- ssquared22, on 02/19/2009, -0/+40I thought he seemed far too natural in his part.
- CarStan, on 02/20/2009, -1/+34Related news: Actor Kirk Lazarus who played Neil Armstrong in Moonshot was found in an alley in Burbank trying to re-enter the earth's atmosphere in an old refrigerator box.
- cartmam114, on 02/20/2009, -0/+31He was to good for the part... Which raises the question is Marisa Tomei going to be spotted in a strip club next?
- Misinformant, on 02/20/2009, -1/+19DUDE I'M JUST IN CHARACTER
- getbusyliving, on 02/20/2009, -0/+17We can only hope. She is an unbelievably attractive woman.
- 1forallallfor1, on 02/20/2009, -3/+16Why the ***** are steroids a federal offense? If people want to get bigger and stronger, let them. Yes, steroids may have negative side effects, but what right does government have to incarcerate people for taking or selling them? I don't take steroids, but this makes the internet libertarian in me weep.
It definitely should be illegal to sell steroids to children, but if adults want to take them... what the ***** does it matter?
And by the way, doesn't congress have more important things to do than see if baseball players are juicing? - jjones20, on 02/20/2009, -0/+12fingers crossed!
- Supernova36, on 02/20/2009, -0/+12Dugg for "raging beefcake"
- inactive, on 02/20/2009, -0/+9How is that a step down from Marilyn Manson?
- timschuit, on 02/20/2009, -10/+19Banning steroids is just as stupid as banning Marijuana. Sure, I can understand "banning" them from sports (ie, banning steroid-using player from participating)....but sending people to court/jail for using drugs that won't hurt you if you use them properly? ***** stupid humans.
- getbusyliving, on 02/20/2009, -0/+9That dude has some massive guns.
- Scape89, on 02/20/2009, -2/+10At first glance I thought this was an Onion story.
- inactive, on 02/20/2009, -1/+8My understanding is that Benoit was messed up from multiple concussions and that was a larger factor in him going nuts. Eddie was also addicted to painkillers and alcohol. Although I'm sure that adding steroids to the mix didn't help, but it was likely not the primary cause. The media just likes to paint it that way.
- specialK16, on 02/20/2009, -0/+7Noooo.
- thinboyslim, on 02/20/2009, -0/+7More worryingly is Evan Rachel Wood gonna start munching rug?
- skeen07, on 02/20/2009, -0/+6You couldn't ask for better casting.
- jason210, on 02/20/2009, -0/+6or is it typecast?
- gdo01, on 02/20/2009, -0/+6No it isn't. If he had been an anti-steroid spokesman in the movie, then it would be irony.
- dafragsta, on 02/20/2009, -0/+4There are very few women that far into their 40s that are that amazingly hot.
- skyshock1, on 02/20/2009, -0/+4Paul E. Normous who played a wrestler in the movie is already dead.
http://ballhype.com/story/pro_wrestler_paul_e_norm ...
It's amazing how cursed the sport of pro-wrestling is with dead former wrestlers. Check it out - http://www.geocities.com/deadwrestlers1/ - mobislink, on 02/19/2009, -2/+5That dud is scary looking.
- boozinf, on 02/20/2009, -0/+3Please, can't somebody THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!!
- ookamiwarrior, on 02/20/2009, -0/+3too*
- inactive, on 02/20/2009, -0/+3Because whether or not you personally agree is steroid use does not negate the fact that the government shouldn't be involved in what a private citizen does to his or her own body as long as it doesn't negatively impact other people, which steroids don't.
- Namco, on 02/20/2009, -0/+3Enraged for "beefcake digging"
- arizona01, on 02/20/2009, -0/+3Its not irony. Sorry.
- GlassUnion, on 02/20/2009, -2/+5So? Alcohol is a drug. It's adictive and causes redicuously high amounts of damage to people. Why doesn't your country try banning it like steroids and a lot of other drugs?
Oh wait... - RumpleForeskin3, on 02/20/2009, -0/+2It's like a palindrome
- MouserUK, on 02/20/2009, -1/+3The proposed harm is mainly media hype, along the same lines as reefer madness. They were made illegal for political reasons. Gross abuse as seen with pro bodybuilders will lead to serious long term side effects, but mundane to middling doses of testosterone will have little to no serious side effects - part of the whole principle behind testosterone replacement therapy, the male equivalent of HRT in women.
FYI:
The American Medical Association (AMA), Drug Enforcement Administration(DEA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as well as the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) all opposed listing anabolic steroids as controlled substances, citing the fact that use of these hormones does not lead to the physical or psychological dependence required for such scheduling under the Controlled Substance Act - wedges, on 02/20/2009, -0/+2i'm confused... aren't steroids obtainable from doctors and personal trainers and stuff?
- jwanderson, on 02/20/2009, -0/+2Maybe it's not the purest form of irony, but it's funny in an ironical way.
I mean, you wouldn't exactly expect Daniel Day Lewis to be arrested for murdering someone with a bowling pin would you? - ookamiwarrior, on 02/20/2009, -0/+2Damn fine movie too. What a fool.
- lordwow, on 02/20/2009, -0/+2This poor guy is gonna keep getting typecast in these roles.
- ryberg31, on 02/20/2009, -0/+2"It's amazing how cursed the sport of pro-wrestling is with dead former wrestlers."
how is it cursed? those guys abused their bodies with drugs and steroids.....it's not brain surgery to figure out why they "suddenly" died - jscozzari, on 02/20/2009, -0/+2ya the roids makes their meat tough, and that's not good eatin
- leif77, on 02/20/2009, -0/+2Cursed? It's not exactly a curse to fall into a black hole of steroids and drug abuse. That's like saying there was a curse for rock stars in the seventies and eighties... It was just drugs and alcohol.
Edit: and it looks like Mike Awesome had it coming anyway. And some of those guys were in their 60's... that's hardly cursed... - DteK, on 02/20/2009, -0/+2Anabolic steroids are illegal without a prescription in the US, sort of like vicodin and percocet. Anabolic steroids are a schedule III controlled substances here in the US. However in mexico you can buy them over the counter.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anabolic_steroid - J0hnnyBlaze, on 02/20/2009, -0/+1i don't think either of them will be doing any disagreeing any time soon.
- mikebb79, on 02/20/2009, -0/+1That's some depressing *****. That actually reminded me about how sad the Von Erich family story is. Pretty tragic.
- PorkFat, on 02/20/2009, -0/+1Beefcaked for "enraged digging"
- skyshock1, on 02/21/2009, -0/+1Owen hart? Brian pillman? Chris Benoit?
- pharmokan, on 02/20/2009, -0/+1hahahaha so true.
- wedges, on 02/20/2009, -0/+1ah. but there are kinds you can get in the US that just aren't as good?
- inactive, on 02/20/2009, -0/+1It's not so much a curse as it is a direct result of steroid use and the great physical toll the sport does on the body.
- jaybehm, on 02/20/2009, -1/+2Life imitating art imitating life
- Soniti, on 02/21/2009, -0/+1Watch "Better, stronger, faster"- You'll see things differently. Benoit was off his ***** rocker long before he killed his family.
- bot001220, on 02/20/2009, -0/+1@thedscak
Nah, just a guy who was in a recent movie who was obviously on steriods that the cops wanted to make an example of. - leif77, on 02/21/2009, -0/+1Okay Owen Hart was someone not doing their job right... don't know who the other two guys were... the job is an accident prone job... that's like saying football or F1 racing is cursed... it's dangerous...
- Kunjunker, on 02/21/2009, -0/+1sure why not sell meth to adults too??
