- purkel, on 10/15/2009, -0/+40pretty ***** scary if you ask me.
- thenorwegian, on 10/15/2009, -3/+40hey guy, you don't have to scream like that
- therealrico, on 10/15/2009, -0/+19It can be done without going 100 feet in the air

Well actually that isn't true but these guys look like they know what they are doing - mtnn, on 10/15/2009, -0/+16Love how the friend starts cheering before he knew if his buddy was alive or dead, he just knew he had witnessed something awesome!
- jwanderson, on 10/15/2009, -1/+17Yeah, except for the whole faceplanting at 40 miles an hour part.
- jwanderson, on 10/15/2009, -2/+17And I didn't see it then.
So, in short, it's OK to resubmit things on the internet. - SooperSonic, on 10/15/2009, -2/+14Wait, they have snowkiteing in Algeria?
Wait again, they have SNOW in Algeria? - jsmithers, on 10/15/2009, -0/+11EVER HEARD of a quick release? Standard issue and using one should be a standard fast reaction in kitesurfing and windsurfing.
This is exactly the situation you have quick releases for... - VectorJ, on 10/15/2009, -0/+9::cool:: atleast he made it off the ground... unlike ballon kid--- what a let down.
- Schmich, on 10/15/2009, -0/+9Hence it was perfect timing for a resubmission.
- ryanonfire, on 10/15/2009, -0/+9That's what she said!
- tkcom, on 10/15/2009, -0/+7Serious air is serious.
- Sheco, on 10/15/2009, -0/+7I agree, jwanderson
by the way check this cool link I found. :D
http://digg.com/d317GYC - lazycat, on 10/15/2009, -1/+8Apparently, there are some snow in the mountains. And yes, they do have mountains.
- ChaosProfessor, on 10/15/2009, -9/+15i submitted this like a year ago
infact almost exactly a year ago
http://digg.com/comedy/Parachute_Snowboarder_Gets_ ... - snafflepaffle, on 10/15/2009, -0/+6Practical definition of a bad idea. Who could have predicted that a big gust would come up in the middle of winter in the mountains?
- ChaosProfessor, on 10/15/2009, -0/+5except he was attached also
- bewareofthecow, on 10/15/2009, -0/+5WHEEEEEWWW!!!!
- uclaith, on 10/15/2009, -5/+10anyone who says that looks like a bad idea is a sissy
- Klaky, on 10/15/2009, -0/+4Yeah, in that order. First "*****"ting yourself, then a "ton of fun"
- calebian, on 10/15/2009, -1/+5I wonder what he was thinking, "Oh *****, now I really can't let go"
- Schmich, on 10/15/2009, -0/+4Shame they put music on that video, hearing the sound of the air would have been better.
- ColinsvilleMD, on 10/16/2009, -0/+4His name was Falcon
- jwanderson, on 10/15/2009, -0/+3Glad you made this comment already because that's exactly what I was going to say.
How can you be so stupid to strap yourself to a huge kite and NOT have a quick release for when you get pulled above ~10 feet. - Xaevier, on 10/15/2009, -0/+3O_o
- arizona01, on 10/16/2009, -0/+3They used it more as a parachute than a kite.
- inactive, on 10/16/2009, -0/+3And he boarded away from that. Respect.
- eatsushi, on 10/16/2009, -0/+3I really thought he was gonna keep going up and disappear somewhere
- seanflyon, on 10/16/2009, -0/+3Those kites are supposed to have ripcords so that you can avoid exactly what happened in the video.
- GeyserShitdick, on 10/16/2009, -0/+3http://www.youtube.com/comment_servlet?all_comment ...
From AllPurposeNerd, 7 hours ago: "I lol'd pretty hard. "I was going to go snowkiting today, but instead I went hanggliding!""
It takes a special kind of person to plagiarize youtube comments. - Seraph321, on 10/16/2009, -0/+2Thank you for that link. Easily the highlight of my week.
- xero69, on 10/16/2009, -0/+2In Algeria, kite surfs YOU!
- DheiF, on 10/15/2009, -2/+4OH PUTAIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN !
SA MÈÈÈÈÈÈÈEÈÈÈRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRE !!! - DChapgier, on 10/16/2009, -0/+2OH PUTAIN!
- mmx2000, on 10/16/2009, -0/+2except letting go might have ***** his ***** up
- tza999, on 10/19/2009, -0/+1That's what I thought when I first saw it. Either way, ***** hilarious. If I was dude I would ***** bricks.
- RazarX, on 10/20/2009, -0/+1Actually, it's a great idea.
Bad execution. - frequentFlyer, on 10/26/2009, -0/+1...and he wasn't really on the snowboard.
- sagradia, on 10/16/2009, -0/+1That was TRULY scary. And real.
Unlike the 'balloon boy' hoax. - SPRFRKR, on 10/16/2009, -0/+1Most kites cannot be completely cut from a person easily (or at least quickly). If they did have a full quick release, the kite would be blown far far away from you. You can "punch out" and just have a single line attached to the kite (5th line), but you are still attached and it can still be ugly- you just wouldn't have a fully powered kite to deal with.
- frequentFlyer, on 10/26/2009, -0/+1I think my let go height would be 5 ft.
- Elpants, on 10/15/2009, -1/+2Looked like fun.
- GeyserShitdick, on 10/16/2009, -0/+1Now that's just sad.
- happyseamonster, on 10/16/2009, -0/+1But the little boy only went as high as his attic and made world wide news.
- Yage2006, on 10/16/2009, -0/+1What exactly makes that a bad idea it looked like pure win to me :)
I'd maybe wear some knee pads or something though hehe. - ThePerchik, on 10/16/2009, -0/+1Check out this video of Chasta, the best snow kiter in the world... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oumI83xK7kE
- Aspaztic, on 10/16/2009, -0/+1GREAT video!
I've always wanted to do this! I want to try it out in the Swiss Alps and/or near the Columbia Icefield. Simply awe-inspiring. - SPRFRKR, on 10/16/2009, -0/+1Sounds like a muppet at 1:20!
