- anderzole, on 03/12/2009, -0/+37Talk about ruining an already tarnished legacy.
- JigoroKano, on 03/12/2009, -0/+30First Royce and now Ken. For shame.
"Every guy who uses steroids to fight is a ***** pussy." -- Bas Rutten, the untarnished legend - AddiX, on 03/12/2009, -3/+28Except that it is obvious that Shamrock has been juicing his whole career and was never penalized before. Fighters dont get tested till the day of the fight. Everyone in mma knows that you can cycle off before the fight and you will come up clear. They dont even test every fighter, they randomly test a few. While they are training, they are free to juice up all they want. Get your facts straight, the guys who get caught, are just morons.
I have plenty of friends who compete in MMA and they all same the same thing. When your in that culture, almost everyone is juicing because its so easy to get away with. - shinda, on 03/12/2009, -4/+26wtf you talking about?? MMA Fighaters who juice are suspended, and heavily penalized. Theres no hiding it, the commissions are constantly vigilant against such things and mma fighters who juice get no love from the fans neither.
- agentsrecord, on 03/12/2009, -0/+12He should have been learning how to throw a punch better instead.
- Swarms, on 03/13/2009, -1/+13Suspended from what? He's 90 years old.
- gr33k, on 03/12/2009, -0/+11"There's something you don't know about me, Joe Rogan. I smoke rocks"
- JigoroKano, on 03/12/2009, -0/+10against Sakuraba in K1-USA.
Before the fight, Josh Gross (currently at Sports Illustrated) commented that Royce looked to be in the best shape of his life. - teknomaker18, on 03/12/2009, -1/+10At least it's not over pot.
- ChrisInCali, on 03/13/2009, -0/+6He also tested positive for chicken and steak.
- Xspire, on 03/13/2009, -0/+6Okay, I'll play along and pretend to be shocked.
- NotAChickenHawk, on 03/13/2009, -2/+7Steroids in the UFC? I'm shocked. Just shocked. Is nothing sacred? Next they'll tell us baseball players use them, and god forbid the holy of holies, football....
- inactive, on 03/13/2009, -2/+7Pff that's nothing, I replied 3 wrong person
- yanksn6, on 03/12/2009, -2/+7Is this really a surprise to you all?
- praisethelard, on 03/13/2009, -0/+4On a related note, he was hilarious in GTA IV.
- dirtyhipster, on 03/13/2009, -2/+6Retard and commenter. Breaking news. More at 11:00.
- Tubal22, on 03/13/2009, -1/+5Oh really? Whoda thunk?
- LordRedSnake, on 03/13/2009, -0/+3It's not important. It's like Mark McGwire saying he was using Andro. He wasn't using andro at all because it's ***** and doesn't work. He just used it as an innocent alternative to admitting he was juicing.
Prohormones that convert to nandrolone or stanozolol were banned years ago, so there isn't a legal product that turns converts to those substances. It's also highly unlikely that there's a company out there that's covertly slipping these compounds into their product because they would be caught in a heartbeat due to all the kids getting sore nipples and shrunken balls. - styx31989, on 03/13/2009, -0/+3are we talking about Royce Gracie? *****....
- jecsupastar, on 03/13/2009, -2/+5Who Cares?
- LordRedSnake, on 03/13/2009, -0/+3Oh come on, there is hiding it. It is easy to be juiced to the gills for months and then test negative if you take a few precautions. The IOC is super vigilant too, but there are plenty of Olympic athletes who use AAS and don't get caught.
- dirtyhipster, on 03/13/2009, -1/+4Same with every sport really. When your a pro-athlete and you make your living off performing your best, your going to do steroids and learn how to cycle them between games/matches/fights. Doesn't matter what sport your in theres always going to be some that do it.
- mc88, on 03/13/2009, -1/+4In other news, the sky is blue and water is wet.
- inactive, on 03/13/2009, -0/+3Well I wouldn't exactly call it "fighting".
- inactive, on 03/13/2009, -3/+6Bad news, all pro athletes juice.
- dinuguan, on 03/13/2009, -0/+3way to avoid fighting your adopted brother and tank abbot. I WANT TO SEE WASH-UPS FIGHT!!
- ionelementz112, on 03/13/2009, -0/+3The internet is only 2 days old?
But yeah, he hasn't had a quality win since... Dan Severn (who is still also still fighting). - anonymousmedic, on 03/13/2009, -0/+2Did anyone NOT guess this?
- Tddupre, on 03/13/2009, -0/+2hes prbly been using them since his days in pro wrestling
- LordRedSnake, on 03/13/2009, -0/+2Some people are not prone to sides. Also many side effects can be mitigated or avoided entirely, except for unseen side effects like cholesterol ratios and liver stress.
- painting, on 03/13/2009, -0/+2so does everyone else.
- LordRedSnake, on 03/13/2009, -1/+3True dat
- momedefome, on 03/13/2009, -0/+2Who gives a *****?? that guy became irrelevant 10 years ago
- JigoroKano, on 03/13/2009, -0/+2This wasn't a UFC fight.
- benenov, on 07/09/2009, -0/+2wwf intercontinental champion - it means nothing now.... :(
- JigoroKano, on 03/13/2009, -0/+2He dropped his opponent with one punch and went in for the submission.
Shamrock's problem is that he has lost his chin and his knees are so bad that he can't wrestle that well any more. - barktwiggs, on 03/13/2009, -0/+2Well, he should obviously stop roiding since they're doing jack squat for him in the ring anyhow...
- zboyet, on 03/13/2009, -0/+2Shamrock has been washed up for years. This guy needs to go away now. Go train people with your camp and enjoy semi retirement. I hope Randy Couture does not follow in this guys footsteps and retires with some dignity.
- cfuse, on 03/13/2009, -2/+4Oh for god's sake - for the last time, every competitive athlete is on roids. It isn't that big a deal in reality, but much like bong-gate it brings every "think of the children!" anti drug nutbag out to join in the *****.
They're adults, get the ***** over it. Or, you could boycott all the sports involving drug users (yeah, I didn't think your moral outrage extended that far). - OPR8R, on 03/12/2009, -1/+3At least baseball players wear uniforms that somewhat hide their bodies. To me, Shamrock even looks 'roidal...
- Swarms, on 03/13/2009, -2/+4I wish digg would implement a "Delete comment" feature months ago.
- maqikelefant, on 03/13/2009, -0/+2There's only so much steroids can do for a 105 year old man...
- goldfyngor, on 03/13/2009, -0/+2You would think that his better judgment would have been an opponent he could actually beat at this point.
- eatinshramps, on 03/13/2009, -2/+4I say screw it..let them all get roid rage and fight for our entertainment.
- jerrycan, on 03/13/2009, -0/+2Unwittingly Fashionable Cauliflowerears
- maqikelefant, on 03/13/2009, -1/+3Yeah right man. Next you'll be telling me professional wrestlers use steroids. You kids today will believe anything...
- maqikelefant, on 03/13/2009, -0/+2Is this really supposed to be a surprise?
- CaptainNoPants, on 03/13/2009, -0/+11.every competitive athlete is on roids
- Proof? You've got proof Derek Jeter and Ben Rothlesberger are juicing?
2.They're adults, get the ***** over it. Or, you could boycott all the sports involving drug users (yeah, I didn't think your moral outrage extended that far).
- Your attitude is what's wrong with sports today. I will not boycott any sport or team I like. I will call for the expulsion of every single person, regardless of sport, that tests positive for steroids. Why don't folks like you just start professional steroid leagues for each sport? Let all the cheaters go some place together away from the guys that want to play their game with integrity and honesty. I think that's a wonderful idea. Major Steroid League Baseball could be a huge hit. Fan appreciation nights where they give away big foam syringes. Video games: MSLB09: The BIG Show - 12Hundred, on 03/13/2009, -0/+1marijuana is still illegal...... could do some damage if get high before a food eating competition
- drwb, on 09/09/2009, -0/+1I'm surprised he's still fighting. As for steroids - just look at Brock before.
