- casspa, on 07/08/2009, -12/+713Holy SH*T...worst comment thread in the history of Digg?
- DeFrancoNation, on 07/08/2009, -262/+895Going to try and give this story the bump it deserves.
- inactive, on 07/08/2009, -8/+581At first I thought this was just another example of the rare and mysterious "Let's all Bury every comment" phenomena that sweeps Digg occasionally. Then I actually read some of the Buried comments. Seriously, this is why You Tubers should never be allowed out into the wild.
- Megadeth222, on 07/08/2009, -21/+490Who the ***** is phil?
- khalid066, on 07/08/2009, -10/+395It would seem that the "Defranco Nation" has made alot of new users to register...
wow, these comments are ***** terrible - handheldchimp, on 07/08/2009, -9/+389What the ***** is with the comments?
- inactive, on 07/08/2009, -61/+417WOW YOU ***** FAG YOUTUBERS. GTFO DIGG.
- mimigins, on 07/08/2009, -12/+348This is ***** bizarre. Can you report an entire article's comment section for spamming and general uselessness?
- GunWraith, on 07/09/2009, -6/+334Welcome to all of the new users! If you are wondering why so many of your comments are being buried, it is simply because, unlike many other website comment sections, we at Digg will bury a comment if it is not contributing something to the topic at hand. For example:
"Phil sent me!" does not contribute anything to the conversation, and will therefore be buried. It is nothing personal, and it doesn't matter to most of us where you came from. If a 5 year digg veteran said the same thing, we would bury them too.
"This is an outrage! I thought this kind of racism was weeded out of our justice system!" is a meaningful expression of your opinion and will probably be dugg up and discussed.
I do hope that you enjoy yourself here and continue to contribute to this website. If you have been offended by some of the inhospitable attitudes presented in this topic, I am sorry! I hope you give us a second chance!
/Note: This is a copy of a comment I added to the main thread. However, due to the large number of comments many people won't look further than the first page. Therefore, I am reposting it here as well. - 5ean, on 07/08/2009, -17/+317These comments ***** suck.
- elknino, on 07/08/2009, -19/+306oh please go back to youtube
- grey580, on 07/08/2009, -4/+289Forgetting the Comments.
Are the facts in the espn website story accurately portrayed?
We have dna evidence linking someone else to the crime. And no dna evidence linking the accused to the crime?
WTF is that about?
Appeal that sentence. And sue the sheriffs dept for racism.... where's jesse jackson and all sharpton when you need them? I'm surprised they aren't all over this like white on rice. - Archfiend, on 07/08/2009, -4/+257Thank you for ***** the comments on this article over.
It is noble when you digg an article to raise awareness. It is even more noble to talk about it on your YouTube subscription "show." But what your followers have done is disgraceful, they have desecrated a perfectly good digg with comments supporting your "show", showing no support for Eric in their comments.
This was not the bury brigade. Digg users were simply doing what they were programmed to do, prune comments. - MofS, on 08/13/2009, -28/+269GTFO newfags
- toggaf, on 07/08/2009, -9/+241These comments suck. Looks like most of these people joined today.
- rac1234, on 07/08/2009, -16/+235OK, so Phil is someone annoying. Thanks for clarifying, CZDrNick.
- pedleyr, on 07/08/2009, -4/+210I wish Digg would allow me to "bulk bury" comments.
If I want to read a bunch of people posting the same thing over and over I'll go to YouTube.
I still dugg the article, though - I'm interested to see how this ends up, because if the article portrays an accurate version of the story then surely it will be appealed. - BoutDemCanes91, on 07/09/2009, -6/+200I'm so ***** frustrated that such a good article has been completely turned to *****. We could have had a good discussion about this ***** article but Phillip DeFranco ***** it up with his army of dumbass ***** YouTubers. ***** me I'm done with digg for today, or my ***** head will explode from this ***** of ***** idiocy.
*****!
FUUUCK!! - preppypoof, on 07/08/2009, -9/+202I originally buried this submission because of all of the horrible comments, and because I thought the diggs were all from youtube people flocking to digg. While that may be true, I actually read through the story and found it very well written, and very provoking. I encourage other diggers to read through this as well.
- roxgod666, on 07/08/2009, -10/+202Dear newcoming youtubers, you have assisted a great cause by digging this story. Now please, GTFO.
- 5ean, on 07/08/2009, -5/+196Well, to be fair, most of these users are from youtube. It's the only level of discussion that most of them are capable of understanding, much less engage in.
- BrendanJB, on 07/09/2009, -7/+197/walks in
Hey guys! I just got back from vacation and... WAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!? - inactive, on 07/08/2009, -22/+201Phil from Youtube is a ***** idiot.
- ebaymag0t, on 07/08/2009, -16/+187FAIL
- 8ctavarium, on 07/08/2009, -8/+176This is exactly why people who comment on Youtube should not be allowed to comment on any other website =/
- inactive, on 07/08/2009, -16/+180phil is a ***** idiot
- netneutrality, on 07/08/2009, -1/+160We don't do that here.
- BoutDemCanes91, on 07/08/2009, -12/+169Phil you idiot, thanks for bringing all the ***** YouTube dumbasses to Digg. If you're going to ***** around digg at least do it discretely and not bring the army of youtubers.
- Asvetic, on 07/08/2009, -6/+162Jury of peers... yeah right.
9 white women on the jury for a white female rape victim case against a "black attacker"... that guy was doomed from the start. - GunWraith, on 07/09/2009, -6/+151Welcome to all of the new users! I hope you give us a second chance! - brownsound00, on 07/09/2009, -1/+143The dark armies of Youtube have taken Reddit. They will take Digg by nightfall. We need all the forces we can get. We need all able bodied diggers to bury the tubers to the pits of hell, otherwise Digg will be lost forever.
Godspeed. - sammryder, on 07/08/2009, -4/+140I completely agree. The majority of these people need to learn to hit the reply button and not reply with comments that don't mean anything.
- sweatymongoose, on 07/09/2009, -0/+134This is some reddit plot to destroy us
- yacks, on 07/08/2009, -5/+137Al Sharpton was too busy bringing up race at the Jackson Memorial..
- inactive, on 07/08/2009, -12/+144Digg is going to be the next youtube... for ***** sakes.
- afeitarse, on 07/08/2009, -14/+143I AM NOT A NUMBER, I AM A FREE MAN!
- BoutDemCanes91, on 07/08/2009, -5/+133Who in ***** ***** is Phil?!?!?
This poor man is in prison for a crime he didn't commit, and yet he still thinks positively and looks at a bright side to this. I really wish something could be done for this guy, he came to America to live a better life and reach his dreams, but instead we ***** him over.
*****!!! - afeitarse, on 07/08/2009, -3/+125These comments are getting negative diggs because they add nothing to the conversation. I don't go onto Digg to read 50 people saying "Go phil! I joined because of you!" I go to Digg to hear people's opinions on topics and unique information that they bring to enhance the posted article. I honestly don't give a crap about why a particular person joined or why they like some guy named Phil.
- casspa, on 07/08/2009, -3/+124Because every one is signing up to support Phil. If that's what they're here for I completely support that, but the comments should be constructive, and discuss why this story needs attention. Not why it's getting attention. Use this as a forum to express yourself, not to act merely as a fanboy.
- Amlethus, on 07/08/2009, -1/+121I want him set free, but I don't want to spam useless *****.
- Ohnodonho, on 07/08/2009, -4/+123I buried you so your comment is hidden so people don't see your comment so you will not be seen.
- ECas123, on 07/08/2009, -5/+123No, nobody's not going to say nothing.
- bperin, on 07/08/2009, -4/+121I went to school with this guy, the DA should never had accepted this case based on the evidence, or lack thereof. The guy is in prison now based off the testimony of a girl who was extremely drunk (>.3 bac) who constantly switched stories and mixed up "facts".
- AidenGore, on 07/09/2009, -7/+124GTFO my Digg :(
- inactive, on 07/08/2009, -14/+131I don't think this is a racism issue really so much as a gender one. Men are automatically condemned the moment they are accused of rape, regardless of the validity of the concern. It's a shame that unscrupulous women sometimes use this to make false accusations, but unfortunately anyone who dare cast suspicion on a woman who cries rape regarless of circumstance is labeled a monster.
- BudIcer, on 07/08/2009, -11/+128These comments suck
- dupems, on 07/08/2009, -6/+122I almost want to bury this just to spite 95% of the people leaving worthless comments.
- JoeParanoid, on 07/08/2009, -4/+120Anyone who gets caught in the vise of our criminal justice system is screwed. It's not just the cops who grab the guy they want, regardless of the evidence, and it's not just the prosecutors who believe that anyone caught up in a police dragnet is guilty, it's also our juries who would convict on a "better safe than sorry" standard. The innocent are the hardest to represent because they never want to plea bargain and don't get parole because they refuse to confess.
- ZiggyPlayedG, on 07/08/2009, -0/+111Dear god...not that *****!
- 5ean, on 07/08/2009, -1/+110I'm happy the new registrants have to solve a CAPTCHA for every comment they want to enter. Imagine how much worse this would be if they didn't.
