- RetroRufio, on 10/12/2007, -2/+22Now, who on Earth would be in such a hurry that they need to go that fast? - My Grandma :)
- j01101010, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9now it only needs to go 7 miles an hour faster....
- joeshlub, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Your joking of course, but if you read the article this is the flat ground speed. Not even down hill. When I saw 81 mph i wasn't impressed, but on flat terrain? Damn.
- antifolkhero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9its like a banana only faster
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I've always wondered if someone can get a speeding ticket on a bike. Now I know it's true.
- ChronicColonic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6...with a flux capacitor installed of course.
- Brodels, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6The first video looks like cycling in the year 3000 or something, cycling highways and bikes like that would be a great way to commute if people weren't so lazy.
digg this in 983 years if I'm right please. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8http://videos.streetfire.net/search/bicycle/0/04809dfc-978a-4a59-b151-ae548c525cdb.htm
World's fastest bicycle.
245 km/h = 152.2 mph
I wouldn't have the balls to ride that beast. Imagine falling off, you would have no skin or tissue left in you. - Niten, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7It's easier than you might think. The speed limit across the University of Florida campus is just 20 MPH. I was in a hurry to get to class one day last semester, and got pulled over for going twelve over the limit on my road bike.
Got off with a warning, though. Thanks, UFPD. - zachblume, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5but then it could've been a tricycle.
- dugR, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5ill stick to walking... very slowly
- armourer, on 10/12/2007, -5/+9maybe I'm just ignorant.
maybe I'm just a cynic,
but does even qualify as a bike anymore?
I mean, I know it has a 2 wheels and is bike-like somewhere inside, but seriously.
more like Breaking the Speed Record: 81 MPH on a "streamlined human powered vehicle"
;) - Brodels, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5make that 993.
- armourer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I think it would be even better as an 81 mph tricycle
- antoniojvr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5How can he fit in that bike with balls so big.
- SpaceDreamer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3dugg for the ultra-cheesy Top Gun references in the last video.
(the sountrack and the plane vs. bike race )
Aaaaawesome. - daofma, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Human powered bicycle.
- ChronicColonic, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Buy your own bike, Sally.
I do not know if there are any hills for sale. - HanSolo69, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2and it actually lends itself *towards* evolution.
- CrownSeven, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2He do that going downhill? Read the article, this is going 81 mph on FLAT land.
- aplusbi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2John Howard drafted a car with a fairing. Still pretty amazing, but not the same.
- mntbikeracer1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2We are talking about a flatland human powered record here people. Not a longboard or bicycle going down a super steep mountain pass, because if that counted I myself have broken 81mph in several road races here in Colorado. This is hauling considering you have to start from zero and power your way to 80mph, for another interesting look at speed cycling look up the hour record.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2ohhhh human powered bike.. yeh, that was the part i was missing.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Hey, muchocoffee: much coffee lately?
- KamikazeeDriver, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1looks more like a car than a bike.
- craig4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@over90
well since you brought up the falling part I thought you might like this video. Which by the way is on of the fastest runs on a bike, but downhill. The video says he hit 100mph, http://youtube.com/watch?v=Nv87Rt_7JiI - aserer511, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Al Gore: this craft is also eco-friendly and emissions free, much like I am testosterone free.
- sally00, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1and WHY would i buy a hill?
- theseventhyear, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It would also need a flux capacitor silly
- akashra, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1There's another HPV world record attempt being planned for next weekend by an Australian team, at one of the local motoring manufacturer proving grounds.

- anoriega, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I have a friend who got a ticket for going 51 in a 25 through a small town in Wisconsin on a bike (although I guess that was on a hill). Fastest I've ever gotten to is 45.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1someone beat you to it. :(
- zachblume, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1kinky?
- gaiden2k5, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Install police radar detector and blinkers FTW
- magixx2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Well ~50km/h was my maximum and that was going down a steep long hill. No record for me :(
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1oomoylanooo, RTFA or make better jokes.
- garyfranz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1cripes, and i thought when i hit 34mph on a flat road that was fast (with winds less than 5mph)
- mhmdkhamis, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0http://www.paramegsoft.com/forum/
http://girls.paramegsoft.com/ - dr0psy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2biker sherlock went 90mph on a (basically stock) longboard in '05
81 on a bike? seems like someone could do better
maybe im just drinkin haterade - DyDx, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Not if you reach terminal velocity first! I don't actually know what it would be for... a person and a bike falling off a cliff.. but still.
