- DevinWatson, on 05/03/2009, -0/+11I'm guessing you've never stood on the summit of a mountain...
- davidw00t, on 05/04/2009, -1/+10Everyone dies, but not everyone truly lives.
- bkraj, on 05/04/2009, -0/+8I know, ***** doing anything challenging or remotely dangerous at all. Going to the moon? Why the ***** would we do that? That ***** is extremely dangerous and what does it give us. All astronauts are just trying for darwin awards obviously.
Exploring the depths of the ocean? Why? We can't live down there, what is that ***** for even?
Why hike? Why do anything at all that isn't to procure more food and to live long, these people obviously don't understand life as well as ZhiZaki. - rheaume, on 05/04/2009, -0/+6So if you drowned during the water rafting trips, you would be thrilled to have your mother read comments such as the one you made? Pathetic troll.
- amogatitos, on 05/04/2009, -1/+5How exactly would it have been more tragic if they were Colombian soccer players? Also, I missed the part in the article where it said they were "a bunch of dudes trying to prove their machismo to themselves."
- SawButter, on 05/04/2009, -1/+5***** happens.
I wish i can die while doing something i really enjoy. - Janinco, on 05/03/2009, -1/+5Terrible news!
- O8SERVER, on 05/04/2009, -0/+3Is it just me or does Digg have more bad news than usual?
- Oea420, on 05/04/2009, -1/+3Heart goes out to their families...
I want to start mountaineer so much... I don't know why just out of nowhere I've had the strongest desire to just reach some summits.... It seems like such an amazing and rewarding sport, although dangerous at times. - inactive, on 05/04/2009, -1/+3So sad. My prayers and thoughts are with the families and friends of those poor people.
- rheaume, on 05/04/2009, -2/+3Live on the edge, die on the edge.
- Khast, on 05/04/2009, -2/+3I guess they didn't know how to yodel properly.
- JeffLongoria, on 05/04/2009, -0/+1a mexican and a black guy drive off a cliff and dies... "insert rest of joke here"
yeah theres a lot of jokes that start off with death. don't sweat it. - SolidBones, on 05/04/2009, -0/+1Not to be insensitive, but I read the title like the beginning to a joke.
Then I realized it was real and that I'm a bad person. - shujin, on 05/04/2009, -1/+2sucks
- findsloger, on 05/04/2009, -1/+1yes, Terrible news.
- GeorgeWKush, on 05/04/2009, -2/+2Buried for saying "another successful Darwinian moment."
- jordanlgta, on 05/04/2009, -2/+2I'm not trying to be crude/rude/mean, but...
Why is this considered newsworthy enough to land on the front page of digg.com, but when a whole family dies in a house fire it just stays on the local news? These mountain climbers knew the great risk of what they were doing. The people sleeping in the house were more innocent because they weren't taking place in anything particularly dangerous. - inactive, on 05/04/2009, -1/+1So sad. My prayers and thoughts are with the families and friends of those poor Alps.
- steinarao, on 05/03/2009, -5/+0I don“t know if I should use the digg as thumps up for this article. But I digg you.
- ZhiZaki, on 05/03/2009, -7/+1I've been skiing and whitewater rafting in the Austrian Alps. Picturesque? Yes..... A need to during the spring thaw? Not so much.
- ZhiZaki, on 05/03/2009, -11/+4I have never understood why people climb death trap littered mountains in a quest for personal pride. If these guys would have been a Columbian soccer team, then it would have been really tragic. Since it's a bunch of dudes trying to prove their machismo to themselves, then I chalk this up to another successful Darwinian moment.

What is Digg?
