- Ne007, on 11/24/2008, -2/+29A completely UNNEEDED rematch once again?
- drethedog, on 11/24/2008, -0/+14Screw this... All I want to see now is Fedor vs. Brock....
- TheManikin, on 11/24/2008, -0/+12I find it hard to believe that you've watched Lesnar fight.
Yes, he did fight in WWE, but if you had seen him you would recognize that he can fight pretty damn well. - Jerky1312, on 11/24/2008, -0/+12The UFC is going to milk these two for all they are worth. They are both still big names, even though they both are on the verge of retirement. This is a meaningless fight, but it'll draw a big crowd, create buzz and sell a lot of PPVs.
- IRAcarbombs, on 11/24/2008, -0/+11What happened to Anderson Silva vs Liddell??? Ide rather see Silva elbow him in the face then another rematch with Randy.
- inactive, on 11/24/2008, -10/+21both these dudes are washed up.
- IpwnZnoobs, on 11/24/2008, -0/+8It's funny how when Chuck beat Wanderlei people thought he was on top of the world, but since he lost to Evans people think he's washed up and should retire asap. I'll always support him no matter who he fights and at whatever weight class. I'm down to watch some action.
- swrostmore, on 11/24/2008, -0/+7logged in to digg you up. Actually, logged in to post the same thing, but you beat me to it so dugg.
- inactive, on 11/24/2008, -1/+7What a highly misinformed statement.
MMA as a sport is still in its infancy. - TrevorBelmont, on 11/24/2008, -3/+9I think I speak for everyone when I say, "Meh..."
- tamman2000, on 11/24/2008, -0/+5Couture is far from washed up... Did you see the whoopings he put on Silvia and Gonzaga? Those were only a year ago. Losing one fight (to a man who has more than 50 pounds on him) doesn't make him washed up.
- inactive, on 11/24/2008, -4/+9How about a three man fight with Kimbo Slice where Liddel and Couture proceed to beat the living hell out of Kimbo before dueling each other?
- swrostmore, on 11/24/2008, -0/+5“SunSport understands middleweight champion Anderson Silva, 33, has been asked to appear on the card, with a potential bout with light heavyweight star Chuck Liddell already being mooted,” the report stated.
"Mooted?" Is that even a word? - sathias, on 11/24/2008, -0/+5The fight would be at Heavyweight, which is 205-265. Randy didn't weigh in at 235 to fight Brock, he came in at 220 or so. Neither guy would have any issues with weight at all.
- RusskiGuy, on 11/24/2008, -0/+5...if you ignore 60 pound (at the time of weigh-ins) difference. More like 70 pounds on the fight night.
- TimeIsTissue, on 11/24/2008, -0/+5i don't know
- MrZop, on 11/24/2008, -2/+7As much as i like both fighters, do we need one? These guys are pretty much both nearing retirement. Randy is pretty much there, Chuck is there unless he fights back in. I don't see how this fight would do anything, or prove anything. Pointless really.
Not to mention Chuck having to make weight. That would be tough. - SexyFarts, on 11/24/2008, -0/+4And if you believe this article then Dana is also setting up Anderson Silva vs. GSP if GSP beats BJ Penn...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3sWD9tHXjs&eurl=ht ...
* Dana White said that if GSP defeats B.J. Penn he "will get Anderson Silva" (6:24 mark)
Looks like they're really relying on Silva being P4P best fighter through these freakshows - andrewlotta, on 11/24/2008, -3/+7Couture would win, no question.
- SexyFarts, on 11/24/2008, -0/+4Actually, news is that they may be setting up Anderson Silva to fight Liddell at UFC 95
http://sports.yahoo.com/mma/news;_ylt=AgU.mEB6HQAF ...
of course, none of these sources are very legitimate...i wouldn't hold my breath for either of these freakshow matches - Marcer, on 11/24/2008, -1/+5Probably not very compelling for the hardcore fan, but this would still be a huge money maker. Although I'd like to see Anderson Silva fight Couture more.
- thegrantman, on 11/24/2008, -2/+6This is going to be like Rocky 7....8?
- tamman2000, on 11/24/2008, -0/+3Blame the regulating bodies for the rules, not the UFC... they are trying to get kicks to a downed opponent into the rules.
- inactive, on 11/24/2008, -0/+3Randy Couture is by no means washed up. He is an aging man that needs to retire from the octagon.
I would like to see Randy as the public figure for the UFC. Let him be in charge of TUF and be the public spokesperson. If this were the case, I guarantee he would not put up with the ***** like we've seen in TUF season 8.
Keep Dana White's unprofessional mouth and poor decision making skills off the airwaves. - painting, on 11/24/2008, -1/+4no it wont.
- phavn, on 11/24/2008, -2/+4if only dana wasn't be a douche...
- inactive, on 11/24/2008, -0/+2Your question about mooted being a word is moot.
According to some dictionary listings, "mooted" is an old English word for a meeting. - kaipolani114, on 11/24/2008, -1/+3Cool.
- SexyFarts, on 11/24/2008, -0/+2ya that's strange...i thought moot was already a past and a present participle...so is it wrong to say "already being moot"?
- cjei21, on 11/24/2008, -0/+2Dream on my friend. Dream on.
- rsbryswrrl, on 11/24/2008, -0/+1Eh - they're both pretty old. I'll watch it, but it's not that exciting. Funny though how the UFC didn't want anything to do with Randy Couture a few months back, but they'll sure need him and his German-speaking ability to promote this fight. Now the fight I'd like to see is Kim Couture vs. Chuck Liddell's boyfriend LOL.
- henismightier, on 11/24/2008, -0/+1Sounds boring.
- sathias, on 11/25/2008, -0/+1It has been reported that Randy does not want to cut to LHW anymore due to it taking more out of him these days, being that he is 45. Forrest Griffin is champ at LHW and Wandy is a top contender as well, who he both either trains with or is close friends with.
The article only links to the BloodyElbow site, here is the article itself
http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2008/11/22/668094/blood ... - inthefade, on 11/24/2008, -0/+1What do you mean? Fedor won't sign with the UFC, and Randy is on contract with them still.
- inactive, on 11/24/2008, -2/+3NO THANKS.
- Fozefy, on 11/24/2008, -0/+1shrugs...the only reason UFC has is to make money off fights. Anyone who actually thinks there is a "reason" for any of these fights is ridiculous. Its all set up at the whim of the producers anyways...
- markrp, on 11/27/2008, -0/+1Cant see to point of this fight, been done but will be good : http://freeufc.info
- inactive, on 11/24/2008, -0/+1Tag team MMA fights FTW.
- inactive, on 11/24/2008, -0/+1...and what is your sport of choice?
- Ne007, on 11/24/2008, -0/+1UFC owns them both right?
It's just that you can't have Pride rules in the States. - itsJALbert, on 11/24/2008, -0/+1Pride rules with no steroids testing FTL ;)
- saucy05, on 11/24/2008, -0/+1Lesnar vs. Fedor
Make it happen. - inactive, on 11/24/2008, -1/+2Pistols at 20 paces.
- Theooglesites, on 11/23/2008, -2/+3Be awesome tbh!
- tamman2000, on 11/24/2008, -0/+1Why would the fight be at HW? They can both make 205 no problem... From 220 that is a pretty easy cut for Randy, he used to do it all the time, and Chuck has been fighting at 205 all along (even though he walks around at about 220-225).
- tamman2000, on 11/24/2008, -0/+1Brock V Nog could be very good... I would also like to see Brock V Carwin...
- GrodyChamp, on 11/24/2008, -0/+1To everyone saying it will be boring, all of their previous fights were classics. I wouldn't mind seeing them go at it again. Both are nearing the end of their careers and whoever wins will get one last boost.
- crowbar77, on 11/24/2008, -0/+1Not gonna happen, Lesner would get destroyed and fedor will head back to europe. Dana won't do that to his champion.
- TommyTikal, on 11/24/2008, -1/+1I want to see Liddel fight Lesnar.
