FL Athlete Needed Only One Leg for Hall of Fame Career

usatoday.com — Carl Joseph, born without a left leg, earned 13 letters in football, basketball and track. He did all of this by hopping on a right leg almost as wide as his waist. He didn't wear an artificial limb since they were not allowed in competition. 30 years later, Joseph's induction into the FL HS Athletic Hall of Fame will finally take place.

  • ChewyBass, on 04/22/2009, -0/+1Wow, I went to school with Carl. He was older than me, so I never got to play on the same teams as he did during competitions, he was varsity and I was JV. He was amazing to watch, and "bounced" past the competition. Opponents thought they had an advantage on him until they were humiliated and their coach was ripping them a new one. As for basketball, whether we were at home or away, when he dunked, it always brought the house down.
