He had no external injuries except some minor skin damage but he was in a pharmacologically-induced coma. Apparently he's healthy and will most likely return to ski jumping. The accident happend on January 20, 2007. - pixelbasic, on 10/10/2007, -2/+13Dugg for putting the page's featured content 8in (20cm) below the page's header & navigational *****. /sarcasm
Joy from other's pain +1
Web design -1 - SkippyDoorknob, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8The agony of defeat!
- schweeet, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6I sure am. Although I'm a bit disappointed by the graphics.
Apparently, according to the commentators, a small gust of wind caused him losing his balance, and because of inexperience, he didn't manage to avert the catastrophy. - darny, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7dugg for "UH YOY YOY YOY YOY"
- deviouskoopa, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Sucks his other ski didn't come off...
- eSentrik, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6I believe I can fly
- Gryffydd, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5I'm thinking you mean Natural Selection?
- blumph, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5they had to amputate his *entire* body
- bariswheel, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4it's called sympathy, something you're obviously very foreign to.
- doctorpants, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Are we so old to remember Wide World of Sports? That guy was the worst I have ever seen.
- MrAnderson, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Usually it's best to wait until they've confirmed the guy is okay before showing him falling in slow motion from 8 different angles while screaming ayeayeayeayeaye.
- resplence, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Why?
- jweak, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2It's Finnish way of saying 'ouch' or whatever you say when you sympathize someone.
- SkippyDoorknob, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2For those too young to have experienced "the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat" from ABC's Wide World of Sports:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nPk_IZ44DMc - wvannus, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3The announcer dude goes "aye yie yie yie yie" like the dude in that video of the bad rally corner where everyone wrecks. Cultural thing?
- blumph, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2unless he's evolved into a rock
- Urusai, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I believe it's similar with Spanish. Ay ay ay ay, canta no llores and all that.
- snotrokit, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2that has Excedrin written all over it. ouch
- Tr33fiddy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I'd love to know the final tally on broken bones and dislocations. My guess is; left arm, broken humerus, possible broken radius and/or ulner, dislocated left shoulder, broken pelvis and I'd look to clean up on the betting with a spiral fracture to the right femur.
Probably got a bit of a headache too. - blumph, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1looks like a bit of concussion too
- Scotty87, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3anyone else thinking how fast you could go with a crazy carpet down that hill?
- darny, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1"UH YOY YOY YOY YOY"
- mrbradg, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1That really wasn't that bad.
- Regulator980, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1That ""UH YOY YOY YOY YOY" crap reminds me of this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qiIYEmpWaaQ - mapkinase, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Go get them Jan, do not pee against the wind no more.
- WarMace, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Looks like his left leg cramped up and stopped working mid flight.
- SLYK, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Try prescription painkillers. Did you see how his left leg was twisted when he finally stopped?
- anarchytv, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1you have to wonder, if you were to go up to one of these skiers sitting on the bench, and whisper in his ear "i've seen the future... if you do this, you're going to have a terrible crash that royally ***** you up and puts you seriously in the hospital"... i wonder after telling them that, how many would just shrug it off with chutzpah and go ahead and do it anyway. now, try the same experiment, where you pull out a mini video player, and actually *show* them crashing. big difference i bet. people don't believe words, but they believe images.
- Fracture98, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Super-slider snow skates.
(Look 'em up on Google if you don't know what spinal-injury-law-suit-in-a-box looks like). - prince87x, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Damn, that is going to leave one hell of a bruise.
- compgeek, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2damn. that looked incredibly painful. I'd imagine he broke at least one arm and one leg in that one
- MasterMynd, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0heres my guess, broken body.
- RedForLife, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1just roll around, you'll be alright.
- cjpeed, on 10/10/2007, -6/+0Here is another link to the video...
