Drogba was embarrasing for Chelsea, though, and he deserved his red card for losing his cool and lashing out. Every time the ball crossed a line that wasn't immediately behind van der Sar he was up in arms claiming it was a Chelsea ball. On his arse every fifteen minutes. Malouda and Makelele weren't much better either, and Carvalho was up to his old tricks again, though not nearly as bad as the time they beat Barcelona through Carvalho rugby tackling the goalkeeper while Terry netted the winning header.
United had their fair share of moments when the red mist descended, and it was interesting to see that it was always players who haven't been at United a long time who were losing it. When the Premiership was all about the battle between United and Arsenal, it was disgusting to see both teams getting up in the referee's face about things, during their big matches together, and United's players had to mature really well to take that out of their game, as Ferguson wouldn't stand for it. Some of Chelsea's players, Drogba and Malouda in particular, show their immaturity often, and it's pleasing to see Ronaldo, who was always the one who Chelsea fans liked to bring up when Drogba's diving entered the conversation, has matured well beyond his old knack for conning the referee.
All up, a good game. Frustrating, but a good game and a fitting end to a great season. It's been close. I only hope it's as competitive next year. Chelsea really keep us on our feet.
