- WafflePirate, on 01/13/2009, -2/+95This is actually quite a sad story.
- FullMetalNIN, on 01/13/2009, -2/+63Literally the worst string of comments I have ever seen on digg. Very sad story.
- ureshiidesuka, on 01/13/2009, -17/+69zombie babies.
- johnleemk, on 01/13/2009, -1/+34These comments suck.
- dvsbastard, on 01/13/2009, -1/+27"Jayne Soliman had been declared brain-dead."
Being declared brain dead, and giving birth "2 days after dying" are two completely different things... It's a sad story, and I am sure the family doesn't appreciate the media sensationalising the story in that manner... - headzoo, on 01/13/2009, -1/+22"“The hospital laid her baby on her shoulder when she was born so she could have a moment with her."
That's the most touching thing I've heard all week. Just when I think everyone in the world is a dick, I read something like that. - bakamas, on 01/13/2009, -1/+20awww, this is so sad. But thanks to modern medicine, her daughter will get to live.
- agentvincent, on 01/13/2009, -6/+21insert house reference here.
- Cruelapollo, on 01/13/2009, -1/+16Except for that one time, when it was lupus.
- mv10, on 01/13/2009, -0/+12It's Lupus
- Noceous, on 01/13/2009, -0/+12Is 4Chan down? WTF
***** aside, I can't imagine being the father. To lose so much yet gain so much has got to be ripping him apart. My heart goes out to him and his family. - moo2u2, on 01/13/2009, -0/+11it's never Lupus!
- Heidenreich12, on 01/13/2009, -0/+11tragic....but is amazing what doctors can do these days to save a life
- ZeroCubed, on 01/13/2009, -0/+11That's awful and..great. He has a point - it's a very conflicting thing to feel terribly sorry for her friends and family, and yet be happy that she lives on in her barely born daughter. I think though, he will be fine - he's a father, he has a baby girl. That in itself is absolutely wonderful.
- JamJosh, on 01/13/2009, -0/+9Alcoholism is a disease, but it's the only one you can get yelled at for having. Goddamn it Otto, you are an alcoholic! Goddamn it Otto, you have Lupus! One of those two doesn't sound right.
- hulkamaniaz, on 01/13/2009, -0/+8RIP
- onestrawplz, on 01/13/2009, -1/+9RTFA, she was actually brain dead and on life support, AND the fetus was 25 weeks old. Doctors can usually save fetuses that young. It's not like she was an 8 week old embryo.
- LeonHRodriguez, on 01/13/2009, -1/+9I'm glad I wasn't the only one, FullMetal
- azureskies88, on 01/13/2009, -2/+10Actually? I have to ask, what were you expecting?
- Tynan, on 01/13/2009, -3/+10Dawn of the Dead, anyone?
Totally ***** up scene. - stotty, on 01/13/2009, -0/+7This story got to me because my sister is also a person. No, actually it just got to me because of human compasion.
- inactive, on 01/13/2009, -0/+7Is that in the remake? Or am I just completely forgetting a scene in one of my favourite movies?
- inactive, on 01/13/2009, -2/+9It's never lupus.
- farfromhere, on 01/13/2009, -0/+6First post I've seen from you that I actually agree with. Really sad story, especially for the father.
- Bunnybutt, on 01/13/2009, -0/+6Heartbreaking story.
- Idrive, on 01/13/2009, -1/+7Dude wtf...have a heart!
- AzureRise, on 01/13/2009, -0/+6Remake. Long live George A, Romero,
- kevyn, on 01/13/2009, -0/+5chances are the only people who you would sleep with would have to be dead, so I can see why this turns you on
- nypron, on 01/13/2009, -2/+7This is sad and a very touching story. =[. My sister also skates so this story got to me.
- Markb3489, on 01/13/2009, -1/+6I was expecting it to be so heartwarming
- Readux, on 01/13/2009, -2/+6it's autoimmune
- acdcfanbill, on 01/13/2009, -0/+4remake, Peter Jackson did it first in Braindead anyway.
- syntaxgs, on 01/13/2009, -5/+9This is a touch-ing story and please don,t try to add your sick Brands of humor too it this baby is with out a mom and you are making fun of them >=(
- hawksfan03, on 01/13/2009, -1/+4i think there is something in my eye
- onestrawplz, on 01/13/2009, -1/+4Actually, the Federal Abortion Ban was upheld in the Gonzales v. Planned Parenthood decision criminalizes certain second-trimester abortions (so-called partial birth abortions).
On top of that, the Medical Associations in most states prohibit doctors from performing abortions after 20-21 weeks, unless there are special circumstances (i.e. mother's health is in danger).
You can't just decide at 30 weeks that you don't feel like being pregnant anymore and hop over to the doctor for an abortion. - blur13, on 01/13/2009, -0/+2http://www.linkmesh.com/imagenes/temas/simpsons/ho ...
- neonoodle, on 01/13/2009, -1/+3I think House dealt with something similar to this.
- dave11980, on 01/13/2009, -1/+3When I first read the link I was all ready to go there, then I read the story. Sometimes we shouldn't turn it into a debate. Have respect for the late mother and give prayers for the father and child. We can get back to arguing abortion tomorrow.
- rypic7, on 01/13/2009, -1/+3This story really magnifies and reinforces the notion that there is a kind of balance between life and death.
- rsbryswrrl, on 01/13/2009, -0/+2Very touching story. I can't imagine what the family is going through right now.
- dave11980, on 01/13/2009, -1/+2When I first read the link I was all ready to go there, then I read the story. Sometimes we shouldn't turn it into a debate. Have respect for the late mother and give prayers for the father and child. We can get back to arguing abortion tomorrow.
- IceOfDiamonds, on 01/13/2009, -2/+3i was expecting that she got a gold medal of some sort
- darkstar107, on 01/21/2009, -0/+1WTF man...grow up.
- zushiba, on 01/13/2009, -0/+1This story seems really familiar, I swear I've read it before.
- elliotys, on 01/14/2009, -0/+1Oh god. Thanks for the morality lesson now get over yourselves.
- scoobycarolan, on 01/13/2009, -0/+1mom?
- dstz, on 01/13/2009, -0/+1In most countries, brain death is equal to legal death. The tittle is probably sensationalist, but it still seems, hum, technically accurate.
- elliotys, on 01/13/2009, -18/+18Don't trust the kids. . . They are zombies.
- xxxyukichan, on 01/19/2009, -0/+0this totally seems like something that would have been on House.
Its a very sad story. but I am glad the baby doing ok. - presidentraygun, on 01/13/2009, -0/+0The hospital laid her baby on her shoulder when she was born so she could have a moment with her.
“This would have been the best day of her life.”
I'm sorry there's something in my eye. -
