A magazine is where the ammo is actually stored in the firearm where it is ready to load into the gun. While we're at it, you don't load "bullets" into a firearm; they are called cartridges. Bullets are only the projectile (the ouchy part) that leaves the firearm.

A clip is used to load cartridges into a magazine, the magazine being a place where cartridges are held in the gun prior to being loaded into the firing chamber. Many modern firearms have removable and swappable magazines, but others have internal magazines that are either loaded by hand or by a clip. Clips are not exclusive to revolvers.

    So my friends father and his friends head to an outdoor shooting range, just an open field with painted lanes and whatnot. These four thug looking guys show up, two with handgun cases, and one removes his gun. He pulls out a brand new chrome finished Desert Eagle .50cal. So the witnessing group is all "dayum" then proceeds to crack jokes about them holding it sideways. Well, he did hold it sideways. Before he fired, the men discussed whether or not they should warn him about his own stupidity. It was too late, he squeezed the trigger, and the pistol swung back into his face hard enough that an ambulance had to be called. lol

The shooter (Travis Tomasie) in this ten year old video was recruited by the AMU, Army Marksmanship Unit.     Furthermore, while the stresses and rigors of competition aren't the same as the adrenaline dump of combat, they are similar. SF draws on gun gamers for inspiration. The new trend of piggy backed electro optics on magnified optical sights for example, was a gun gaming innovation that found its way onto the battefield, in the form of a the ACOG-ECOS, Trijicon RDS, TNVC SAR-1, Aimpoint T-1, Burris Fastfire etc. etc.
