- PitifulLoser, on 10/12/2007, -0/+36This has been translated and airs on G4 under the name Ninja Warrior.
Pretty good show.
Basically the competition starts with 100 competitors in the timed first stage. Usually no more than a dozen finish it but there is a decent amount of comedy competitors. Then the people who finished the first stage try the second stage. Harder than the first. The third stage contains the hardest events but is untimed and those who finish all three stages (very few do. I've seen the last three or four competitions and I've only seen it happen twice) go onto the final stage. That big mountain climb.
Only one person in the 15 seasons it's gone on for has beaten the final stage. - modernsquid, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20and thus, this is why a pirate would never win against a ninja.
- PitifulLoser, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16Ran out of edit time and just noticed this is actually the 16th competition and this makes the second person to beat the course.
- iamhumble, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15Japanese always have the best game shows. I can watch these shows all day long.
- iamhumble, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14G4TV should just air all Japanese game shows, and then it will be somewhat popular again.
- themastersb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14A real life platform game.
- tastypastry, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Only a ninja could do that.
- ewcost, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Wow, this is great! Nice digg!
- snypa, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Yep, like Takeshi's Castle gone extreme.
Bloody amazing though, especially the wall climbing stuff.
Only in Japan. - h3xley, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5What is that stuff they spray on their hands to give them more grip?
- jaynedoe, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6this would be fun with some friends
- sephiroth965, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Ultimate ninja is so much better than MXC.
These guys build their own courses in their backyards and train all year long. - pap3rw8, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I did something like this once, i swear.
- internetabuser, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Actually two have beaten the final stage, Nagano Makoto recently (as seen in the awesome video) and 秋山和彦 (Kazuhiko Akiyama) at the 4th competition way back in '99. Now if anyone has video of that performance it would be amazing.
- TeCuervo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I think we finally uncovered Spiderman's secret identity... Deffinate digg
- psbpv3o, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"Only one person in the 15 seasons it's gone on for has beaten the final stage."
And only 3 or 4 have actually gotten to the final stage. Amazing what these people can do... - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3i want to be on that show
- Sneezewort, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Your URL has a period at the end.
Fixed...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QgIX6Y3rSfE - DownSyndrom3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3That looked fun, but hard =P
- rhettnyedotorg, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4compressed air chalk.
- Saiing, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3This is just one show. Sasuke also has a parent and child competition. It's the same type of course, but with a Mom or Dad and his son or daughter. The kids are usually about 10 or 12 years old. The last time I saw it they had a 6 year old. The kids are amazing.
Come to Japan and you can have a go. It's not just on TV. In my local game center they have a Sasuke course. I can get about half way round before I need to stop and have a 5 minute break! My wife practically flies around it.
There's actually a lot of really good television in Japan. Sadly it's often only the weird stuff that makes it to YouTube though. Good to see something different for a change. - YouKnowWho, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3That dude is the real life Solid Snake..
- ithon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I like this show, it's the only show besides X-play that I watch on G4. In matter of fact I'm watching it right now/
- zeek741852, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2this guy would be nasty at parkour
- jewdiknight, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3To bad G4 edits each episode to death. Taking out some competitors as a whole. I guess they need to make more commercial time to plug a crappy version of a perfectly good Star Trek series. 2.0 my ass.
- NuPagady, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2wow the graphics of this game are so realistic.
- elnerdo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Definite
NOT defanite
NOT deffinite
NOT definate
etc. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2URL doesn't work pippin, but I know what you're talking about. I saw an American version of Viking dubbed in English. The only video I could find is the Japanese version though.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SUEnEGYRuz0 - MobiusPrime, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3This show is called Ninja Warrior it is shown on G4TV
http://www.g4tv.com/ninjawarrior/index.html - pippin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2there was a show fairly similar to this show on last night that i had never seen before. I think it was done somewhere in asia then rebroadcasted in english and called the viking heres a clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QgIX6Y3rSfE. I have to say it takes mad skills to finish the certain stages or a ninja.
- AMDnVidiaATi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That was great
- levyjl1988, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This kinda reminds me of Spike TV's Most Extreme Elimination Challenges. The Japanese are crazy people!
- tastypastry, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Unfortunately you are right.
- Venator, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Sad to say that this show is the only good show on G4, but it is a good show!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2hehe I love the guy that screws up at the addition. Not that I probably wouldn't, but still damn funny.
- xenoploid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It looks like it's not even that difficult for him. Can't believe he's not wearing any kind of helmet.
- srg13, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Absolutely awesome! I love the screaming commentator at the end!
I really want to try out some of those courses. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1America Gladiators was awesome!!! I used to watch it that as a kid, then I found it on spike I think like four years ago, but I haven't seen it since.
The best challenge was when the gladiator would have some gun with tennis balls and shoot at the average dude trying to run to bases to shoot them back - roromx, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3ESPN broadcast a similar event called VIKING
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I wanna see the blooper reel from that show.
- noonzie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1He won 3 goats and 1 millionaire slingshot for his efforts
- sephiroth965, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nagasaki takes on the mountain tonight. I'm watching right now.
- friedman420, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1its a completely different theme from MXC, this show is like Olympic grade athletes doing amazing challenges. MXC is regular people doing difficult, but not so amazing challenges because its funny to watch them fail.
- spartan778, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The show is called Ninja Warrior
- BobaFettTDG, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ninja Warrior FTW! I watch this on TV all the time.
- fakeplasticsnow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1arrested development is good too, and this. aside from that the whole station sucks
- spidoman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That's what she said.
- T3hl33tg33k, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I wish I was that 1337.
- spriggig, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'd rather see Lara Croft do it.
- elnerdo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Actually, the winner IS a ninja pirate. He is a captain of a boat as his occupation.
