- cynicalbrit94, on 06/04/2009, -3/+126It saddens me that this is the only way cricket will ever make the front page of digg.
- Rudymoman, on 06/04/2009, -0/+92And somewhere Randy Johnson is smiling
- TimBuc1, on 06/04/2009, -2/+66I know absolutely nothing about cricket except that this video is awesome
- rodon, on 06/04/2009, -0/+30The umpire signaled a "dead ball" on that one.
- Devine122, on 06/04/2009, -3/+32Just because you don't understand it, doesn't mean its boring.
- billizm, on 06/04/2009, -4/+33Baseball is also pretty boring.
- GuruKid, on 06/04/2009, -2/+29Cricket is really simple. It's like baseball except with just the home and first bases. And there aren't any bases, there are wickets. And you don't have to run if you hit the ball. And you get to stay even after you get a run....
You know what forget everything you know about baseball and read this link: http://www.cricket-rules.com/ - byebyeedison, on 06/04/2009, -3/+25Have you heard...?
- iDoraemon, on 06/04/2009, -0/+22Randy Johnson yay!

- hockeygiant2, on 06/04/2009, -0/+20I don't know, I think hitting a missile flying through the air with another missile is a pretty difficult task.
- ddhillon, on 06/04/2009, -0/+20Why are you on Digg?

- cmt5061, on 06/04/2009, -0/+7WE HAD A DEAL!!!!!!!
- bizzywho, on 06/05/2009, -0/+6This is horrible! I hope someone eats that poor bird...
- inactive, on 06/05/2009, -0/+6Poor bird is no more...it has ceased to be.
- HappyScrappy, on 06/05/2009, -1/+6As a person who has played a lot of baseball and softball and then tried cricket, they're not really the same at all.
The 2nd biggest difference:
The situation "on the bases" doesn't matter. For example, sixes versus home runs (perhaps I should say fours versus ground rule doubles). A six (ball that leaves the field on the fly) in cricket always scores the same amount regardless of what happened before. It scores six. A home run can score 1,2,3 or 4 runs. A ball that leaves the field on the bounce usually scores nothing in baseball (it can score 1 or 2), but it scores 4 in cricket. You cannot really ever leave runners on base in cricket, except in test cricket and that last runner is a bowler (pitcher) anyway, he doesn't usually score anyway
Biggest difference:
You must ALWAYS swing at the pitch in cricket. Letting a ball by can be a smart thing in baseball, in cricket, it's an invitation to get out. There is no disadvantage to swinging and missing in cricket.
Things get even more different if you play cricket with friends. Many people in those games count bals caught on a single bounce with one hand as an out!
edit:
Oh yeah, and a friend who played cricket a lot and then a little softball would like cricket players to know that a big difference from that side is that you must not forget to drop the bat when you run down to 1st in baseball/softball! Cricketers never drop the bat, in baseball/softball you must. - walgman, on 06/05/2009, -0/+5How can four days of beer drinking be boring?
- seaDragon, on 06/05/2009, -1/+6Amazing how the rest of the world enjoys cricket and soccer, but we americans don't. Must be the short attention... oh look that show with sanjaya is on.
- inactive, on 06/05/2009, -0/+5watch the 20twenty Cricket world cup being held this week on. I assure you that you wont be disappointed. The very short form of the Game is quite a beast compared to the older formats.
- Dafman, on 06/04/2009, -0/+5it really isnt as simple as that.....
- CrazyEddie041, on 06/04/2009, -0/+5Basement kittens?
- ajbx, on 06/04/2009, -1/+6I kinda liked Randy Johnson's exploding seagull myself, but this is pretty cool especially the announcers who don't have a clue what happened.
- smokyjoewood12, on 06/04/2009, -3/+8not quite as impressive as randy but props to cricket
- randumbusername, on 06/04/2009, -0/+5i just killed a bird driving up interstate 57.
- joshg8, on 06/04/2009, -2/+7If you look closely, you can see the bird ***** itself as the ball hits it in the face.
- sloonark, on 06/05/2009, -0/+5Are you serious?
- rishdeep, on 06/05/2009, -0/+4Also happened in Tennis. At least this guy is more respectful of his killing :P http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58zN1pGuVTo
- CrazyEddie041, on 06/04/2009, -0/+4You know all of those plane crashes lately?
- RatatRatR, on 06/05/2009, -0/+3How good of you to point that out.
- SkippyDoorknob, on 06/04/2009, -0/+3And demand they change the name to something other than cricket.
- b1kerguy, on 06/05/2009, -0/+3i had to go back and see if it did, that would be too good to pass up
- Okina, on 06/04/2009, -0/+3San Lorenzo vs. Tigre

Someday pidgeons will learn that sports kill. - dekuscrub, on 06/05/2009, -1/+4I'm sure the pigeon had it coming.
- Helois, on 06/05/2009, -0/+3It takes a lot of narcissism to think that anyone gives a ***** about what sports you prefer. You see the audience in the video? Someone cares Sherlock.
