- brettsmaname, on 08/26/2008, -0/+19this is 2 year old news...
- castletech, on 08/26/2008, -1/+15I bet it still gets better mileage than a h2.
- brstilson, on 08/26/2008, -1/+10And he did it towing a boat, too!
- santaliqueur, on 08/26/2008, -2/+10You're the type of ***** who would desire whatever the article wasn't about. If it was about fuel efficiency, you'd say "***** that, how fast can it go?"
- EarlOfLade, on 08/26/2008, -1/+9He runs on diesel? Wow!
- nwdbbnr, on 08/26/2008, -3/+9All Bolt needs is a little comcast speed boost right... It only lasts for a second then cuts down to a halt though lol
- reddevild, on 08/26/2008, -1/+6Michael Phelps is faster
- theremixtrack, on 08/26/2008, -0/+4what are you, gay?
- mstachiw, on 08/26/2008, -0/+3not to be outdone by Vin Diesel's top landspeed of 427 MPH
- feross, on 08/26/2008, -0/+2http://www.jcbdieselmax.com
They broke that record the next day. JCB Diesel Homepage with videos of record-braking run. New Record is 350mph. - cwmather, on 08/26/2008, -1/+3Slow down muthalicka!!!!!
- drhead, on 08/26/2008, -0/+2But but... British people hate diesel.
- napsack, on 08/26/2008, -0/+2The best part is that he runs on water.
- 32bitwonder, on 08/26/2008, -0/+2Dugg up for the Corrie reference.
- arensquared, on 08/28/2008, -0/+1Whoa! That was fast!
- rdoger6424, on 08/26/2008, -0/+1and then his race gets a reset signal
- gareth805, on 08/26/2008, -0/+1Some video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y80HKtAleqE - 2oonhed, on 08/26/2008, -0/+1Great blurb, from 2 years ago! The 2008 event not even occurred yet.
Here is this years schedule : http://www.saltflats.com/2008schedule.htm - maeon3, on 08/26/2008, -0/+1I'm waiting for someone to break the world record of sticking 15 pieces of bubble gum to their face, hopping on one foot and singing the "I'm just me" song.
You can't just do something unusual that nobody has done before and call it a "world record". - abid8740, on 08/26/2008, -3/+4328 miles = 527.86 kilometers
- iwin2000, on 08/26/2008, -0/+1*article
- rdoger6424, on 08/26/2008, -0/+1Sour diesel at that.
- kyle212, on 08/26/2008, -1/+2racing across the Bonneville Salt Flats at more than 325 mph.
I dont get why writers put more then 325, why not just put the exact number? Especially if it is a whole number - WeaponAlpha, on 08/26/2008, -1/+2Damn totally spoiled this artical for me:
http://digg.com/motorsport/JCB_Dieselmax_team_will ... - pleaseremove, on 08/26/2008, -0/+1http://www.jcbdieselmax.com/html/home.php
Old story, but the site has some nice stuff, it always used to have a video from inside when he did it, don't know if that's still there. - Jeffler, on 08/26/2008, -1/+2Why the ***** is a two year old story about an interesting but not mind blowing record on the front page of digg, claiming it is "new"?
- santaliqueur, on 08/26/2008, -2/+2Yeah I know, most Digg submissions are older.
- sprotacular, on 08/26/2008, -6/+6Even more remarkable is the fact that he did it while watching Coronation Street.
- asw71192, on 08/26/2008, -1/+1why is this just being posted on digg. it happened liek 2 years ago. you can even check the date on the article
- borez, on 08/26/2008, -1/+1Breaking news...not
- SoIcanDigg, on 08/26/2008, -3/+3TDI FTW.
- SHuisman, on 08/26/2008, -2/+2News from 2006 is a bit sad...
- iwin2000, on 08/26/2008, -1/+1*clap* *clap* *clap* Nicely done!
- IpwnZnoobs, on 08/26/2008, -1/+1He beat the old record by 90 mph, that's nucking futs
- Hrodrik, on 08/26/2008, -2/+2This is a pertinent question. Diesel was a good alternative 10 years ago. Now it sucks almost as much as gasoline.
Electric speed/distance record. That's what we need. - inactive, on 08/26/2008, -2/+1This ain't that impressive. Now if he did it using an alternative fuel...
http://www.digitalfuntown.com/videos/87 - gkiltz, on 08/27/2008, -1/+0Old news! Reality check:
The TYPE of petroleum fuel is not that critical to speed!
Most jet fuel used in the world today is actually a type of KEROSENE!
Kerosene is one of the BYPRODUCTS of gasoline refining! If it was not used as a fuel, it would have to be disposed of!
Diesel, and Kerosene both can be made more efficiently, however from the heavier crude such as the Alaskan and Bunker Sea crude, and less efficiently from the lighter crude like the Saudi crude that is more efficient for gasoline! - failedpimp, on 08/26/2008, -2/+1I didn't know that Kevin Nash could run so fast... or was this the fake Diesel
- shutaro, on 08/26/2008, -4/+2Heh heh heh... Bonerville...
- WhoDoneIt, on 08/26/2008, -2/+0You see, the ONLY reason these cars can go so fast is because they are on the salt flats, which give the vehicles and drivers high-blood pressure.
- justsayshmur, on 08/26/2008, -6/+1all this talk of gas prices made me read it as "328mpg".
if only.
"328 miles = 527.86 kilometers"
^ or 285.024207 knots - thephysicist, on 08/26/2008, -5/+0BRITAIN ***** Yeah!
- dyreschlock, on 08/26/2008, -6/+12 Fast 2 Furious, Vin Diesel all the way!
- inactive, on 08/26/2008, -8/+1Hurray?
- MxM111, on 08/26/2008, -10/+3I would be more impressed with 328 mpg, not mph.
- oinyo, on 08/26/2008, -9/+1Pretty awesome. I would live to see a game with cars liek these in them come out. "desert racing" Or something like that.
