- SEN5241, on 01/08/2009, -5/+50I wonder if there's a guy hanging upside down with his bare ass showing down below the cloud layer.
- THREETWOONEZERO, on 01/08/2009, -3/+26♪ ...And she's buying a chairlift to heaven ♫
- nipterink, on 01/07/2009, -2/+25i'd bottle some clouds on the way up.
- redled, on 01/08/2009, -1/+20Here's the actual page for it:
http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/photo-contest/wa ...
It's in the November -Week 1 pulldown. From that page:
"This picture was taken at the top of Grand Targhee Ski Resort in Alta, Wyoming. There was a perfect layer of clouds splitting the resort in half. It was a perfect day at the top, but crappy on the bottom."
No bigger image sizes :( - inigomntoya, on 01/08/2009, -0/+17Nice, changed your comment to make me look like a dork...
- DinosWillDie13, on 01/08/2009, -0/+10Grand Targhee Ski Resort in Alta, Wyoming. from http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/photo-contest/wa ...
- TreatsTheBear, on 01/08/2009, -1/+10Actually when you ski down through clouds, they quickly start to resemble fog and you can't see *****.

- Jookly, on 01/08/2009, -0/+6You from the city or somethin' there 'bouts slick?
- takingcharrge, on 01/08/2009, -0/+6they guy 4 posts above you says it's Alta WY...the website you posted is for Alta UT, which doesn't allow snowboarders
- cecilpl, on 01/08/2009, -0/+5Whistler is amazing, but I wouldn't say it has the best snow. It's a huge resort (two mountains, each of which would take days to fully explore), great runs, and a really nice village. The snow is typical coastal snow though - it's wet, thick, and heavy.
I prefer the snow in the interior of BC - Big White especially but also Silverstar or Sunpeaks. It's light and fluffy and so much less tiring. :) - etaubeneck, on 01/08/2009, -1/+6anyone know what resort that is?
- cmf2071, on 01/08/2009, -1/+6Awesome photo. Really makes you want to go skiing.
- bassman12593, on 01/08/2009, -0/+5You don't get it.
- Benjigga, on 01/08/2009, -2/+7Holy ***** that picture looks cold.
- AmyVernon, on 01/08/2009, -3/+7ski lift to heaven?
- 1807, on 01/08/2009, -0/+4"...cause you know sometimes words have two meanings.."
- inigomntoya, on 01/08/2009, -1/+5Its actually Alta Wyoming. At Grand Targhee ski Resort. In Wyoming.
- Jookly, on 01/08/2009, -0/+4except that when you put it that way it sounds incredibly gay.
- pwdrskier, on 01/08/2009, -0/+4read the subtitle *****
- madhakish, on 01/08/2009, -0/+4Alta Wyoming (the picture) and "Snowbird / Alta" in Utah are different locales. Your looking at the website for Alta UT.
Snowbird / Alta in UT is a split resort, with no snowboards on the Alta Mt. however Snowbird does allow snowboarding. Alta Wy. does allow snowboards and is just as it appears in the photo - incredible.
Best snow I've ever found however - Whistler/Blackcomb, BC, Canada - and if your in the village there's a great crepe shop on your way to the lifts, check it out for breakfast before you hit the hill.. yum.
All three are incredible though... - inigomntoya, on 01/08/2009, -0/+4Grand Targhee Ski Resort, Alta, Wyoming.
Greatest Snow on Earth (all natural, none of this man made stuff).
This is the resort I practically grew up at. - bmore1982, on 01/08/2009, -0/+4no ski lift? denied!
- 1807, on 01/08/2009, -0/+3Yea as fun as I am sure Snowboarding is, I'd rather do it from the comfort of my couch.
- Drycz, on 01/08/2009, -0/+3You often go into clouds on a ski lift. I've never been above them though, that must be amazing to see in person.
- SPRFRKR, on 01/08/2009, -0/+3While you can't ride the lift on a snowboard at Alta, UT, you *can* ride down the mountain (usually your last run of the day to get to transportation) on a snowboard. Actually pretty fun to do since the resort considers it a *pure* ski resort.
- mehan, on 01/08/2009, -0/+3he is mom?
- nitesoIja, on 01/08/2009, -0/+3because you touch yourself at night
- SPRFRKR, on 01/08/2009, -0/+3You know clouds vary in elevation right and can even be 1ft off the ground (fog) right?
- ace429k, on 01/08/2009, -0/+3i love the views. it just makes the skiing that was already great even better!
- chadsmith729, on 01/08/2009, -0/+3Weather knowledge Fail.
- inigomntoya, on 01/08/2009, -0/+2LIANE Don't say "*****," Eric.
CARTMAN Oh, I mean, this is so cool! - inigomntoya, on 01/08/2009, -0/+2I grew up on the other side of the pass, so I will have to vehemently disagree.
Jackson had too much ice and fake snow on the days I went. It seemed to be built more for skiers who wanted to race. - inactive, on 01/08/2009, -0/+2A friend lives in Bakersfield, I visited a few times, I also lived in Phoenix for 2 1/2 years.. I am not such which one sucks most.
- inigomntoya, on 01/08/2009, -0/+2I grew up the same way. When you get it, you get it. And you never go back... At least you don't enjoy it when you do.
- JamesBondJr, on 01/07/2009, -3/+5It would be magical to go about the clouds on the lift then ski down through them
- pwdrskier, on 01/08/2009, -0/+2first of all alta is in utah outside salt lake city and grand targhee is in
wyoming. completely different things. good job tho! - dgcarbs, on 01/08/2009, -0/+2if your snowboarding in the BC you better have a split board or be climbing off of the skin track. most people cant stand it when someone postholes up a nice skin track (that goes for skiers w/o at stuff too).
- inactive, on 01/08/2009, -0/+2The most beautiful color of mountains I've ever seen. It's like a charcoal greyish, purplish, bluish sort of color. And steep, too. We had to pull over to give our brakes a chance to stop smoking b/c the descent was so steep.
- benmandude, on 01/08/2009, -1/+3This has almost nothing to do with the picture. I agree with what you said. But why here?
- chkdg8, on 01/08/2009, -2/+4Anyone know the location?
- totallyeggs, on 01/08/2009, -1/+3I can see your mom from here!
- Buffalo101, on 01/07/2009, -3/+5Thats simply beautiful...looks amazing.
- inigomntoya, on 01/08/2009, -0/+2This is Grand Targhee (hence the snowboarders on the lift).
And Grand Targhee is WAY better than Canyons and Snowbird. - Vodd9, on 01/08/2009, -1/+3If heaven actually existed and this is what it would look like, then I'd be a Christian for sure.
- bbardlbradd, on 01/08/2009, -4/+6When I'm hating Bakersfield (Ca), which is like 99.8% of the time, I always imagine it looking like that only a few miles above me... where it isn't Bakersfield anymore...
- inigomntoya, on 01/08/2009, -0/+2They left out the best part - if the photographer were to turn around, you would see these:

The Grand Tetons - austinscastle, on 01/08/2009, -1/+3have you ever had a problem seeing through clouds on a plane?
try dodging a tree when you are skiing through that *****. -
