- inactive, on 10/08/2009, -4/+17really? they had to kill it? couldnt they have just taken the video of it and be done with it? what happened to catch and release?
sharks are endangered by moron chinese and their love of shark fin soup, also it seems by redneck florida fishmen... - danconia, on 10/08/2009, -0/+6Well at least they ate this one. Although at this point anyone could kill any non-endangered animal and just say they ate it (even if they really didn't or never had any intention to). Something about killing something just to measure it doesn't rub well with me.
- SoupGFX, on 10/08/2009, -0/+4Too bad... What a beautiful shark.
- Dylson, on 10/08/2009, -0/+3Probably tastes like shark. Probably though. Don't quote me on that.
- Myztry, on 10/08/2009, -0/+2I would've been impressed if they caught the shark like these guys...

- wwwonka, on 10/08/2009, -0/+1I'm thinking that it ain't a legal catch, and now with the numnuts being all over the news someone is going to be getting quite a whale of a fine.
- DeeKaph, on 10/08/2009, -0/+1Go have a Fillet O-Fish.
- DeeKaph, on 10/08/2009, -0/+1In BC he fish the Fraser for Sturgeon - catch and release on the monsters, but there are a few of these dinosaurs bigger than that shark living in this river. Check http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YW8eIcmQxRI ... also there's some pretty big catfish.
- FeloniusMonkey, on 10/08/2009, -0/+1I can't help wonder if that Brett Favre-lookin' guy debated several times whether to keep it or not.
- WhiskeyThieves, on 10/08/2009, -0/+1Why is this still legal?
- Memnochxx, on 10/08/2009, -1/+2Wow, look how majestic it is. Let's kill it.
- palehorse864, on 10/08/2009, -0/+190 miles south, Santiago curses.
- ChocChunkOaties, on 10/08/2009, -0/+1I remember reading about this guy fishing for mackrel, and got a lot more than he bargained for.

- thenorwegian, on 10/08/2009, -1/+1lol. "She didn't die in vain." No, she didn't, tons of our friends ate her.
- Truth3, on 10/08/2009, -1/+1They made sure it didn't produce an even bigger fish in the future.
- gvoakes, on 10/07/2009, -3/+3I wonder what shark tastes like?
- tugo2k1, on 10/08/2009, -0/+1Not really a record catch as far as rod and reel. I mean you could go out in the ocean throw a pig carcass in the water and shoot the biggest shark to show up then call it a record catch, hmmmmm not really.
- gl77, on 10/08/2009, -1/+1wow, someone who actually shares my view. im not a PETA nut by any stretch and have hunted deer, squirrel, turkey and rabbit in the past, but killing that shark just seemed pointless and senseless. i feel weird saying it, but i feel sorry for the poor thing, all it wanted to do was have some swordfish for lunch. ***** hicks "it's comin' right at us!!!"
- Vorg, on 10/08/2009, -0/+0Shinra never really did care about environmental consequences.....get it? XD
- islandlife, on 10/09/2009, -0/+04 more American redneck dick heads with the mentality of a hammer. Keep up the great work ruining our ecosystem.
- madcapmag, on 10/08/2009, -0/+0Not sure why you were downvoted, but makos are not endangered. They are, in fact, one of the tastiest sharks. What is wrong with catch and eat?
- bmiami69, on 10/08/2009, -2/+1dont give a
- Sornos, on 10/08/2009, -5/+3Sharks are hardly endangered. There are some species that are but the whole class certainly is not.
More specifically, short fin makos like these are fairly common. - inactive, on 10/08/2009, -3/+0Not impressed by the catch. If they fought it on the line for hours then yeah, in my book they would get the credit.
- geckron2, on 10/08/2009, -7/+3And here come the PETA nuts...
