- anizzle, on 06/04/2008, -2/+187Michael Johnson doesn't take steroids. If he did, his body would immediately reject it for being less performance enhancing than his own blood.
- inactive, on 06/03/2008, -0/+159that sucks for johnson to find out that his partner was doped up. it must be hard to have put so much work into winning only to find out that the guy who helped you win cheated. my respect goes to him though for doing the honorable thing and giving back the medal.
- jordansampson, on 06/04/2008, -0/+118Nice to see a sense of sportsmanship still alive today
- Mootabolife, on 06/04/2008, -1/+95If this were the movies, someone would start a slow clap and he'd get the medal back while tears began to form in Dakota Fanning's eyes.
- rabidg00se, on 06/04/2008, -0/+72That's really classy. But then again, Johnson's always been a pretty classy guy.
- mbauer14, on 06/04/2008, -2/+47michael johnson doesn't win races. races win michael johnson.
- KayIslandDrunk, on 06/04/2008, -1/+31Oh no.... is this the start of the new "Chuck Norris"
- mparker7410, on 06/04/2008, -0/+27Honestly, he has enough medals ...keeping a tainted one like this really just detracts from all his other accomplishments.
- hhswatkins, on 06/04/2008, -1/+24That may be a kind act.....but he's no Jamaican bobsled team
- MarkCiccone, on 06/04/2008, -1/+21Michael Johnson is so fast, he can run around the world and punch himself in the back of the head.
- mbauer14, on 06/04/2008, -0/+17For reasons like this, Michael Johnson has been and remains my favorite sprinter of all time.
Stories like this do taint a person's career and cast doubt in the minds of many, however. - inactive, on 06/04/2008, -0/+17That sucks. But at least they both ended the deal with integrity about what happened...
And definitely moreso commendable on Michael Johnson's part - inactive, on 06/04/2008, -0/+13it should be...the man could run 43km/h....
- anbudom, on 06/04/2008, -0/+13Michael Johnson is the most genuine athlete out there, unfair.
- raysaagar, on 06/04/2008, -0/+12and another Pettigrew betrays his friends... what has the world come to!
- krahzee, on 06/04/2008, -1/+11This is what really sucks about these team events. 3 out of 4 of the people could be honest and clean, but one teammate takes a medal away from them because they cheated.
- kss42, on 06/04/2008, -1/+11Superman once challenged Michael Johnson to a race around the world. Turns out, kryptonite's not the only thing that can defeat Superman.
Then the Flash challenged Michael Johnson to a race around the world. Michael Johnson said, "Wanna go again?"
In 1905, Albert Einstein published a well-known paper claiming that nothing can exceed the speed of light. Less well-known is the footnote: "Except Michael Johnson." - 8ight, on 06/04/2008, -0/+9Classy
- yohnstoppable, on 06/04/2008, -0/+9Micheal Johnson runs so fast, he once broke 88 mph at a relay, and finished in first place with a time of "yesterday"
- ChemiosMurphy, on 06/04/2008, -0/+9Integrity at its finest
- KaJuN4, on 06/04/2008, -0/+8Yeah Michael Jordan really sucked at baseball.
- jasmus, on 06/04/2008, -0/+8Does this mean the team that came 4th are now bronze medalists? Imagine getting that call. "Congratulations, you've won bronze!.... 8 years ago!"
- inactive, on 06/04/2008, -1/+9You're not worthy, fatass.
- NewSc2, on 06/04/2008, -0/+8Michael Johnson looks like Eddie Murphy and Chauncey Billups.
- coolian, on 06/04/2008, -0/+7It's hard to come by such a noble sportsman. I wish this guy was still running.
- Aerandir, on 06/04/2008, -1/+8I just hope that MJ is not involved in the steroid Scandal as well, he is a legend and his name is in the top of the mountain along with the other MJ (NBA), Carl Lewis, Joe Montana, and other all-american sports heroes.
- Lazydriver, on 06/04/2008, -2/+9I'm a dumbass and thought it said "Michael Jackson".
- sockpuppets, on 06/04/2008, -0/+7Your mom uses roids. When she needs to wash the dishes she just stares them down until they're clean from her stink eye.
- ry4nsm1th, on 06/04/2008, -0/+6You think he did? You don't have any good reason for that. I dislike the new unwritten policy of "guilty until proven otherwise."
- crhawk, on 06/04/2008, -0/+51996 defined him as a runner, not 2000. Great move returning the medal, and the world will only respect him more for doing so.
- gmiley, on 06/04/2008, -0/+4Yeah, it was pretty noble of him to return the medal. His partner is a douchebag. By doing that he not only let Johnson down, but as a representative of the U.S., our country as well. It's sad how he talks about the change in his perception of the sport and other athletes, but at least he seems determined to try to help others to "just say no", so to say, and win on their own strength.
- Cannon49, on 06/04/2008, -0/+4Great sportsmanship by MJ. Major props.
- FattyRooster, on 06/04/2008, -0/+42 good MJ's and 1 really bad MJ
- jasdf, on 06/04/2008, -1/+5Michael Johnson is one of my heroes! It is really a shame to see this happen to him. I'm sure that since his professional running days are over he has realized that there are things more important in life than metals, the stories will live on.
- Brad324, on 06/04/2008, -0/+3DARK SIDED! THIS MEDAL IS DARK SIDED!
- Greengoo, on 06/04/2008, -0/+3You stay classy, Michael Johnson.
- KaJuN4, on 06/04/2008, -0/+3ICE?? Like Eskimos and snowmen and penguins and...ICE??
- aflaks, on 06/04/2008, -0/+3is he the one that ran with the golden shoes?
- aigulf, on 06/04/2008, -0/+3Quit linking your photos in every comment, and I might actually read one.
- ats314, on 06/04/2008, -0/+3Michael Johnson - arguably the greatest runner of all time.
Michael Jordan - arguably the greatest basketball player of all time.
Michael Jackson - arguably the greatest pop star of all time.
Coincidence?
yes...probably - inactive, on 06/04/2008, -0/+3Honestly he is the only sprinter I can name... But hes a good'n I guess.
- jasdf, on 06/04/2008, -0/+3Best of the best, on numerous levels.
- ace429k, on 06/04/2008, -0/+2leaves grow on trees.
- Seth024, on 06/04/2008, -0/+2A world record would probably be taken away automatically by the IAAF. (see Justin Gatlin...)
- ry4nsm1th, on 06/04/2008, -0/+2Well they took the medals from the team that Marion Jones was on after she came clean about steroids, so I think MJ was just saving the Olympic committee some time and giving his up
- Downwritemad, on 06/04/2008, -0/+2What a dirty rat.
- latinjones, on 06/04/2008, -1/+3That was gold!
