But Round 3 set the precedent for what was to come, with Joe not only dominating but decimating Jones, who has now unfortunately slipped far past his peak.
A swelling and then a large cut appeared on Jones Left eye.
That was Jones first ever cut. The corner failed to stop the bleeding throughout the fight but Jones fought on bravely even when it was clear only a knockout which was never going to come was needed.
In then end Calzaghe cruised home to victory, which goes to show how good he is.
What a pity this didnt happen 5 years ago.
