- bightchee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+49The last "example" is from the movie Shaolin Soccer.
- seventoes, on 10/12/2007, -1/+36Thanks for letting us know that. We will keep that in mind when submitting videos in the future.
- theblooms, on 10/12/2007, -6/+37The one where the ***** steals the spot from the minivan is AWESOME! My wife said "Oh, that would TOTALLY be a road rage incident right there!"
The last one is beyond lame. - TungFu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+28parking your car in a very tight spot using a controlled skid looks really cool. getting your car out of that spot is another story.
- jakatak, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21@BenDuffy: who do you work for, Google?
- dadrew1, on 10/12/2007, -3/+21Shaolin Soccer is a great movie! Kudos for knowing it so quick :-)
- doniguan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17that "rice burner" in question is NOT a mitsubishi evo or anything related to it. It is a goofy honda civic with an enormous wing, cheap white wheels, and an aftermarket front spoiler.
It does not have 4wd, and a honda civic has no torque, although it does surprisingly have an e-brake. - pbaehr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14I don't think I'd be comfortable using such nice cars as place holders in a demonstration. Guess these guys are pretty confident.
- FreeiPodGuy.com, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12They didn't show the footage of the 17 cars they trashed to get the 3 or 4 good clips.
- Hitmeandiltellu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10@WarpFox: who do you work for, Google?
- foreyes4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=827890693289109052&q=parallel+park
- ahhell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Bah. None of those beats Ace Ventura.
- tdogg241, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8I think you mean five and a regular colon.
- JesseDidThis, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7not if you have front wheel drive. See the rice burner use his power break? You can use the same method when getting out of tight spots. Of course, you don't have to burn up your tires to do so.
- steveoa3d, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I used to be able to pick the backend of my VW Rabbit and pull it into the tight spot alone thanks to the light read end and steel easy grip bumpers.
- Hecks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The first and the third clips are of Russ Swift who rose to prominence when he first did the parallel park stunt in a UK TV advert many years ago (for the Austin Montego).
I've seen him do this stuff live - it's great fun to watch, he's a great bloke and he didn't break anything.
http://www.russswift.co.uk/ - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3some of those are old, but still enjoyible..
makes me want to look in paper for junk car to practice with. - mojaam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Better have a "DO NOT TRY THIS" sign or else some idiots will try that and mess up people's car.
- MOJIRA, on 05/17/2008, -0/+3Haha, cool moves indeed. I like the 2nd to last one, but I also find this amusing http://youtube.com/watch?v=YaKWR8dbk4o
I'd like to see someone trick the cops by doing the parallel park skid thing though. If I was a cop and someone pulled that on me I'd just leave him alone - clearly knows what he's doing.. (if I was after him for a traffic infraction). - kozie, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5If you look at it again you'll notice that the car in question is in fact a Honda Civic and not a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO.
- TimDigg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Youtube = More video and better content...also love the social part(the little comments beneath the clips)
GoogleVideo = faster, on better servers, and the video quality is better
Therefore I'd rather watch long documentaries(loose change for example) on Google video, but I find more of those cool hard to find clips on Youtube - Tobey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Wow. Those people must go through a lot of tires...
- TheG2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2There was a special on this a few years back on Discovery, these are all stunt drivers, and yes, they've wrecked a few dozen cars getting it right.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Didn't Elwood invent this move?
- steely, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2welcome to the jungle baby
- Kanundra, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4@ chichin0
I don't know if you watched the vid or not, but that's not an EVO. It's a yellow Honda Civic with a body kit.
Damn Kozie beat me to it.... - kd1s, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1On all the transit buses there are billboards for Mitchum anti-perspirant that say:
"If you could totally parallel park this baby, you're a Mitchum Man."
Thing about it is that I COULD parallel park a 40 foot bus without issue. I'm just not a Mitchum Man. - Character0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Mohanned- Is that clip from a Jackie Chan movie? I know there is at least one where his getaway vehicle is a white evo and they avoid the bad guys by flipping the car on its side to get through an alley.
- EdLesMann, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1you mean cannon ball run? yes that is Jackie Chan.
- benitojuarez, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Anyone have a google video link? youtube is blocked here.
- krazikamikaze, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4I've done this before!
...in GTA:SA after 25 tries. - Fijufic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Intense
- EdLesMann, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1OK so its been a while since I saw the movie, but I found a clip on google that backed me up that it was indeed cannonball run...and the internets never lie...
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082136/ - benitojuarez, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1thanks foureyes4. +digg for you
- droidiac, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm taking my drivers test in December, will I fail if I do that?
- linkinpark342, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Digg++ for last movie. Yellow car one was around google for a while. also lol @ van stealing parking space.
- kasted, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1awesome video, should have included that clip in the EVO with jackie chan.
- darkzealot89, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1why has youtube been so god damn slow lately? i swear im starting to like google video better, at least it loads the f*cking clip
- Izzie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1this one is edited out from a tire tv ad
- doniguan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1TheSolomon
it's called sarcasm. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I wanted to see it in theaters, but after seeing a trailer for it, I never heard of it again.
- kspec, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Heres a nice parking job by an Evo. Not parallel parking, but cool nonetheless.
http://www.metacafe.com/watch/34042/escape_the_police/ - CNAIF, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Ha Ha I used to park my Mazda GLC FWD in that manner in a tight spot. Had to be winter and slippery of course but hell it worked.
- lickwid, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1that's from "Who Am I"
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0No way dude, nothing beats watching Mini Coopers parallel park. The real impressive moves are right here:
http://www.vidilife.com/video_play_167888_Mini_Cooper_Parallel_Parking.htm - cell00, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Youtube is more social and not just videos
edit: rawr, beat me - aer0sense, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4three words : dugg for awesomeness
- ross., on 10/12/2007, -4/+3@ warpfox then explain why 99% of the videos on Digg are links to YouTube
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2YouTube allows for comments, user befriending and tracking, messaging services, and a whole lot more. By comparison, Google only introduced a rating system a few weeks ago.
- TheSolomon, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3doniguan- It "surprisingly" has a parking brake? Every car on the road today has a parking brake. And if I recall correctly, every car with a manual transmission has a hand-lever for the parking brake (instead of the small foot pedal on the driver's far left on automatics).
