- bearon, on 02/07/2009, -1/+14...Um...latest cricket news story...? English cricket team bundled out for 51 runs.
We Indians were scammed during the time of the English empire and it appears that we were just scammed again :P
Edit scorecard: http://content-usa.cricinfo.com/wiveng2009/engine/ ... - chaddichor, on 02/07/2009, -1/+12Overpriced, considering Tendulkar(The best limited overs player ever, for those who dont know) gets 1.14 Million, and Jayasuriya gets 950k. The owners of these franchises are quite stupid, especially Bangalore Royally Challenged..
Mumbai Indians gonna kick butt this time around! Tendulkar FTW! - inefekt, on 02/08/2009, -1/+11oh for ***** sakes will you ***** ***** stop with the 'cricket on the front page' *****!!!
did any non americans complain the last week when the superbowl made the front page EVERY FIVE ***** MINUTES?!???!?!?!?!!?!? - inactive, on 02/07/2009, -1/+11bloated price especially since they are just gonna play half the the damn tourney. Last year the Deccan Chargers wasted so much on Harbajan and Symonds. i like the Rajasthan because they make logical decision when it came to players. Also 20twenty is more suited to young and cheaper talent then the established name.
- Thoku, on 02/07/2009, -0/+9Cricket? On MY Digg?! </sarcasm>
But in all seriousness they are both overpriced given how England has done against the WIndies. - TheThirdLevel, on 02/07/2009, -0/+8This is Twenty20, so its actually fun.
- chaddichor, on 02/07/2009, -1/+7Yes, unfortunately you need to have some grey matter to play it...
- MisterWeary, on 02/07/2009, -0/+6Noticed Duminy got 950K...after the beating he laid down on us Aussies I can understand that :-(
- azizrulez, on 02/08/2009, -0/+5Seems like the recession hasnt really hit the Indians yet.
- inefekt, on 02/08/2009, -1/+5and you're a ***** idiot, so what?
- Stavrosian, on 02/08/2009, -0/+4It's not complicated at all. Anybody could have a basic working knowledge of the sport by listening to a 30 second explanation, same as any other game.
The only thing that would take time is understanding the jargon, because there is a lot of that. Explaining that a googly is a wrong 'un from a right arm leg break bowler, for example, makes it sound much more complicated than if somebody says "it's when that guy spins it to the right instead of to the left." - jimfin25, on 02/07/2009, -0/+3Pietersen I can understand but flintoff at $1.5mill? I hope my chargers do better this season. Go gilly & symonds!
- chaddichor, on 02/07/2009, -0/+3Bollywood actresses... as well as owners of two of the franchises...
- Ph03nikX, on 02/07/2009, -1/+4looks like you cared enough to post a comment .. not that Digg needs another complaining comment from another whiner
- Stavrosian, on 02/08/2009, -0/+2Pietersen is probably the most destructive batsman in the world, though, in spite of England's continuing frailty. Not only does he have the genuine quality of a traditional top order batsman when things get tough, he also has the brute strength and showmanship of the big hitter when things are going well. If you were picking a World XI and you left him out of it there would have to be serious questions asked. In that sense, given the lack of genuine world class players in the auction this time around, it's not surprising he fetched top dollar.
Flintoff is being priced based on his history more than on his recent form, in my opinion. 4 years ago I think I'd have said he was worth it, but I'm not convinced at the moment. - phreak79, on 02/08/2009, -0/+2Hope they kept the receipt after the way they batted against the West Indies.
- TheThirdLevel, on 02/07/2009, -0/+2Yes it is. Look at last year. The majority of players who shined were the youngsters who were not well known internationally.
- partrow, on 02/08/2009, -0/+2Is this slavery? How can they auction people without it being slavery?
- CamoChris, on 02/08/2009, -0/+2But Pietersen scored 97 in the first innings and Flintoff bowled well and got a few runs. I don't see how the performance of the team as a whole somehow makes those two bad players, if you look back over the last year those two are by far England's best and most consistent players; it wasn't long ago that KP was the ICC's top ODI batsmen in their player rankings.
- fabkebab, on 02/08/2009, -0/+2I bet thier stock has plummeted after the west indies first test!!
- inactive, on 02/08/2009, -0/+2these two were part of the side which was bowled out by the mediocre Windies for 51
- phenom2k7, on 02/07/2009, -0/+2The one on the right looks like a member of the Jackson family.
- davodee, on 02/08/2009, -2/+4Lets hope they sustain life long injuries in the IPL..... mere weeks before the Ashes series ;)
- bearon, on 02/07/2009, -0/+1It's strange though how single individual performances just before the auction decide your price at the IPL...I doubt the English players would have made this much if the auction were held right now, after their defeat. Even though no matter what Flintoff and Pieterson are class players...
- Tr33fiddy, on 02/08/2009, -0/+1Tendulkar is good but he's no longer the best one day player. Yuvraj maybe, but this is Twenty20 not ODIs.
The best bit of business was snapping up Tyrone Henderson. Monsterous hitter and genius death bowler. - nibkey, on 02/08/2009, -0/+1Yoink! Bye!
- nibkey, on 02/08/2009, -1/+2Don't worry, there will be a baseball story along soon to placate the colonists.
- phreak79, on 02/08/2009, -0/+1No, that's true, he's the only one that can hold his head up after that performance. The rest were woeful.
- inactive, on 02/08/2009, -0/+1what a dumbass team name, ***** unoriginal
- servicingyou, on 04/26/2009, -0/+1what do you think? They are sold in very less price?
http://www.cricandcric.com - aadi4you, on 04/26/2009, -0/+1ya sold out at a very high price but both is not performing well.flintof is injured and going back to england where as kp out on duck two times in four matches .
http://www.linksgallery.info - jayvisaria, on 02/08/2009, -0/+1Mumbai Indians are the IPL's Dallas Cowboys, big names, big money but always getting outplayed. Yeah, I'm from Mumbai and I wish we'd gotten the Indians's talent from Shivaji Park instead
- ucccft, on 02/09/2009, -0/+1like i said!
What is this crap? And why is it on Digg? WHO CARES? - Stavrosian, on 02/08/2009, -0/+1To be fair, KP fell three short of a ton in his first innings. Hardly a disaster.
- robbibt, on 02/08/2009, -0/+0Deccan didn't pay any money for Harbhajan; he was the captain of the Mumbai Indians until the slapping incident. I like Symonds but I agree with you; even though he actually performed a lot better than most people in his team in the short time he was in the Deccan Chargers, it's crazy to pay that much for ~two weeks.
- inefekt, on 02/08/2009, -2/+2HAHAHAHAHA that's ***** gold!!!
And I thought us Aussies were having a bad trot!!!
This years Ashes series could very well be pitting the world's worst two sides against each other lol
ps I don't count the Banger's or Zim as legitimate test sides - inactive, on 02/07/2009, -1/+0yaaaaa but that dosnt chang the fact that those not very good players were not so good performing in that last time. look at the facts......
- inefekt, on 02/08/2009, -2/+1***** Duminy. He's an annoying little *****. One good series does not make a great player.
- inefekt, on 02/08/2009, -3/+1Best ever? Viv Richards and Michael Bevan would have something to say about that..............
- inactive, on 02/07/2009, -4/+0ehhhhhhhhhhhhh not really

These sluts are hot. - lirem, on 02/07/2009, -15/+3Cricket on the front page? Really?
- Totz83, on 02/07/2009, -17/+2Cricket is the most ridiculously complicated, long winded and monotonous sport known to man.
- ucccft, on 02/07/2009, -16/+1What is this crap? And why is it on Digg? WHO CARES?
