advanced arrows, bows, a nifty ninja suit and a big structure to kill one turkey?
I want to see this guy fight a bear one on one in hand combat. - tomtucker378, on 10/12/2007, -8/+30PETA = People Eating Tasty Animals
- mrmcphee, on 10/12/2007, -1/+23And a lot healthier, more humane, and better for the ecosystem in certain areas (if the turkey is a non-native species like in California) than buying a farm raised turkey.
- MackDiesel2010, on 10/12/2007, -3/+22It's just turkeys we're talking about; dead is dead
- MackDiesel2010, on 10/12/2007, -2/+20Richard Machowicz: (Whispering) "This state-of-the-art weapon system is truly remarkable. As a former Navy SEAL, I can assure you that decapitation is the most desireable way to stop the enemy--fast! The precision and accuracy of the Guillotine high-cleaving arrow system will ensure the U.S. turkey hunter's dominace well into the forseeable future."
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+20It's the same effect with a shotgun.
BTW
If you don't take the head off the feathers are really hard to get out. - RocketSeason, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16Excellent piece of equipment. Great way to take a turkey, doesnt ruin the meat. The only thing I don't really go for is hunting from within a tent. Its much more of a challenge to take a turkey while sitting out in the open. They have amazing eyesight and are very cautious.
- keegan3d, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14Yeah, also seams better then bleeding to death from a normal arrow or shot gun blast, like you said.
- codyman, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14I feel that its hard for the anti-hunting crowd to criticize bow hunters... the weapon takes a lot of effort to learn to use effectively and the game has a very fair chance to get away from an arrow verses a bullet / shot.
- donjaime, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10What happens when you miss, and the guillotine arrow strikes squarely in the the turkey's body?
Does it punch a 5 inch hole? - Xyleene, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11It's not impossible! I used to bullseye whomp-rats with my 410 back home.
- Ibox, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Baiting is illegal! And no that stuff is't nessicary but it makes it a little easier... Hunting is very difficult, if you play by the rules.
- HabboX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7HIGHLANDER IV: IN SEASON
There can be only one! Turkey MacLeod. Born in the highlands of Scotland in 1563, the immortal Turkey MacLeod confronts a human warrior in possession of a new decapitation technology. Can he revenge the death of his 300 year-old cousin, Gobbler MacLeod? - Undyingmortal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Like caponuem said, this is doing the same thing a shotgun would do. You shoot the turkey in the head because a) it kills instantly and b) you don't want to be chewing on your turkey and break you teeth on a bb.
- SteelFrog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6We raise various breeds of turkey and chicken and one thing does come to mind: it would actually better to use a regular arrow and let them bleed than to chop the head right off when you're talking about meat.
Granted, it's much less humane but chopping the head forces the muscles to contract and makes the meat much tougher. Letting them bleed on the other hand allows a bit of time, thus allowing the muscles to relax and become tender. The same thing can be said for chickens.
Again, I'm not advocating cruelty, but I thought you might find it interesting. - jchip, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6It seems cruel to cut the turkey's head right off, but it is much better than a wounded bird flying off and floundering around. Compared to a broadhead and trying to hit the turkey's small kill zone, this is a quick, clean way to take a turkey with a bow.
- fivestarsoul, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7That was you? I really don't like breaking bad news in public spaces, but that... wasn't a turkey.
- leffunov, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Wow, after all the intelligent arguments I make to reverse the stereotypical expectation liberals have towards republicans. All gains are lost through one stupid sociopath........ I give up
- bbendele, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4They need the voice from Mail Call
- Ubernero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Hey if it works, it works.
- SLYK, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5ever seen the spread on a full choke? even if it's just on a 410? you'll lose a few pieces.
- TuxedoMax, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Odd. for some reason I was expecting something more like this
http://youtube.com/watch?v=mQmEXYCJtoA - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4awwww; he got one while it was "getting some" at around 0:09
at least let the poor guy finish up before you pop his head off! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5@slyk
except when you use a shotgun you aim for the head with a full or modified choke jesus Christ people - test5477, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2damn, i bet that will work on all kinds of barnyard & woodland creatures..
love to see some shots where the turke are more than like 20 feet away though..but i guess they are showing off the product.
next i want to see something that shoots throwing stars.. - ManHammer, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Sweet....and cheaper then my method -- hitting them with my bumper at 55mph
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+8as a turkey hunter this is actually a great product
- eggo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2No, that's just the sweet taste of murder.
Mmmmm... Delicious murder... - draculthemad, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3"Walk up to it and ring its neck."
I dunno where you are from, but around here wild turkey might be fairly bold, but you can not walk up to them. - Lion9, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If you eat meat you should be ok, willing and able to kill the animal yourself. End of story.
There is no difference between shooting a wild cow (if there is such a thing) for food and picking up some hamburgers on the way home from work.
At least in the wild you know the animal hasn't been mistreated. - inurb, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5That is the most awesomest thing I will see today!
- SilentSpyder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The legend of the flying guillotine.
- mrlyons, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1As a hunter who has hunted turkeys, the only place to shoot them and kill them quickly is the head. Hunting turkeys with a bow is really difficult because an arrow to the head is a near impossible shot, but using a shotgun its much easier. The turkey anatomy is really protective of its body, minus the head. Obviously this is slightly disturbing, seeing turkeys heads get lopped off, but in terms of ethics its the quickest and most painless way to kill the bird in a hunting scenario.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1nice starwars/familyguy refrence
@Xyleene - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I really don't get hunting. Seriously folks. I mean, to have fun I like Mountain Biking, playing sports, watching sports, hanging out with friends, picking up chicks etc etc etc.
For the life of me, I can't understand how someone can say "Hey, lets go hide in the bushes and shoot me some animals". Can someone please explain. - mikeon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That was the real sad part in the video. Turkey is busy on top and then blam, wings start flapping and it's on the ground with a lost head.
