- magiclava, on 10/12/2007, -0/+54Love the way a microphone is shoved in the face of one of the players:
Reporter: So how you you feel?
Player: Like i've been hit by a ***** bolt of lightning, idiot. - Casedot, on 10/12/2007, -4/+30Not surprised all the players hit the ground so fast, it's soccer.
the ref took it like a man... - UGM2099, on 10/12/2007, -1/+25This happened to a group of girls soccer players at my high school about 9 years ago. One girl was permanently brain damaged because of it.. very sad. The rest of the girls fell the grass just like on this video.
- jaredseth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Ystig was just being funny, Troopy. You might want to lay off the caffeine.
- SIRBERUS, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6In high school, I played Water Polo... the rule, during rain, was to play until someone saw lightning. I always hoped I wouldn't be the one to see it as it zapped the pool.
- nreynolds, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5LOOK OUT. LIGHTBULBS!!!
- henri, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Translation of what the newscaster is saying:
It was 12 minutes before the end of the premier league game, when lightning struck the field with a loud noise. Six of the players immediately collapsed. The referee, here seen in the top right corner, was also hit. What followed were chaotic scenes. Because not a single paramedic was present in the stadium, the victims rolled around on the grass for several minutes. Reporters attempt to interview the totally "down for the count" players. Teammates attended to the injured. Some were only in shock, two others, however, had acute heart[problems].
The audio cuts out in the end, but I'm pretty sure that he meant to say "heart problems." - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Several people have made the error, so I guess I'll correct you.
It's lightNing not lighting - mapkinase, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4The man with the ball also did not fall off. The fall only without ball.
- ellemeno, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4holy hell
- azzwipe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The very same thing happened to a friend of mine about 10 years ago. The soccer coach died, but luckily my friend survived. He did get injured in his ear and lost some of his hearing though and he said that when the lighting struck, it felt like minutes. I still remember almost being in tears one time later on when we played soccer in school and somebody kicked the ball, which then hit him directly on the ear. He cried and I felt so bad for him.
- KevinAce, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Did you see that dive ref? Card the man.
- Ystig, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7Some people say you shouldn't pray to a higher power for your team to win, because in this sort of case, god simply doesn't take sides. I say you shouldn't pray to a higher power for your team to win, because all the major gods are far too big on smiting as it is, without further encouragement. The last thing they need is more excuses.
- ProximaC, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3God hates soccer. Seems pretty plain to me.
- bloqmon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"may God strike me down were it to be otherwise."
- Depthfunction, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Clearly, God was rooting against the red team.
- FlapJaw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow, 30 seconds of some German gibberish and I don't even see the lightning.
- djepik, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I think they were just trying to draw yellow cards. lol
- Tempest811, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1In other news, mages have been banned from attending soccer matches especially when wearing rings that increase their chain lightning skills.
- bergur1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1There is a reason why most of the time they stop the game before something like this happens.
- bcardarella, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1They should bring out the magic spray, that seemed to fix every single soccor player at the World Cup
- skidude28, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Umm wow, I guess it would have been more understandable if I could understand them lol.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Yeah, if your pacifist dad died from cancer, praying before a boxing match doesn't seem to make much sense.
- RuskiBanger, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0Yes they did hear of such a thing but never understood what it was used for ;)
- adamc80, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1/agree
- EzarKun, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1they tought it was a sort of Dildo
- mapkinase, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1getting hit by a lighting in the city is ridiculous. Haven't they heard of a lightning rod?
- theMurdocVolta, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2I was hoping to see a more dramatic lighting Strike then just a flash, but still, wow.
- Troopy, on 10/12/2007, -21/+4Don't just assume everyone believes in god man..
