Ferrari F1 vs Ferrari 550 vs Fiat
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zIwMXyRCBJ4 - Flipswitch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Fantastic, engineering marvels those F1 cars are. And kicking around in that rally car looks like a blast too, and it actually might not tear my face off with it's power like the F1...
- bobcrotch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I think I could be 80 years old and hearing an F1 car racing around a track would still give me chills up my spine.
- joeydoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Along with other F1 drivers, I think Johnny Herbert is, or was, the Stig.
... The Stig!..... With that voice!!
I think we have found out why he never speaks. - MoeB, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5This is no a top gear episode. This is from one of Clarkson's videos that he does every year.
- wiggimt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Is it even Top Gear? I don't see any revealing marks so it could very well be a Jeremy Clarkson DVD special.
Just a guess. - diggdong, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5F1 is so sexy. Ralley is so ...ralley!
- englishganxta, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It's also not the top gear track, its Silverstone...
- jpt62089, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3What are the actual speed differences in MPH? It seemed like the normal car was only going 50-70MPH...
- superal1394, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Don't hate on the rally cars, the engineering that goes into those ends up in your car 99 percent of the time, unlike the F1 cars, where most of the stuff is just insane. Rally gave us AWD, the high efficiency small block engines, ect.
Then again, traction control came from F1, so did synthetic oils
I'm going to shut up now - thentro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Average speed for...
The Couger was 66 MPH
The Focus was 88.5
The F1 was 123.5
The track is 3.194 miles long. - sobe86, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I think it might be from the old run of top gear (1977-2001), it doesn't have the same glossy feel to it as the current format.
- MrHoju, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It is interesting to see the different racing lines that the rally car and the F1 can take due to their setups. The third to last turn in the rally car is so sweet. Power sliding and setting up the exit line so perfectly. Too bad I am never around to watch the WRC on the Speed channel.
- almighty, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4This video is almost as old as the Atlantic ocean.
- gregm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What episode was this from? Anyone?
- IHaveIssues, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I hope they rehearsed that final corner or it could have been nasty.
- sebastianje, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2You might be right!!
- rhettnyedotorg, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4this is probably among the most awesome clips ever. i think it was the adrenaline rush i had after seeing those burnouts at the end.
burnouts are sweet! - englishganxta, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1McRae needs to learn how to smile!
- hunter360, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hmmmm! This video is a lot like THIS ONE!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKrihDhyhgQ
I wonder who ripped off who. Hehee - MikeyMoose, on 01/30/2009, -1/+1"Never been done before" my ass! I rented a VHS years ago where Lauda drove a McLaren, Hunt drove a Cortina and someone else drove a something something... (RS 200 maybe?)
Exact same "Ooooh, I think I'll have a cup of tea", or, "just finishing the paper" type start...
s - TrojanTM, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Now you can all stop wondering... This video was from an old Top Gear show. I do not entitle my videos without knowing where the footage came from. Colin McRae does need to learn to smile and Johnny Herbert needs to stop being so cheeky but that is besides the point. This is some great footage I 'Dugg' out and most people love it.
- 2gig, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Never been done before.. except by a show on Discovery channel - "beyond 2000" or something like that.. about 15 years ago. And the Indy driver made a cup of coffee before taking off.
good video.. but hardly original. - sebastianje, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0yup had submitted that one earlier. then people suggested they would prefer it if it was done by
top gear :-)!! - Dayz, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1So as you can see this was *****
- Dayz, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1go find out yourself. Find the length of the track, then look at the times they gave you and find the actual speed. I'm to lazy. I'm interested how fast the Couger went it did seem slow
