Those posts down the side of the road looked pretty solid and you wouldn't want to go head first into one of them. And there doesn't appear to be any way to stop in a hurry so you better hope you don't suddenly come across a breakdown or something or your ankles will be in your armpits.

- RichG13, on 09/03/2008, -0/+4When I was into mountain biking regularly I was usually the first one to the bottom of a hill, even without anyone pedaling. I was probably 240 to 255lbs. back then; my friends averaged in the range of 140 to 160lbs.
I always wondered why. We pretty much all had the same tires so friction from the road was relatively equal. All high-end hubs, too.
