- middlecon, on 12/19/2008, -0/+3I used to watch roller derby way way back in the mid to late 80s. It was just something to watch when pro wrestling wasn't on. I doubt its every really going to go 'mainstream'.

- haydesigner, on 12/19/2008, -0/+1Are you sure you want to see ALL of them naked??
- Smuikas, on 12/19/2008, -0/+1The girl who would be upset if I called her "my girl" (because she is her own "girl") skates for Garden City Rollergirls (Bridge & Pummel). It's an awesome sport! The bouts are always a blast. If you live in northern Jersey, you should check it out sometime. Unfortunately, the only roller rink left in the area that they can skate at is in Newark. Ugh; Newark.
- Smuikas, on 12/19/2008, -0/+1Who says she controls me?
I'm my own man, she's her own woman. - WesSabi, on 12/19/2008, -0/+1As an ex-referee for the #2 league in the nation I have to say Go Windy City Rollers!
- KillerKarma22, on 01/28/2009, -0/+0East Penn Roller Girls
CRUSHBUNNIES!!!!!! - canolde, on 12/19/2008, -1/+1The wearing of clothes seems totally unnecessary for this fine sport.
- inactive, on 12/19/2008, -1/+0quit letting your woman control you.
- Smuikas, on 12/19/2008, -2/+1The envisioning of modern derby is sort of different from what it was two decades ago. Two decades ago, it was more like WWF wrestling - but with girls on skates. Set up, scripted, and all to make the ratings climb. Today, it's about women taking control of a sport that used to be controlled by the black suits. Today, it's about empowerment - taking something back that was taken from them. The rise of rollerderby is symbolic, a testament to individuality and sticking it to the man.
Punk rock is to hair metal as rollerderby is to women's tennis. - inactive, on 12/19/2008, -3/+1My girl skates on the Tragic City Rollers. She comes home banged up all the time. Falling on hard floors and getting smashed by 300lb hampires will mess anyone up!
