- estate, on 01/15/2009, -2/+19Ah yes, another "World" list that leaves out countless left-handed geniuses from other countries. Nadal probably only thrown in to give it the appearance of a "World" list. Matthew Hayden (cricket) springs to mind. I don't know enough soccer players but I'm willing to bet there are a few who'd make any proper "World" list.
- publishcron, on 01/14/2009, -2/+19WTF, no Bobby Orr? Gimme a break.
- Moronnoodle, on 01/15/2009, -6/+19Gimme a break - 1 international player and suddenly we have a list of the worlds best lefties?? No cricketers (where being a lefty changes the game), rugby players or soccer stars?
- IRAcarbombs, on 01/14/2009, -3/+15Why isnt Manny Pacquiao on this list?
- thegamingguy, on 01/15/2009, -2/+10dare I say Mike Vick? (who threw the ball lefty as a righty)
- MetalGear7, on 01/15/2009, -10/+17Digg if your a Leftie...
- ricoboy24, on 01/15/2009, -1/+7Manny Pacquiao !
- bezz, on 01/15/2009, -0/+6Left-handed highfive to my fellow lefties.
- Blydchyld, on 01/15/2009, -2/+8Title edited to reflect story - America's Top 10 Left-Handed Athletes
- borez, on 01/15/2009, -2/+7For some it seems, the World does not exist outside of the USA.
- Danblank000, on 01/15/2009, -3/+8never heard of any outside of the top 2, but then again i don't live in America or watch sports filled with advert breaks! Good "WORLD" list again
- borez, on 01/15/2009, -0/+5Yeah... ***** digg, it's terrible and contains nothing but terriblements.
- quomen, on 01/15/2009, -0/+4Your mom made herself famous for her left hand last night.
- HUKI365, on 01/15/2009, -0/+4Gilchrist was way more revolutionary than Hayden...just saying.
- estate, on 01/15/2009, -0/+4Very true, I guess Haydos is just on my mind coz of the retirement. Yes, Gilly would sit comfortably above Hayden, so would Lara.
- aguywithnobeer, on 01/15/2009, -2/+6LACK OF LEBRON JAMES?
Yes, hes left handed. Writes and eats with his left but shoots with his right. That alone makes him #1 on my list. - korimickster, on 01/15/2009, -3/+7***** Digg these days.
- korimickster, on 01/15/2009, -0/+4Look at this *****.
The World's Top 10 Left-Handed Athletes. ***** that. I seriously think I am done with Digg because of this ***** garbage. - totomaster, on 01/15/2009, -1/+4I think Lionel Messi's magical left foot deserves a mention
- strebalicious, on 01/15/2009, -0/+3This list sure is biased towards baseball, huh?
- jnnycakes, on 01/15/2009, -0/+3Morneau's inclusion is a stretch. He only bats left-handed. Other than that he does things right-handed as far as I know.
- gandhirs, on 01/15/2009, -0/+3I don't know any of the athletes in this list, except for Nadal. America is not the world. It should be named "The american sports's top left-handed athletes".
- Fergawa, on 01/15/2009, -1/+3Those first two paragraphs were worthless.
- mousy, on 01/15/2009, -0/+2I'd say the same about your mam; only I got stuck with the left hand, the other bloke got the right hand...
- inactive, on 01/15/2009, -0/+2or Anderson Silva?...this list is bogus
- MetalGear7, on 01/15/2009, -1/+3?
- inactive, on 01/15/2009, -0/+2And the reason we should give a damn is???
- iDoraemon, on 01/15/2009, -1/+3What's an advert? :P
- NYConcepts, on 01/15/2009, -1/+3They should've dug a bit deeper. A lot of these are recent athletes. As a left-hander, I feel offended that they couldn't find someone other than Tebow to put on the list.
- inactive, on 01/15/2009, -0/+2Other famous left handers include Alexander the Great, Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom and Fidel Castro.
- inefekt, on 01/15/2009, -0/+1This has got to be the most pathetic list I've read in a very long time. 'World's Best'? I didn't even have to read the article, just the headline and the originating URL to know that there would be only one international player on the list in Nadal (I'm not counting Ginobli as he plays an American sport on an American team). I was proved absolutely correct. The author's knowledge of cricket is painfully lacking, suggesting that it is not even a sport is one of the more ridiculous comments I've heard, then to populate the list with mainly baseball players, whose origins can be traced back to cricket, is just completely insane. Who let this guy out of whatever institution he was locked up in?
Richie Whitt, you're a douchebag! - inefekt, on 01/15/2009, -0/+1nobody cares whether someone is 'naturally' right handed but plays their respective sport left handed
for the sake of the sport, they're left handed and that's that. - inefekt, on 01/15/2009, -0/+1lol the yanks are the biggest laughing stock on the planet when it comes to sport
everything is a ***** world series, even if the sport is only played by them, ***** ***** - ninjasandshiz, on 01/15/2009, -0/+1Lefties ftw?...eh...
- Kvasaari, on 01/15/2009, -0/+1How about martial arts? Like boxing, judo or mma?
- chaos86, on 01/15/2009, -1/+2... relevant to their athletic skill, Soccer stars are no-handed (except goalies, who are sort of ambitexterous)
- highstdawg, on 01/15/2009, -0/+1World's?? why because it has Nadal?
Tebow is here because he's a pro athlete who plays with teams in and around Florida....right? - IRAcarbombs, on 01/15/2009, -0/+1I think its because MMA still isnt accepted by the upper echelon of sports writers or the media, which is total BS ... i mean how can you not put the P4P fighters from MMA or Boxing on this list.
- Coreyc150, on 01/15/2009, -0/+1Sidney Crosby + Evgeni Malkin both shoot lefty... although Im pretty sure both are right handed.
- kinggimped, on 01/16/2009, -0/+1I care.
Sorry to branch into a sport no self-respecting American would know anything about, but Australian cricketer Mike Hussey bats left-handed but bowls right-handed. He's naturally right-handed, but taught himself to bat as a lefty when he was young because he wanted to bat like Allan Border. He throws with his right hand. He writes with his right hand. Thus, he's right-handed.
It's subjective I suppose, some might consider him left-handed because that's the way he plays the discipline in which he excels, but he's no lefty.
Whether or not this list is pure *****, however, is not subjective. It simply is. - Kvasaari, on 01/15/2009, -0/+1Buried as inaccurate. This is not "the world's top 10 left-handed athletes" list. Author is clearly a dumb american baseball fan, who has very limited experience with other sports.
- shawnanigans, on 01/15/2009, -1/+2Alexander Ovechkin.
- Fountainhead76, on 01/15/2009, -0/+1was that a freudian slip?? "ask her is HE's lefthanded"??? ;)
- kinggimped, on 01/15/2009, -0/+1I was pretty disappointed when I saw this list and saw no Brian Lara. You'd think one of the greatest batsmen ever to have played the sport would at least get an honourable mention.
However, I think the writer of this list's reaction would have been "Cricket? Isn't that an insect or something?". - jefbob, on 01/15/2009, -0/+1to a lot of people "normal" is southpaw, so I am sure you meant to say "righty or southpaw".
- bingostud722, on 01/16/2009, -0/+1Yeah I'm retarted. Thanks Drew Bledsoe. Sorry about Tom Brady.
- jmpsmash, on 01/15/2009, -0/+1Burried. Short sighted article with only American sports in mind. And that's if baseball is even considered a sport.
- jajajija, on 01/15/2009, -1/+2Burried for bad title and lack of "world" in the list
- inefekt, on 01/15/2009, -0/+1you know that's getting really old dude
